WALK-IN REGISTRATIONThe Service Center is open for membership and program registration:

ONLINE & PHONE REGISTRATIONYMCA members can register online 24 hours a day! Vouchers that are already on your account, cannot be applied to your purchase online. Please give us a call if you need assistance.

PROGRAM PRICESYou’ll see two prices for every program. The first price is the YMCA member price, and the second price is the non-member price. Program Fees are shown as:

PROGRAM CREDIT & REFUND POLICYVOuCHERS OR REFuND • Cancellations made before the start date of the

program can receive 100% voucher or refund less the program deposit and non refundable program cost.

• Cancellations after the first meeting of the program can receive a 75% voucher or refund less the program deposit and non refundable program cost.

• Cancellations after the second meeting of the program will not receive a voucher or refund except for medical reasons with a doctor’s note and special circumstances at the branches discretion.

• Vouchers expire 12 months after date of issue. Vouchers are valid at any YMCA in San Diego County for any program or membership or service. A $5.00 voucher processing fee applies.

A CHECK REFuND can be issued with a $10 processing fee per person. Check refunds can only be issued for amounts over $20. Please allow two weeks for processing. The YMCA is not able to issue refunds directly to your credit card or in cash. Please note that deposits are non-refundable.

*Vouchers or refunds will not be given for dismissal due to behavioral problems or missed days due to personal reasons.

REACHING INTO OUR COMMUNITYWe’re out in our community working with the families most in need of YMCA support! Women’s Resource Center (WRC)We provide financial assistance for memberships and camps for those who have recently escaped domestic violence.

Armed Services YMCAA recent grant has helped us give family memberships and camps to military families stationed at Camp Pendleton.

Inclusion AidsWe provide designated staff members to give one-on-one attention to kids with special needs in our YMCA camp programs.

Joe balderama Recreation CenterWe’re partnering with the City of Oceanside in hosting after-school sports and recreational activities for kids in one of the highest gang neighborhoods in Oceanside.

YMCA MEMbERSHIPJOINING FEEJoining fees are an investment in the future of the YMCA facility. Joining fees are paid upon activation of any new membership.

MEMbERSHIP PAYMENTMembers may pay with an “easy pay” monthly payment plan through automatic withdrawal, or pay in full for a semi-annual (6 month) or annual (12 month) membership. You may have your fees withdrawn from your credit card, debit card, checking or savings account. Cancellations and all other changes to your membership must be received at least 10 days prior to your bank draft day. There is a $10 service fee on returned checks, non-sufficient funds and all other returned items unpaid by the bank. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

CHILD WATCH Child Watch is included with Family Memberships once per day. We will watch your children for up to 1 hour and 45 minutes one time each day. Our highly trained, and caring staff will lead your child in crafts, coloring, puzzles, free-play, story-time, dress-up, games, sports and more!

KEEPING KIDS SAFEAll staff are infant-adult CPR, First-Aid and AED certified, and are carefully background and reference checked. We maintain strict child to staff ratios - 4:1 infants to staff, 8:1 toddlers to staff, 10:1 kids to staff. Parents will be paged if a diaper change is needed. Please, no food or outside toys in Child Watch, and label any bottles or sippy cups you bring. For the health of everyone, please don’t bring sick children to Child Watch.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATIONParents must stay on the premises while their kids are in Child Watch. A YMCA ID card is required to check kids into Child Watch, if you do not have your YMCA card, please bring your driver’s license to Member Services. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

We also offer Kids’ Night Out seven times per year. Drop your children with their favorite Child Watch staff and enjoy a night out to yourself! See page 35 for more details.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSESAll Classes are 50 minutes in length, and equipment is on a first-come, first served basis. Members must be at least 13 years old to participate in Group Fitness Classes, except as noted.

ARTHRITIS EXERCISEA class designed specifically for people with arthritis. Gentle activities to promote joint flexibility, improve range of motion and maintain muscle strength. Taught by Certified Arthritis Foundation Instructor. BEGINNER YOGAA class for beginners using props such as yoga blocks and straps for modifications.

BENDER BARRE-NONE This interactive workout will show you how to use muscle elongating movement patterns to gain better balance, core stabilization and long lean muscles.

BETTER BALANCEImprove your balance and regain your confidence. Class format includes fall prevention exercises, gentle movement, leg strengthening exercises and beginning Tai Chi flows. Each participant has a chair for support as needed.

BOOTCAMPA high energy, hard core class with cardio drills, intervals, strength training, and plyometrics. Develop strength, stamina and agility using Bosu’s, balls, bands, weights and your own body.

CARDIO SCuLPT A complete overall body workout for all fitness levels. This class will combine cardio for calorie burning and body sculpting for strength and endurance. CHAIR YOGA Yoga while sitting on a chair. Modifications and self-pace will be emphasized.

CYCLE Designed to increase your muscular and cardiovascular endurance. All levels welcome

DRuMS ALIVE GOLDEN BEATS Sweat, tone and challenge your coordination. The stability ball is your drum and we provide the drumsticks. Participants may stand or sit. It’s a full body workout. This class is designed for YAA, but is open to everyone.

