GENERAL CONDITIONS

RULES: The Show is conducted under the Rules and Regulations of the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society

Incorporated and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies.

SAFETY AND SECURITY: The Society takes all reasonable care in these matters. Please refer to the following “Notice

to Ground Users”, and the Safety Regulations listed therein. The Society engages the services of Security Personnel to assist with

the provision of care of all exhibits, livestock and property, but no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to or by

such exhibits, livestock and / or property.

WAIVER: Every person that is involved in an activity during the Show is required by our insurer to sign a waiver. This

includes riders, volunteers, trade exhibitors, entertainers etc.

LOST PERSONS: “Lost” persons, or those seeking “lost” persons are asked to wait on the roadside outside the Police

Room. Public Address announcements will be made as deemed necessary.

EARLY ENTRIES: The lodgement of early entry forms for all Sections of the Show will greatly assist Stewards and Office

staff in the smooth running of the Show.

DATES: Please note that dates quoted in this Schedule, e.g. 20th May, 30th June, refer to the year of this Show, as per dates

on the front page of this Schedule.

PRIZE MONEY: All prize money will be available for collection from the Cashier at the Treasury, located beside the Main

Office at the following times:

Friday between the hours of 10.00am and 6.00pm only Saturday between the hours of 9.00am and 6.00pm only Sunday between the hours of 9.00am and 7.30pm only Funds will also be available on the Monday after the Show from the Show Office between 9.00am and 12 noon.

The exception to this arrangement is for Show Horses and Show Jumping for the Saturday events which will be available after

the Grand Parade at 3.00pm on Saturday 16th June. Ring event prize-winners are asked to note that prize money will NOT be

paid on the Saturday of the Show until after the competitors have participated in the Grand Parade. Each competitor must

produce a ticket to prove participation. Cheques cannot be posted as a receipt is required for each payment.

UNCLAIMED PRIZE MONEY: Prize money and trophies not claimed by the 30th June 2018 will be regarded as

forfeited unless alternative arrangements have been made prior to this date.

LIVESTOCK: All livestock must enter the Showgrounds via the Bli Bli Road Gates and exit via the Crushers exit. Poultry

entries will have a dedicated lane at the front gate for delivery and collection of their exhibits.

NOTICE TO GROUND USERS: The duration of the 2018 Show includes set up time pre-Show and pack-up post -

Show. (The period 8th June to 20th June 2018 inclusive).

SAFETY REGULATIONS: This is a Safety Conscious Show and it is your Show. Please help to keep it safe and accident

free. Normal rules and regulations of the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Sunshine Coast Council and the Show Society apply.

The Society requests the total co-operation of all Exhibitors, Competitors and Patrons in the following matters as these are

requirements of our insurers and / or the Showground Management for the duration of the 2018 Sunshine Coast Show.

1. Your co-operation is sought in reporting to the Show Safety Officer or Show Manager any situation you may consider a potential hazard or danger.

2. The Show Safety Officer, or Nominee, has the power to instruct any Ground User to comply with the Society’s requirements at all times.

3. All heavy vehicles and floats must be parked in designated areas as directed by parking stewards. Owners / drivers are reminded that offenders of this requirement and those who indulge in excessive speed could be responsible for serious consequences in the event of an emergency.

4. Whilst all reasonable care is taken, the Society cannot accept any responsibility for any losses of, or damage or injury to or by, any livestock, exhibits, equipment, vehicles or any other property.

5. Trade exhibitors are asked to note that set-up is not to commence before Thursday, 14th June and all exhibits and related display equipment, trailers, buildings, etc. must be removed from the grounds by Tuesday, 19th June at the latest.

6. The Trade Site Coordinator will oversee Trade Exhibitors who are also asked to take all reasonable care in the case of working machinery, hydraulics, cables, chemicals, pumps, hoses, pools, power tools, saws, ramps, etc. All electrical leads and appliances must meet Workplace Health and Safety standards, in particular the requirement for all leads to be buried 75mm underground or be at least 2 metres aboveground. All electrical equipment that comes onto the grounds must have a current test and tag label attached or the equipment cannot be used. These requirements will be monitored by the District Workplace Health and Safety inspector.

7. Dogs are not permitted in the Showgrounds at any time unless it is a Guide or Companion Dog. Any dog found will be impounded as per Council regulations.

8. Government regulations re Smoking

To comply with these regulations there will be no smoking on the grounds other than in signed designated areas set aside specifically for smoking.

MEMBERSHIP: Adult Membership is open to anyone with the annual Fee being set at $40.00 per person which is due to be

paid by 31st March 2018. Junior Memberships are also available for anyone under the age of 18 years (as at the date of the 2018

Show) with the Annual Fee being set at $15.00 per person.

