The World Branding Forum announced the winners of its 2016 World Branding Awards at a prestigious ceremony at Kensington Palace in London. The British Council was recognised as “Brand of the Year” for the “Education – English language” category. The winners were judged through three streams:brand valuation, consumer market research, and public online voting.The Awards celebrate the achievements of some of the greatest brands around the globe.With 70 percent of the scoring process coming from consumer votes, winning brands have managed to build a good trust score with their consumers.

The British Council is a world leader in English language teaching. Teaching English forms part of our purpose as an organisation to build engagement with the UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people as well as supporting arts and education.

We’ve been teaching English for more than 80 years and have helped more than 100 million people in 100 different countries improve their English skills and build their confidence. We operate three adult centres at Euljiro, Gangnam, and Jamsil and three young learner centres at City Hall, Seocho and Mokdong in Seoul.

All our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest inter-national standards in English teaching with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching English to adults. All our teachers are educated to degree level or possess an equivalent qualification and they have a certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as the Cambridge University CELTA orTrinity College London CertTESOL.

All our courses have been designed by professional,well-qualified and highly-experienced teachers with practical learning objectives linked to the Common European Framework of Reference forLanguages. Free active social programme, myClub

myClub is a free active social programme that gives you an extra opportunity to practise your English outside of the class-room environment. Each month there are a wide range of language-based, cultural and social events (e.g. Afternoon Tea, Grammar Club, Pronunciation Club, Ted Talks etc.) which can help you practise your English in a friendly, inclusive, and stimu-lating environment, and give you the chance to meet new friends and interact with British Council teachers.

Afternoon Teaimprove your English speaking skills by talking to classmates about your daily life including school, work, and weekends.

TED TALKSLearn new words, get new idea and practice your English speaking and listening skills via TED TALKS.

We love Sherlock!Analyse the characters from BBC <Sherlock>, and practice English speaking by repeating the lines.

Shakespeare Lives!Read some of Shakespeare’s plays, study them with a teach-er and debate about with your classmates.