FAMILY BOOT CAMP A parent & child participation class for parents and kids 5 & up. FOREVER FIT I / IIA low-impact cardio, strength training, balance and stretching class. Hand held weights, resistance tubing and balls will be used. Participants will be seated on a chair.

KICKBOXINGA non-stop workout incorporating punches and kicks. All levels welcome.

PILATES Core and muscle strengthening, incorporating balance and flexibility moves.

POWER YOGA An advanced Yoga class incorporating intensive and challenging moves.

STEP & SCuLPT Cardio step moves with sculpting. Inter/Adv. level.

STRENGTH TRAINING Suitable for all levels, strength training is a resistance training program using hand weights, bar bells, bands, balls and much more.

WATER FIT Improve your aerobic endurance, build strength, and increase flexibility. Water weights and noodles are used. Swimming ability is not required. Y ACTIVE ADuLTS (YAA) LOW IMPACT& TONING A class specifically designed for our Seniors; however, everyone is welcomed. A combination of low-impact cardio and toning using a variety of equipment.

YOGA Slow down and enjoy the blending of mind, body and spirit through yoga poses, breathing and sun salutations. All levels welcome. A yoga mat is recommended.

ZuMBA GOLDInstructor breaks down Salsa, Reggaeton, Cumbia, and Meringue for an exciting dance workout.

FAMILY YOGAEnjoy the basics of Yoga as a family.Instruction and activities designed for 5 and up.

Children ages 9-13 may use the Fitness Center when they are accompanied by a responsible adult and have completed a Fitness Center Orientation. Teens 14 & up do not need a parent present while using the Fitness Center but must complete a Fitness Center Orientation to learn how to use the equipment. Orientations are by appointment only - stop by Member Services or call 760.758.0808.

Children ages 5 & up are welcomed to participate in our Family Fitness Classes and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Teens 13 & up can participate in our Group Fitness Classes. Please see our monthly calendar for a schedule of our Family Fitness Classes and Group Fitness Classes.

Parent/Child ballet and Tap: 18 mo-3 yrsSunday 9:00am-9:40amThis class allows parents to be a part of their child’s first dance experience. It is geared towards getting the tiny dancers comfortable and familiar with the dance class setting. Families will participate in a variety of dance-based activities.

There are two recitals, one in December and one in June. Participants who want to perform in the recital will need to sign up for 2 sessions leading up to the recital month. The recital is optional and requires the purchase of a costume.

SWIM LESSONSThrough our aquatics program, youth and adults can learn positive values and vital safety skills through swimming. Please sign up early because lessons fill up quickly. Sign ups close the Wednesday prior to the start of each session. In certain circumstances it is still possible to register by speaking to our Aquatics Director.unfortunately, we do not offer make-up classes. Credits and refunds require a doctor’s note for processing and approval.

PARENT/ CHILD (6 mo- 36 mo)The Parent/Child Aquatic Program promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children from six months to three years of age and their parent or other trusted adult. The lessons include swimming skills, basic water safety, increased self-esteem, and fun. Classes are 30 minutes in length. Parent/Guardian must remain in the pool for the entire lesson.

PIKE (AGES 3- 5) Beginner I Requirements to enter this level: No prior swimming experience. Class Curriculum: Kicking, front and back floating, breath control, and independent swimming.

EEL (AGES 3- 5)Beginner II Requirements to enter this level: Must be comfortable in the water and able to put face in the water and blow bubbles. Class Curriculum: Front/back/side stroke, front/back float, submerging face in water and blowing bubbles.

RAY (AGES 3- 5) Advanced Beginner IRequirements to enter this level: Must be comfortable and able to swim independently for 10 feet on back and on front with face in the water. Class Curriculum: Freestyle (front stroke), Backstroke, front/back float, breath control, deep water orientation, and build endurance.

SWIM STANDARDSPOOL USE POLICIESChildren Ages 10 And UnderChildren ages 10 and under MuST have a parent present and in the pool with them at all times unless the child can pass the deep end test. If a child passes the deep end test, the parent may stay on the pool deck.Swim tests must be taken every day to go in the deep end. Children ages 8-10 may receive a lap swim card and swim laps if they pass the lap swim test. If a child passes the lap swim test, they may swim in the water with their parent on the pool deck. If a child does not pass the deep end test, they must either wear a life vest, or be within an arm’s reach of their parent. Children may be in the activity pool alone if they are tall enough to go on the slide (48 inches.) Parent must also stay on the pool deck.

Children Ages 11 - 12Children ages 11-12 may be in the pool alone if they pass the deep end test. Swim tests must be taken every day.Parents MuST remain in the facility.

Children Ages 13-17Children ages 13-17 may be in the facility alone, and in the pool alone providing they pass the deep end test.Swim tests must be taken every day.

