2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC
The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality as to create
awareness different departments and associations are encouraged to conduct special lectures by eminent
resource persons. As a part of that activity the following programmes were conducted by various
associations especially by IQAC.
One day training program on how to face campus interview to the conducted by Mr. Venkatram
Bhat on 22/06/2017
Life Skill training program to all First year degree students in association with NIMHANS
Bangalore and Yuva Spandana by Venkatram Bhat on 03/07/2017
Orientation program was conducted by IQAC on 07 and 08 July 2017 for the first year students
Training program was conducted on 22/07/2017 Mr. Rajesh, an Auditor was the resource
person explained career opportunities in the field of auditing.
On 29/07/2017 blood donation camp was conducted by NSS . 52 Students donated the blood
On 06/09/2017 Anti drug program was conducted
On 15/09/2017 a guest talk was arranged by NSS, Mr. Venkatram Bhat was the guest
23.09.2017 Dr. Srinivas Assistant Professor, Dept of English attended a workshop at SVS
College Bantwala
On 26/09/2017 a workshop was arranged by Commerce and Management Association on the
topic Capital Market and Investment , Mr. Ramachandra Bhat was resource person

On 28/09/2017 Department of Economics conducted a program on demonetization
Rover Scout Leader training program was arranged in Kondaje, Mr. Govindaswamy B K
attended the training program on 3 rd October to 9th October 2017
On 14/ 10/2017 Women Forum conducted a competition on the topic rights of women. 120 girls
participated.
Dr. Srinivas Assistant Professor, Dept of English attended training program at NIMHANS
Bangalore regarding the Life skill on 12. 11. 2017 to 18.11.2017
Guest talk was arranged by the M Com Department on the motivational Theories. Mrs. Geetha
was the resource person.
Mr. Girish Shanbhogue and Dr. Udayakumar Shetty attended a training program at GFGC Car
street Mangalore regarding the ICT
Digitalisation of Library was initiated on 5th December 2017
December 18 and 19 PTA meeting was arranged for BBA and BA students.
December 20 program was organised on soft skill by Deshapande Foundation
Shri Sharada Consulting Services Kundapura,gave a talk on Income tax returns and Pan card as
well as pass port.
Mrs. Trupthi faculty member , Dept of English attended a workshop on Grammar at Canara
College Managalore .
On 10/ 01/ 2018 Electoral Literacy Club arranged a program on Millennium Voters Day.
Swamy Vivekanada birthday was celebrated on 12 January 2018.
Self Study Report was submitted to NAAC on 16/01/2018
NSS Special Camp was conducted at Kamalashile on 17.01.2018 to 23.01.2018.
On 25 January 2018 Electoral Literacy Club conducted National Voters Day was
conducted , Dr. Nagappa Gowda of Mangalore University inaugurated the program
On 25 January 2018 Department of Political Science arranged o special program on Human
Rights, Mr. Raghavendra Kini was the resource person.
On 25 January 2018 Kannada Forum was inaugurated by Mr. Narashimhamurthy.
On 25 January 2018 a special talk was arranged on the topic of Ambigarachowdayya and his
Vachanas. Dr. Nagappa Gowda and Dr. Rajendra S Nayak were the resource persons.
On 2nd Febraury Department of Economics initiated the project work to the students on the
topics of Self help groups, RUDSETI etc.

On Feb 8th the special talk was organised by Dept of Economics on the topic Union Budget
2018.
Mr. Srikanth Assistan Professor , Dept of Political Science, presented a paper in National
Seminar at Rani Chennama University at Belagavi on 8th and 9th February 2018.
AISHE Report was submitted on Feb 10, 2018
One day trekking program was conducted by Rovers and Rangers at Metkalgudda.
Mr. Vijaya of Second B Com participated in intercollegiate competition and won first prize at
Richard Almeda College Navunda on Feb 10, 2018.
M Com students participated in UGC Sponsored Workshop at Govindas College Surathkal on
Feb 14-15, 2018.
32 students of Rovers and Rangers attended the five days National Service Camp held at
Shravanabelegola on Feb 16- 20,2018 under the leadership of Mr. Govindaswamy B K., Ms.
Arathi,and Ms.Shubhashree.
On Feb 22 COTPA 2003 , ill effects of Tobbacco was conducted Ms. Shruthi Shamanuru was
the resource person.
Three students attended the workshop Prerana 2018 at Mangalore conducted by Vishwa Konkani
Kendra Shakthi Nagar.
On 28 Feb 2018 College YRC and Indian Red Cross Society conducted blood donation camp .
55 Students and 8 Faculty members donated blood.
On Feb 28 NSS conducted program on HIV and Drugs .Ms. Veena Shetty of Jeevan Sangharsha
Udupi was the chief guest.
Feb 22 2018 onwards College sports and Cultural Competition were conducted.
On 03.03.2018 College Annual Sports Day was celebrated, Mr. Manjunath Shet and Sub
Inspector Mr. Raghavendra C of Shankaranaraya Police Station were the chief guest for the
program.
05.03.2018, Dr. UdayaKaumar Shetty, Mr. Yathiraju K. Mr. Girish Shanbhogue attended one
day workshop regarding new methodologies of accreditation of NAAC held at GFGC , Car
street College( Dr. P Dayananda Pai, P Sathish Pai College), Mangalore.
08.03.2018 College Women Forum celebrated World Women’s Day, Ms. Rekha Bannadi was
the chief guest of the programme.

09.03.2018 College Talents Day was celebrated. Students of different programs participated and
showcased their talents , and prizes were distributed.
10.03.2018 College Annual Day was celebrated Mr. Gopalkrishna Kamath and Prof. Manjunath
( Principlal of GFGC Hebri) were the chief guest.
Mr. Girish Naik , SDA of our college attended 3 days training program on E- Governance
conducted by District Training Centre , Mangalore .
19.03.2018, Mr. Jagadish G B of our college attended program of Campus Ambassador
(SVEEP) conducted by Udupi Zilla Panchayath.
22.03.2018 to 28.03.2018 Karnataka Open University Mysore conducted Workshop for NSS
Officers. Mr. Shivakumar and Dr. Srinivas attended the program.
24.03.2018 Govt First Grade College Byndoor conducted one day workshop on Total Quality
Management. Mr. Govindaswamy, Mr. Mohd Subani , Ms. Arathi, Ms. Shubhashree, Mr.
Vighneshwara were attended the program.
22. 03.2018 Mr. Srikanth S Assistant Professor, Dept of Political Science was resource person
for the topic Indian Parliament and its Functions held at Govt First Grade College Byndoor .
26.03.2018.College Kannada Forum arranged program ,Mr.Ganesh Gangolli was the chief
guest.He explained the importance and social message of folk songs.
Mr. Gangaraju Dept of Economics attended Life Skill Training Program at NIMHANS
Bangalore, from 01.04.2018 to 07.04.2018
07.04.2018 One Day workshop was conducted regarding how to face interview, how to write
CVs, Group Discussion, and Soft skills. Mr. Padmanabha B, and Ms Preema Rodrigues of
Department of MBA, Sahyadri College Mangalore were the resource persons.
Mr. Shivakumar , Dept of Commerce attended a training program on Life skills at NIMHANS
Bangalore from 22.04.2018 to 28.04.2018
