Registration Fees Early Bird Registration Fee is $795 for members until July 1. Fee after July 1 is $845 for members. Non-member Registration Fee is $895.

Spouse/Guest Fees We encourage you to bring your spouse/guest to share in the fun and excitement of Tucson and the Casino Del Sol Resort. Registration is $350 and includes all meals and events.

Cancellation Policy 50% of registration fee per registrant will be refunded if cancellation is received before August 1, 2016. 25% of registration fee per registrant will be refunded if cancellation is received between August 2 and August 15.

No refunds will be given after August 15, 2016, however, substitutions can be made.

Transportation A rental car is the best way to enjoy the Tucson area. However, transportation to and from the Tucson International Airport (TUS) can be arranged with Arizona Stagecoach by calling 520-889-1000 or online at www.azstagecoach.com. Taxis are also available at approximately $25 each way.

Dress Dress is casual throughout the conference. Meeting rooms can get chilly and take time to warm up so a light sweater or jacket is recommended.

Hotel Information Our room block runs from Wednesday, September 21, through Saturday, September 24 with the option of staying 3 days pre or post at our conference rate of $139 per night.

Reservations should be made by calling the hotel directly at 1-855-SOL-STAY (1-855-765-7829). Book early because after August 30, 2016, rooms will be based on availability and, during this time of year, the property sells out quickly for the weekends.

Hotel parking is free in both the garage and surface lot. Free Internet access is included throughout the property.

Children’s Miracle Network Luncheon And Raffle

Friday, September 23, 12:30 p.m.The Children’s Miracle Network works with premier hospitals and foundations in North America to provide compassion and care to all children. Our conference will once again host a fundraiser to assist the Children’s Miracle Network in making a difference in the lives of so many children and their families.

This year we are requesting that credit unions make cash contributions to our fund raising efforts. A small portion of the donated amount will be used to purchase items that will be raffled off at our CMN Luncheon. Of course, the raffle tickets will be SOLD to those who would like a chance to win — after all it’s for the kids. We will also have our ever popular 50/50 raffle.

SpeakersKEYNOTE Major Dan Pantaleo is originally from Roseville, MI and currently lives in Stafford, VA. A motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur and retired Marine Corps Officer, his career in the Maarine Corps (1985-2005) is punctuated by his service at the Pentagon during the attacks on 9/11 where he led recovery operations. His highly successful book, Four Days at the Pentagon, details many of the recovery efforts that occurred at the Pentagon and serves as a template for leadership actions in chaotic, confusing, and crisis situations. The proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the Wounded Warrior Regiment.

CYBER SECURITY/EMERGING RISKS Bryan Fury joined Corporate One in 2005. He is responsible for providing Corporate Ones senior management team with guidance on IT security and IT risk. His primary duties include Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Vendor Management and Business Continuity Planning.

Before serving Corporate One, Fury was a Technology Risk Management Professional/Engagement Leader with Jefferson Wells and an Information Security Officer with the First National Bank of Slippery Rock. Fury holds a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University and a master’s degree from Robert Morris University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control, and a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP).

FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILTIES FOR BOARD MEMBERS/BANK SECRECY ACT TRAINING Dan Mahalak is the President & Managing Partner of Cindrich, Mahalak & Co., P.C., a CPA firm specializing in the credit union industry. He joined the firm in 1980 upon graduating from Eastern Michigan University and became a partner in 1988. He is a certified public accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).

Throughout his tenure, Dan has been responsible for hundreds of credit union audits, and worked in fraud/embezzlement investigations, including filing bond claims, working with authorities, and testifying in criminal proceedings. He also works with credit unions in budgeting and forecasting, asset-liability management consulting, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, human resources consulting, regulatory consulting, and a variety of other consulting projects. He is a frequent speaker on topics related to the credit union industry on both a local and national level. He has written articles for several credit union publications.

SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE INTERIM AUDIT PROCEDURES Julie A. Kappenman, Director of Association Compliance Services at Mountain West Credit Union Association, has been involved in the credit union movement since 1989. She began her career in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she worked as an Accounting Intern for a large credit union. She was then hired by the National Credit Union Administration, (NCUA) where she held the positions of Examiner and Economic Development Specialist, (EDS). Julie left NCUA in 2006 and gained experience in operations by working as a Branch Supervisor and Interim CEO for credit unions in Wyoming and South Dakota. She joined the Mountain West Credit Union Association in 2012 where she currently holds the Director of Association Compliance Services position. Julie has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Southwest State University and currently resides in Wyoming.

SpeakersTHE CHALLENGE OF CHANGE Jack McCall is a graduate of the Tennessee School of Banking at Vanderbilt University, and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University, Jack McCall has devoted much of his career to the financial service industry.He helps businesses and individuals perform more effectively in a world marked by constant pressure and accelerated change. His insights are penetrating and his style is refreshingly entertaining. Jack’s skill for getting to the heart of the matter is uncanny.

ECONOMIC UPDATE Steven Rick is the Chief Economist for CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wisconsin. His primary responsibilities include conducting strategic research, analysis, and forecasting of the financial services industry with special emphasis on the consumer and credit union markets.

Steve’s forecasts serve as a starting point for the strategic planning process and help to create a clear understanding of the underlying trends and links between the general economy, the financial services industry, and CUNA Mutual Group’s policy owners.

RISK MANAGEMENT IN POST EMV ERA Steve Ruwe leads the enterprise-wide risk management strategy at PSCU with a focus on preventing fraud and minimizing risk in the credit and debit card portfolios of Member-Owner credit unions. Advocating risk management practices for the industry, Steve served as the Chairman of the Credit Union Risk Council. Prior to joining PSCU, Steve served as Visa USA’s Executive Vice President of Operations and Risk for 13 years. Steve has testified as a risk management expert before Congress on issues related to data security, Internet gaming, and Internet pharmacies. He has served on the Board of the Economic Crime Institute. Steve is a proud graduate of Western Illinois University.

NCUA’S NEW “S” IN THE CAMELs RATING SYSTEM Frank Santucci joined First Empire Securities, Inc. in September 1985 as a Fixed Income Specialist. Between 1985 and 1993 he worked with hundreds of institutional investors nationwide assisting them in the purchase and sale of fixed income securities.

In January 1994, Mr. Santucci was promoted to his current position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Asset Liability Management Services. His primary responsibilities include the administration of First Empire’s Asset Liability Management Team and Financial Strategies Group and the development of balance sheet and investment portfolio strategies for clients of the firm. Mr. Santucci is also the principal author of the Balance Sheet Management Services’ ALM Model. In addition, Santucci is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences on various ALM and risk management techniques, as well as current industry trends.

EMERGING TRENDS Keith Riddle is Corporate One’s SVP, Chief Product Management Officer. Keith has more than 30 years of financial services experience in direct sales, product and partnership development, and marketing and strategic planning. He also has experience in payment processing technologies, cloud computing and managed solutions offerings, online banking platforms and personal financial management software, EFT/Debit/Credit/Prepaid processing platforms, and check and ACH processing.
