Anyone can shootThe very heavy downpour did not deter the RCMCians who gathered on to hear
from Sambandhan Kodthandaraman (alias Kota)– the basics of photography. And he did not disappoint
the crowd. He explained the technical aspects of camera in a manner that everyone could understand.
And he spoke from his heart. Starting from parts of the Camera, touching on the importance of shutter
speed in effective photography, explaining the different lens forms - he enthralled the audience with
the basics. He explained the difference between film cameras and digital cameras. He touched upon
important aspects that needs to be kept in mind while shooting a photo. Some interesting notes from his
speech that morning :
Sunday, 17th November
85 % of camera lens used in Space were made by Hasselblad.
Konica was the preferred film in south India because, its majanta shade of photos made the darker people look relatively fairer
Best time to shoot outdoor photography is between 6 – 11 am or 3 – 7 pm. He explained that the dust particles form a haze between 11 am and 3 pm and this was a time to avoid any outdoor photo
When you shoot any monument, shoot at different times of the day and at different angles. You may then arrive at the right image (he recalled photographer Raghu Rai's book on Taj)
Switching eyes to shoot can change the way you see an object you shoot.
He recalled the famous award winning photo of a bat drinking water. The bat drinks water in a fraction of a second . The bat drinks water upside down. The Russian photographer caught this on camera with a shutter speed of 1/20,000 of a second He recalled the great Hungarian war photographer and photojournalist - Robert Capa - who covered five different wars and touched upon the need for professional photographers to be physically fit.
Fellowship…..
What they said…..
“ Folks.. This was a fantastic fellowship and we thoroughly
had a good time. The organizers have set a very high
benchmark for RCMC now.Thanks a lot !”
On 24th November, fellowship @ The beach house on ECR
was alive…. The energy and enthusiasm of all those who
participated in the family fellowship was “awesome” . Food
& Fun converged into wholesome entertainment. At end, it
was a great experience, beautifully planned and
wonderfully executed. With General joining the Karaoke,
and also dancing, Bala & Srini singing some melodious
Hindi and Tamizh numbers, the young and not so young
enjoyed the experience. And the dance floor set ablaze by
the young anns and annets…..
“Dear Hosts, I enjoyed myself so much at the Fellowship
today that I fell deep asleep soon after my return home.
Hence the delay in sending this msg. many members have
already commented on this wonderful event that I cannot
find words to add to their compliments. I regret that I missed
the fun at the swimming pool & the sea excursion. I join all
the others in thanking the hosts & wish to thank Anjiah in
particular for having made available his beach
house.”…..General
“………..but also for re-defining what a great fellowship is all
about. Fun, food, family warmth, adventure – we had it all in
plenty! A lot of effort goes into organizing something like
this. I know that you people have been working on this for
almost a month. The results speak for itself. It has brought
out the singer in Bala, the dancer in General and active
participation from all the family members! When I was
leaving, Perks was lungi-dancing his way to the Bay of Bengal
– I am sure my report is incomplete. Thanks once again for
the super fantastic fellowship and three cheers to RCMC”…..

Thank you so much hosts, we all left with great memories
and warm feelings. Thank you once again. “ Vilasini Karthik
“My thanks to all of you for a wonderful fellowship!.......
Perhaps for the first time, we could see so much of singing
talent. Participation of Anns and Annets was enthusiastic
and wonderful. Kiran and Sri really led the show! Altogether
a great day of fun, fellowship and fantastic music! -Bala
“It was a wonderful fellowship which I had ever attended. I
thank all the hosts who organized this fellowship and who
made this day a memorable one for all those who attended
with music, dance, deep sea adventure etc. “ Kavitha.

well in every match without failing” says President Ravi. He adds “We
won all league round matches as did Bangalore A. We beat Bangalore B in
