For the main production of my magazine, I used Photoshop CS5 – this including adding text, logos and images to the front cover, contents page and double page spread. The
overall house style and layout of the magazine was made in Photoshop.

I used Lightroom CS5 to edit the raw images for my magazine, I used the program to edit the images (such as making a black and white background, and enhancing the colour) before placing them into Photoshop for further editing (spot healing etc...) and then being added to the magazine.

I used DaFont.com to find the fonts I used for each part of my magazine. These included fonts for the title, main cover line, main body text and skyline.

I used Pages to write the main body text for the double page spread, this was better that writing the text straight into Photoshop as it gave me a spelling and grammar checker. Once the text was written, I simply dropped it into Photoshop.

I used Screenflow to record the stages of making for my magazine. This is a ‘screencasting’ program that records the monitor of my computer, allowing for an easy yet detailed account of how I made the magazine.

Once the stages of making had been recorded I used iMovie to edit the video, I had to cut the video so to only include the relevant sections, and speed it up (so that the actual videos were about 3-4 mins long each) – I was then ready to upload the videos.

Once each ‘stages of making’ video was edited, I uploaded them to YouTube.com - this made it easy to provide a link, from my blog, to each video (rather than
uploading each video individually to the blog).

I used Blogger as the blogging site for my work, this gave my a place to plan, record and analyse all aspects of the planning, creation and evaluation of my coursework.

I used SlideShare to create the slideshow you can see – it allowed me to annotate and add several images easily to the blog.
