Join Coach Pete Lotus, his staff, and current and former Viking play-

ers for Viking baseball camps. Attendees will learn the skills and fun-

damentals of the game through the same methods that have pro-

duced numerous Catholic League Blue, Regional and Sectional Cham-

pionships over the past 10 seasons, and a 3rd place finish in the

state last spring.

camp for all skill levels, broken down by age groups. Coach Sexton

will teach campers the same fundamentals, offensive, and defensive

principles that he uses with the high school team and that led to the

most wins in over a decade this past season.

St. Laurence girls basketball coach George Shimko, the 2017 Daily

Southtown Coach of the Year and 2018 Regional Champion leads

this camp. In addition to his success at the high school level, Coach

Shimko has years of experience running camps at the youth level.

Attendees are sure to improve their skills at this fun and exciting

camp.

Head Coach and former NFL player Harold Blackmon will lead this

camp for all rising 4th-8th graders. The camp is open to all skill lev-

els and is no pads and non-contact. Come learn from the coaches

who have led the Vikings to 3 CCL titles, 2 semifinals and a quarter-

final appearance in the last 3 years.

Come experience the fastest game on two feet! From beginners to

experienced players, all campers will enjoy this action-packed camp

led by Coach Gaeger on the turf field. Attendees should bring their

own equipment, but rental equipment will be available.

Join coach Teagan Walsh, her staff, and players for exciting, skills-

based camps on all aspects of softball. Campers should wear spikes

and bring a glove and bat if they have one. The camp will be at the

Burbank Fastpitch Field at Macarthur Park on 83rd and State Rd.

Coach Darrell Reed will lead this camp focused on speed develop-

ment. Proper dynamic and static warm-up routines, foot placement

with shin-angling techniques, strength and power development, multi-

directional speed, agility movement patterns, reaction/response to

first step quickness, balance, and nutrition will all be covered.

Join Coach Reed for a strength camp that is open to all

athletes. Campers will learn basic safety and technique in the weight

room. They will also do a number of exercises to

strengthen their muscles and build cardiovascular endurance.

Coach Teagan Walsh will lead this camp that focuses on strength

training for female athletes. She will cover basic body weight and

dumbbell lifts that will teach young girls how to properly build

strength which will benefit athletes in all sports.

Coach Darrell Reed and his staff will develop your skills in the

various track and field events — sprints, distance, hurdles, long jump,

triple jump, high jump, shot put, and discus. No previous experience

Explore the world of sabermetrics and analytics. Campers will use the

same formulas professional teams use to determine the best and most

valuable players in their sport. This fun and innovative camp could be

the starting point to a career in your favorite team’s front office!

The STL band camps is for those who have completed at least a year of

instruction on an instrument. Students will participate in a weeklong

process of learning and performing concert music with STL band

director Mike Trovato.

Coding is an important skill in today's society. This introduction to

computer programming will expose students to critical thinking and

basic coding tasks. Using an online Scratch program, students will code

stories and animations using this language. No previous experience

necessary. St. Laurence computers will be used (no device needed).


DramaDramaDramaDrama July 9th—12th & 16th—19th 10—11:45 am 5th—8th Grade

Drama camp allows students to explore dramatic and theatrical arts in

a fun environment. Led by STL Players Director Brian Herman, along

with members of the STL Players, the camp will incorporate fundamen-

tals of acting, improv, and teamwork through fun games and activities.

Come learn how to be a leader from the premier leadership

program on the Southside! Since leaders are made, not born, this camp

will concentrate on the five best practices of a leader, how to use them in

Model UN campers learn about the world’s biggest challenges and work

together to find common solutions to these global problems. They will

learn about different countries and step into the shoes of UN diplomats,

all while having fun with other students passionate about making the

world a better place.

STEM is hands on learning that applies to the world around us. It builds

and teaches creativity, problem solving, life skills, ingenuity, and curiosity.
