created “how-to” (Procedures) lessons that are not taught in school but are considered important to a student’s future success in life.

Framework

The project uses the Simcoe County D2L

environment as a learning and collaborative environment. This is coupled with numerous Web Based (Web 2.0) and Social Media tools that enhance the experience and develop proficiency in digital literacy. Underlying this learning environment the project employs business start up model to achieve the end goal of creating a complex website and brand.

Learning FormatWe wanted to keep a consistent format that allowed us the flexibility to use a variety of tools but would be familiar enough to promote student success. Looks something like this:

2. Exposure to web 2.0 tool to demonstrate learning/collaboration/research

3. Demonstrate and exhibit work in Discussion Area

4. Read, Reflect and Respond

5. Consolidate through survey to drive the next phase
