WHY SHOULD SCHOOLS FUND MEDIA STUDIES?

“”Matt Hancock, March 2018

“What business in the 21st century can you think of that doesn’t use a piece

of media in some form or another?”

EVERYBODY KNOWS…

Key ways to raise funds for your media department - CREATE BRAND AWARENESS!

Schools should have a good marketing plan and Media Departments can contribute to the marketing of the school - especially in Sixth Form - so ask for an allocation of the marketing budget then make promotional films for the school as a whole and feature the media department!

Develop the reprographics and media departments into professional operation and offer printing and design services to local business, include video making services to organisations such as the council

Consider fund raising ideas such as an on site car boot sale or auction off old camera kit etc…

Host Oscar Days at local cinema’s, sell adverts to local parents to show on the big screen before your Oscar ceremony!

Have a media “history” day and ask parents to bring in / donate any old technology (old record players, vinyls, mobiles, disk drives!) and display it as a museum at the back of a classroom.

PLOUGH ANY EXTRA CASH INTO YOUR FACILITIES BECAUSE
