What is a Wiki?•A Wiki is a website that let;s others join in to create and edit the content.•Wikis are always changing as people add content to it.•The word "Wiki" comes from Hawaiian language and means "quick".•The most famouse Wiki is Wikipedia. It is the largest reference web sites with almost 3 million articles.  

File Management - Creating a Folder

To create a folder on your desktop you

•Right click and click create “new folder”. •Give your folder a name •If you need to rename it right click and remame.

e.g. English, Irish, Maths, Cuntus míosúil etc

For this course I recommend creating the following folder on your desktop.

ICT Course 2010 - in this create the following sub-folders•Sounds/Music•Powerpoints•Pictures – project 1•Photostories•Downloads

•Tips – ctrl & a - selects all. ctrl & c = copies, ctrl & v = paste
