Since its inception in 2011, Wheels has raised over $600,000 in support of capital projects and the core programs offered at The Darling Home for Kids.

The Darling Home for Kids, situated in Milton, Ontario, is a place of joy, filled with the smiles and laughter of children engaging in unique and enriching experiences and exploring new and exciting activities. Our mission is to optimize the quality of the lives of children with life-limiting or life-threatening illness requiring complex and/or technology dependent care. Medically fragile children receive wonderful care in a beautiful, warm and home-

“The Darling Home for Kids isn’t just a place that takes care of our kids, it’s a place that takes care of us as a family.

It’s a home that is available to us due to your generous donations, and we thank you for supporting their mission.” - Jared and Francine

like environment, which provides comfort and a break to families facing the daily challenges of caring for a child with complex medical needs. Families are supported in knowing that there is a continuum of care from respite through to palliation and, when needed, end of life care.

Past projects have included the building of a wheelchair accessible playground, a tranquil therapeutic sculpture garden, renovations to a respite bedroom, the modernization of the medication room, and most recently the purchase and conversion of a new wheelchair accessible van.

"After participating for the first time in Wheels for The Darling Home for Kids, I truly felt as though I had gained the most from this experience. It is a truly special place and deserves more of our support. When I got home and closed out the evening with my family and gave everyone an embrace, I considered our good fortune in having two healthy boys but I also thought about how grateful I would be to make use of The Darling Home for Kids if our kids or family needed it. My very special thanks to everyone at The Darling Home for Kids for an amazing experience and for what you provide to people in need. Thank you!”
