Why should you attend Agribusiness 2015?Sustainability is a much used, often abused, term today. In addressing
the subject at Agribusiness 2015, we start from the premise that a
sustainable business is one that operates efficiently and profitably,
delivering benefits to shareholders, employees, customers, other
stakeholders and the environment.
For over a decade, AIC has been committed to a ‘modern,
sustainable and commercial agriculture’. Agribusiness 2015 is fully
in tune with our commitment as Chief Executive David Caffall will
explain in his opening address.
Governments have long had sustainability on the agenda and our
political session with Defra Minister of Agriculture George Eustice, MP and Stuart Agnew, MEP for UKIP aims to understand how this
agenda will affect agriculture and the agribusiness sectors.
NFU President Meurig Raymond will provide the view from
the farming industry and the range of issues that he sees influencing
Britain’s farms within the broader agenda set by Brussels.
Finance is crucial to the sustainability of any business and
Rabobank’s Suzanne Pera will undertake the ever popular session
addressing factors that will affect the farming industry in the broader
economic context.
A European context to the day’s proceedings will come from
Ruud Tijssens, who is the Director of Corporate Affairs at Agrifirm
and currently President of the European animal feed trade
association FEFAC.
Peter Kendall will take to the podium in his new role as Chairman
of AHDB, providing a view of the challenges of sustainability to the
various sectors served by this leading levy organisation.
The challenges of climate change and carbon accounting
across Europe will be themes of Richard Heathcote of the Cool
Farming Institute.
Our agenda ensures there will be time to debate the key matters
raised by our speakers along with periods for networking with
colleagues from across the sectors that AIC serves.
All in all, a day not to be missed to help you establish how your
organisation can address the Sustainable Agrisupply Agenda.
Who should attend? Agribusiness 2015 has been devised to provide information and
stimulation for senior executives and those on the career ladder within
many organisations including:
• AIC Members • Agribusiness companies • Government and policy makers • Trade bodies
• Food processors and retailers • Other allied industries
Welcome to
Welcome to this year’s AIC conference ‘Agribusiness 2015 – Growing the sustainable
agrisupply chain’, which yet again promises to be THE agribusiness event for the agricultural supply industry. Whether you are a member of AIC, stakeholder or interested party we have attracted a high calibre list of speakers that should inform, stimulate or even challenge your views on the market that you operate within. Agribusiness also provides the ideal opportunity to network with colleagues in your sector as well as providing a valuable set of exhibitors to view.
AIC looks forward to welcoming you to this important event.