This Adult Membership will entitle you to:

Unlimited access to the Show; Voting rights at any General Meeting and the Annual General Meeting; One (1) car pass for the duration of the Show; One (1) Guest Pass for the duration of the Show Reduced entry fees for all Sections

A Junior Membership will entitle you to:

Unlimited access to the Show; Reduced entry fees for all Sections

PLEASE READ SCHEDULE CAREFULLY AS CONDITIONS MAY HAVE CHANGED

1. DECLARATIONS – Horse Health Declarations are to be handed into the Horse Office before competing in any event.

2. SHOWGROUNDS ACCESS & PARKING – All horses MUST enter the Showgrounds via the Bli Bli Gates and exit via Crushers Ground. Drivers are asked to co-operate with Parking Attendants for the best parking arrangements and maximum safety.

3. NOMINATIONS – All entries to be entered online at www.sunshinecoastshow.asn.au. “Company” is your Stud Name, “Exhibitor” is the Owner’s Name, “Rider Name” is the Rider’s Name. There will be NO REFUNDS after nominations have closed on 12th June 2018 (except on production of a Veterinary Certificate). If a refund has been approved by committee, payment will be paid within four (4) weeks after the Show.

4. GRAND PARADE – Champions, Reserve Champions and First in Class Prize Winners, prior to the Grand Parade on Saturday 16th June, are expected to take their place in the Grand Parade. Prize Money will be withheld until after the Parade. You must present the ticket you will be given to the cashier.

5. PARADE OF CHAMPIONS – Champions and Reserve Champions are required to take part in the Parade of Champions on Saturday 16th at 2.00pm.

6. RIDER’S AGE – Saddle Horses and Galloways may be ridden by persons of any age or at the discretion of the exhibitors. Parents are solely responsible.

7. HARASSMENT OF JUDGES OR STEWARDS – It is necessary to remind competitors and their supporters that any person or persons who harass a Judge or Steward may be disqualified for the remainder of the day, or the duration of the Show, with all awards and entry fees forfeited. A Competitor may converse with the Judge only with the permission of the Steward in attendance.

8. PROTESTS – Any Protests must be lodged at the Ring Secretary’s Office within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the event with a fee of $50 cash which MAY be refunded if the protest is upheld. The only protests which will be considered are those may by Competitors in the relevant event.

9. DRUG TESTS – Judges and/or Stewards reserve the right to call for a drug test if considered appropriate. Competitors must comply with drug testing if requested.

10. DISTRICT DAY – Friday – District events are open to those horses owned by bona fide residents of Sunshine Coast area. Mare and Gelding Classes can be ridden as Open or Hunter Horses. OPEN DAY – Saturday – Horses eligible to compete as Open OR Hunter Classes only NOT BOTH.

11. MAIDEN – Maiden is a horse or a rider which has never won a first prize in any similar competition to that for which it is competing at an Agricultural Show. Once a horse has won a Maiden event it is no longer eligible.

12. NOVICE – Novice is a horse or rider who has not won an Open Championship prize at an Agricultural Show.

13. STALLIONS – Stallions are eligible for Hunting, Jumping, Breed or Western events unless otherwise specified. All stallions competing in led-in classes must have a Stallion Bit or chain and lead.

14. GALLOWAYS – Galloways over 14hh up to and including 15hh. 15. BREED CLASSES – Entries to be registered with the appropriate Breed Society. Ridden classes to

commence after Supreme Led. 16. MEASURING – Measuring will only be done when a dispute is lodged and the Ring Master will have

the final say. 17. STABLING – Limited stabling is available at a cost of $14 per day or $30 for the duration of the Show.

All stables booked will incur a $20 per stable Cleaning Bond for the Show. This bond MAY be refunded after the Show if the stables are left clean to the Stewards satisfaction. Stables must be applied for utilising the Stables Application Form. No payment – no stable. Stables will only be allocated when full payment is received.

18. LIABILITY – All horses are stabled at the Owner’s risk. The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society Inc takes all care but no responsibility whatsoever. No Refund unless cancellation is received by Tuesday 12th June 2018. Enquiries re Stable Bookings on the day are welcome.

19. CAMPING – Limited sites are available on the grounds at a charge of $10.00 per day and strictly within the site area as defined by Stewards/Attendants.

20. PROGRAM CHANGES – Stewards reserve the right to alter or cancel any event during the Show. 21. TRUCK AND FLOAT PARKING – Competitors who intend staying and camping for the three (3) days

and have paid stable and camping fees MUST park as directed by the Stabling Steward. NOTE: Strict Parking Conditions Apply – Any vehicle NOT towing a Float will NOT be permitted in the Livestock area. FREE Float and Truck Parking is provided as directed by the Parking Steward.

22. To comply with insurance all entrants must complete a Waiver (attached & available on website);

DISCLAIMER: The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society (SCASS) shall not be responsible for any accident

that may be caused to or by an exhibitor, members of the general public or competitor and will not, under any

circumstances, be responsible for any losses or non-delivery of livestock or entries of any kind, or any injury or

damage done thereby. Persons contravening any of SCASS’s rules/regulations shall forfeit any prize awarded. SCASS

reserves the right to refuse or cancel, or require any entry to be removed at any time. Exhibitors shall accept the

decision of the Stewards/Judges appointed by SCASS as final. The decisions of the Sunshine Coast Agricultural

Show Society Committee are final.
