    Spiritual Needs

As a secular scholar,Maslow ignores the

    spiritual dimension.

Spiritual needs tend to bereal needs vs. feltneeds.

We can gain access tospiritual needs by meetingphysical needs first.

Matthew 11:28Come to Me, all who are

weary and heavy-laden, andI will give you rest.

James 2:15-16If a brother or sister is withoutclothing and in need of dailyfood, and one of you says to

them, Go in peace, bewarmed and be filled, and

yet you do not give themwhat is necessary for their

    body, what use is that?

    Why Meet Felt Needs?

To some, focus on feltneeds is selfish and worldly.

To some, focus on feltneeds is the purpose ofministry itself.

    Balance is key.

    Felt needs are a

connection point. Felt needs can be

    obstacles.

    Felt needs provide anopportunity.