Pool Rules● One long whistle sound means clear the pool immediately!● Non-swimmers are allowed in shallow water only (water lower than the person’s armpits).● Only Coast Guard-approved PFD’s are permitted. • Walk, do not run. • No sitting or standing at pool’s edge. The pool’s edge must remain clear. • Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained. • Gum, chewing tobacco, food or candy is not permitted in the pool or on the pool deck. • Glass containers of any kind are not allowed in the pool area or the locker rooms. • Boisterous or rough play, dunking, splashing, yelling, diving or jumping haphazardly, snapping of towels and any other improper conduct causing undue disturbances in or about the pool area is prohibited. • Toys, balls, inner tubes, inflated boats, floats, etc., are not permitted in the pool, except for swim lesson times. • Kickboards will be provided for use by lap swimmers only. Kickboards may not be used as floatation or instructional aids during open swim. • Patrons are not to visit or engage in unnecessary conversations with the lifeguards while they are on duty. • Individuals must change in the locker room or family changing areas. Nudity is not allowed on deck. • Only employed/Certified YMCA swim instructors are permitted to provide swimming instruction to YMCA members and participants.

Learn Lifesaving Skills through the American Health and Safety Institute.With over 30 years experience, Health & Safety Institute (HSI) is a proven industry leader and preferred provider of emergency care and safety training. HSI training materials are easy-to-use and innovative. Adhering to the most current scientific guidelines, standards, and expert recommendations, HSI programs offer students new ways to learn lifesaving techniques.

CPR/AED for the Professional RescuerThis expert-level program helps keep healthcare professionals prepared and ready to respond as they encounter life-threatening emergencies, provide basic life support, and respond to choking and other airway obstruction incidents. ASHI’s CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Course includes an online training that must be completed prior to class start, four hours in-classroom training, a digital copy of the ASHI CPR Pro Student Handbook, and the 2 year certification which will be emailed to the participant.

Basic First Aid ASHI Basic First Aid was created to help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2010 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace. Course includes an online training that must be completed prior to class start, two hours in-classroom training, a digital copy of the ASHI Basic First Aid Student Handbook, and the 2 year certification which will be emailed to the participant. HOURS Our programs operate from as early as 6:30am to as late as 6pm! We operate on all minimum days and offer Kindergarten care at select sites and times. CHILDCARE PAYMENTS There is a $50.00 non refundable registration fee due at the time of registration. Also due at the time of registration is a $100 non refundable deposit to secure your child’s fall enrollment. This $100 holding deposit will be credited to your September child care monthly payment. This deposit cannot be credited to any other programs. All monthly child care payments must be paid by Automatic Transfer System (ATS) from a credit or debit card on the 15th or a checking account on the 10th of each month. Fees are calculated on a set rate based on the 180 day school calendar, over a 9 month calendar period billed September through May. Child Care operates on days that school is in session. Day Camp is available on most holidays and teacher-in-service days; camp fees are not included in the monthly child care payment and are an additional fee.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT CLASSES Ages 3-5Mottino Family YMCA 8:30am-11:30am

Preschoolers will play games, use their imaginations and make new friends! Pick one of our fun themes to enjoy each session. Can’t decide on just one theme? Register for multiple days to enjoy more than one theme per session. Morning Snack is provided. Parents do not need to stay, but kids must be potty trained in order to participate.

MONDAY- SPORTS GALORECome learn the basics of group sports. Play t-ball, soccer, golf and much more. Each Monday will include a different sport. TUESDAY- SPIN. FLIP. KICK.Want to learn how to dance, do karate, or be a gymnast? You’ll spend the day with one of our Mottino Children’s Class teachers, learning how to groove, kick, or tumble. Each Tuesday will feature a different kids class.

WEDNESDAY- STORYbOOK ADVENTURECome learn a new fairy tale each Wednesday of the summer. Boys and girls use their imaginations and participate in activitiesrelating to each story.

THURSDAY- ARTS & MOREAre you the next Picasso? Arts & More provides you with the opportunity to express your individual talents. Each Thursday there will be a new art form.

FRIDAY- WATER ADVENTUREDo you love to play in the water? Water Adventure will bring time in the pool, water games and fun in the sun. Each Friday you will experience a new way to have fun with water.

Exceptions to age limits can only be made for children who are within 3 months of the appropriate age. YMCA approval is required for all age exceptions. If you pick up later than 11:30am you will be charged a $1 per minute late fee. Late fees must be paid at the Mottino Service Center the same day the late pick up occurs.

KIDS NIGHT OUT Ages 3-12; $25 I $33 ($3 Sibling Discount) Enjoy parents night out while your kids have fun at the Y. Your kids will enjoy playing with other children their own age. Each night includes a special theme, games, arts and crafts, dinner, and a snack.

May - Spring! Saturday, May 4, 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm Celebrate Spring by planting seeds, making fun crafts, and meeting new friends. Spaghetti will be served for dinner, we’ll be making “dirt in a cup” for dessert! June – Summer Splash Saturday, June 15th, 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm Celebrate the start of summer with a dip in our kids activity pool. Have fun with friends and enjoy summer- themed activity crafts! We’re serving pizza and veggies for dinner. Make sure to bring a swimsuit, towel, and an extra change of clothes!
