About SusquehannaSusquehanna is a selective, residential university that combines excellent academic programs with career-building professional internships and research opportunities. In fact, 90% of stu-dents complete an internship, research or other professional experience. Students also develop critical thinking, writing and communication skills, which prepare them for the job market or graduate school. Ninety-eight percent (98%) of Susquehanna graduates are employed or pursuing advanced degrees within six months of graduation. Our winning combination of relevant academic programs and professional experience not only gets students to their first job, but also ensures that they are able to adapt for a lifetime of personal and professional success.

We offer more than 100 majors and minors, the faculty-to-stu-dent ratio is 1:13, and our average class size is 19. Faculty members are mentors as well as teachers. The university is recognized nationally for our commitment to off-campus study through the Global Opportunities (GO) program. All students complete a cross-cultural experience for at least two weeks in the U.S. or abroad, which broadens their perspective and pro-vides them options. In a time of geopolitical and economic com-plexity, they are better equipped to connect with people from other backgrounds, be they coworkers or clients.

Our courses are taught by exceptional professors, not graduate students, who are accessible and eager to collaborate. Students benefit from a curriculum that is both innovative and flexible. Susquehanna has a School of Arts and Sciences and the Sigmund Weis School of Business. Our business school is AACSB-accred-ited, placing it among the top five percent of business schools worldwide. Other AACSB schools include Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

The quality of the academic experience, interactions with and support from faculty members, plus students’ Global Opportuni-ties (GO) experience, internships and research make them highly desirable job candidates when it’s time to launch their career. For students who enjoy service learning, our Johnson Center for Civic Engagement helps them get involved, plus some of our GO experiences include a service component.

Susquehanna students make friends, learn leadership skills and have fun through more than 150 student-run clubs and organi-zations, fraternities, sororities, service groups and 23 NCAA Di-vision III intercollegiate sports. Student-athletes compete within the Centennial Conference (football) and Landmark Conference, including baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, indoor and outdoor track & field, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swim-ming & diving, tennis and volleyball.

Athletic FacilitiesSusquehanna boasts one of the premier athletics programs in the Landmark Conference with 23 varsity sports teams.

While adhering to the philosophy that Susquehanna student-athletes are here first and foremost for a quality education, Susquehanna teams have still earned NCAA Division III national rankings in men’s basketball, men’s soccer, baseball, softball, track & field, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse over recent years. Track & Field athletes also routinely achieve All-America status at their respec-tive national championships. Susquehanna teams won 18 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championships in men’s and women’s sports during the decade of the 1980s. They added 21 more in the 1990s and nine more this century, as well as one Liberty League title and an Empire 8 Athletic Conference championship. Susquehanna has claimed four (2009–10, 2011–12, 2013–14, 2015–16) Landmark Confer-ence Presidents’ Trophy honors since the conference was formed and began competition in 2007-08.

ATHLETICS FACILITIESOver the past several years, Susquehanna’s athletics facili-ties have evolved into the finest in Division III.

JAMES W. GARRETT SPORTS COMPLEXA popular hub for student activity, the facilities provide award-winning design, modern equipment and enhanced opportunities for collegiate and lifelong fitness. The complex includes a 51,000-square-foot field house, Chris Vialonga ’93 and Colleen Supinski ’96 Sports Performance Center, a 4,000-square foot Athletic Training room, Clyde H. Jacobs Fitness Center, Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium, a swimming pool, an indoor rowing training center, racquet-ball courts, the Douglas Arthur ’49 (football practice) Field and a six-court tennis court complex that is home to the

varsity tennis teams. Offices and meeting spaces, locker rooms and Clyde’s Café are also part of the complex. The complex is named in honor of James W. Garrett, Susque-hanna’s head football coach from 1960 to 1965. He also served as an assistant coach and scout during a more than 30-year career in the NFL.

AMOS ALONZO STAGG FIELD at DOUG ARTHUR STADIUMThe 3,500-seat lighted stadium boasts a state-of-the-art ProGrass playing surface — replaced in the summer of 2013 — and has retained the familiar Stagg Field designa-tion, while the installation of lights prior to the 2002 sea-son permitted teams to play on-campus night games for the first time in program history. A video display board on the west end of the stadium, replaced prior to the 2013-14 academic year, is a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that few Division II or III schools in the country can dupli-cate. The stadium is home to the football team as well as the outdoor track & field teams that host the annual Jim Taylor Invitational each spring.

SASSAFRAS FIELDSOpened in September 2004, Sassafras Fields consists of a lighted, ProGrass, multi-purpose field (resurfaced in 2015) for soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, and a separate softball field which recently underwent renovations adding new dugouts and a new scoreboard.

HAROLD BOLLINGER ’39 FIELDSDedicated in 2001, Harold Bollinger ’39 Field is the home of the 2016 Landmark Conference Champion River Hawks. The field complex includes pro-style dugouts (2016), state-of-the-art scoreboard (2016) and bleacher seating for nearly 500 fans.
