Our unique manufacturing technology allows Coating Center to make these products extremely cost efficiently. Most particularly, in our unique production methodology in manufacture of the material, we are able to eliminate any gap between the encapsulation and the core, even when making complex square or rectangular shapes. Thus, the seal capability, performance and particularly life is greatly extended. This, along with the attention we have paid to material specification and design and most particularly, advanced formulations of Silicone to reduce it’s compression-set by 40% results in a seal that will outperform and outlast alternative PTFE Tank Lid seals. The result is that this is the lowest-cost PTFE Tank Lid seal on the market, by some way, when one considers the life expectancy of our seal against the alternatives and the costs.

Tanktec® Ultraseal™ Range
Ultraseals are manufactured from our optimised material formula Silicone rubber and FEP encapsulation, with PFA encapsulation available to production order. Based on our broad experience and extensive testing, we have developed both superior performance Silicone rubber and FEP encapsulation to assure best possible sealing capability and seal service life. The Silicone rubber is specially compounded to provide 40% better compression set and increased deformation resistance, whilst the FEP encapsulation has been optimised to increase tensile strength to further improve tear/crack resistance and give the optimum cost/performance.
Unlike elastomeric Tank Lid seals, which are only resistant to a limited range of chemicals and are prone to chemical attack and/or require changing dependent upon which chemicals are being transported. This adds significantly to costs and potential seal failure. Or braided Tank Lid packings, which have very limited to zero pressure holding capability and become contaminated by each individual cargo and therefore should be regularly changed, Ultraseals offer exceptional performance benefits, including:Ultraseals have near universal chemical resistance, with the exception of some alkali metals (molten or in solution), Fluorine and by some rare fluorinated compounds and complex halogen compounds at high temperatures and pressures.
Ultraseals can be used within the temperature range from -60°C to +205°C (+260°C for PFA encapsulation) and pressures up to 6 Bar, depending on the Tank Lid design.
Our material developments and processes allow us to produce not only superior products in standard Round Sections with absolutely no gap between the core and the encapsulation, but also to produce Square, “D” and Rectangular Sections, without gaps and weak points at the corners that are necessary from the production via standard techniques. As such, not only is our product superior, but it is produced far more cost efficiently and with the even greater savings of superior performance and life.
Ultraseals have been designed with the aim of market leading seal capability, performance and service life against any other alternative product in the market, at an extremely competitive price. Coating Center utilizes in-house material expertise, advanced production techniques and application knowledge to research and develop what are the optimum shapes, materials, dimensions and production techniques for each Tank Lid application.
In addition, not only have we focused upon the materials and design of the seal, we have considered other factors to maximise the seals life. Ultraseals are endless and can normally be fitted without any tools, thereby eliminating any damage while fitting. Optimum seal performance requires optimum seal compression. We therefore offer calibrated, pre-set torque wrenches to overcome the most common cause of premature seal failure.
We also provide an unique seal removal facility in order that the Ultraseal can be removed from the recess without damage. The Ultra seal can then be easily cleaned, inspected and potentially re-utilised.
