Effortless Translation Alignment Studio 2014 delivers advanced new alignment technology enabling the creation of powerful translation memories (TM) from previously translated documents. From within the translation environment, any Studio 2014 supported file can be used to create a new TM from any previous translation. Importantly, the order of segments is preserved providing the opportunity to leverage high-quality context matches where the preceding segment is used to measure the accuracy of a match.

Powerful Automatic Concordance Search - when no match is found for the current source segment in the translation memories. Also, to give you better leverage of your TMs, the maximum number of matches is increased from 49 to 99.

Merge files any time Merge translatable files “virtually” at any stage of the translation process. Files merged from within a project package are automatically split back when creating the return package.

Enhanced AutoSuggest Speed up your manual translation even if you are working with smaller translation memories. AutoSuggest dictionaries can be created with just 10,000 translation units.

‘Leaping’ Locked Segments Studio 2014 automatically moves to the next unconfirmed segment, ignoring all the segments which have been locked (not just PerfectMatch segments)

Drag-and-drop files in to the Editor Quickly open files for translation by drag-and-dropping files directly from your computer Desktop into the Editor environment.

Better handling of comments in Microsoft Word files Studio 2014 provides users with new options for handling comments:

• Comments may be extracted and identified as translatable or Studio comments

• Manage comments in the target text that can optionally appear in the final generated documents.

Ability to lock segments with 100% matches When pre-translating files, project managers can lock 100% matches and protect these segments from being edited during translation.

Locked segments report When analysing files users can now have a separate SDL Trados Studio report category with the locked segments in the project files, which directly feeds into getting more precise cost estimations.

Customize TM User ID Create your own user ID and track who has updated your translation memories. By default, Studio uses your Windows username as your TM User ID. You can now easily choose this TM User ID to identify who has changed what in your file based translation memory.

New Project Files take Source Language When adding new files for translation to your project, Studio automatically switches to the source language. Reference files can be dropped into the project target language and the “reference files” option selected.

New Display Filter for Repetitions

Filter by:

• segments that occur more than once

• segments that have repetition in them

• segments that are repetitions of other segments

Microsoft Windows 8 support Leverage the latest technology trends with Studio 2014. Language support in Studio 2014 is also up to date with Windows 8.

and Language Service Providers can work with any translator. Filter definitions are now available for third party bilingual file formats from products such as Wordfast.

• Post Editing Analysis Advanced community created plug-in for Studio 2014 to review two texts the differences following the post editing of machine translation.

• Client Quotations Download an app to help you use SDL Trados Studio 2014 analysis to quickly create quotations for your clients.

Advanced Project Management for SDL Studio GroupShare 2014

SDL Trados Studio 2014 connects to the new SDL Studio GroupShare 2014 which offers project managers a breadth of new features to simplify, accelerate and streamline any localization projects.

• Secure Task Assignment When sharing translation projects using SDL Studio GroupShare 2014, Project Managers can assign specific SDL Trados Studio 2014 users to work on different stages of a project. Known as ‘Phases’, this enables project managers to have complete control and visibility on who is working on what. Assigned translators can download, work on their allocated files and upload them back to the server, ready to advance to the next project phase.

• E-mail notification Upon task assignment team members will automatically receive an email notifying them of a specific job.

• Live access to SDL WorldServer Translation Memory Direct access to the most up-to-date version of the TM which is then updated in real-time while confirming translation from within Studio.
