Gingerbread House Making Event Saturday, December 1
Our younger residents and their parents are invited to the Back Deck at Sterling Country Club – Houston National Golf to make, keep or eat a special holiday treat. There is no charge for this event, but reservations are required and space is limited. Please RSVP now with the number of children and the number of adults attending to [email protected]. This event is open to residents only. You will be given a session time when you register.

Amenity AccessCanyon Lakes West is in the same homeowner's association as Stone Gate and both Canyon Lakes West and Stone Gate amenities can be shared by all residents.To sign up for Stone Gate amenities, residents of Canyon Lakes West must go to the Recreation Center at Stone Gate and show them a copy of their driver's license to show proof of residency and then they can register there. The two recreation centers are on different computer systems and in order to use the Stone Gate amenities, residents must sign up on their system and vice versa.

lately. Please do your part to keep your animals safe and contained on your property.
PLEASE CONTROL YOUR PETS!
It is a deed restriction violation if your pets are not confined to a fenced backyard or within your home. They must not be allowed to bark all night or cause a nuisance to your neighbors. They must also be on a leash at all times when not in a contained environment. It is also the pet owner’s responsibility to keep ALL areas of the community FREE from pet debris when walking your pets. Please remember that cats must also be confined. Animal Control can be reached at 281-999-3191.
If you happen to come across vicious dogs, or ANY loose dogs of this nature, please contact your local Animal Control at 281-999-3191. If you are familiar with the property address the pets belong to, please feel free to submit that information to PCMI – Lucy Robertson at [email protected] – to pursue the deed restriction violation. Notification and ample time must be given to the owner to correct the
Community Pet Controlviolation prior to any further pursuit by the Association.
Remember that all pets should always wear a collar with ID tag! Pet owners should also consider pet microchips for identification in case your pet looses their collar/ID tag.

BBQs, gardening, swimming pools and hikes…and mosquitoes. Enjoy the outdoors, but remember to protect yourself and your family from mosquito-borne diseases such as West Nile Virus. Your best defense against being bitten is simply to be prepared. Help Fight the Bite!
• When outdoors, use an insect repellent containing the activeingredient DEET, Picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus or IR3535 toreduce exposure to mosquito bites. Always apply as directed on thelabel. Do not allow young children to apply repellent to themselves;have an adult do it for them. • If possible, wear long-sleeved clothing and long pants when outdoorsat dawn and dusk which are peak mosquito biting times. • Place mosquito netting over infant carriers when you are outdoorswith infants. • Don’t feed the storm drains. Sweep up lawn clippings, leaves andtree limbs from sidewalks and driveways. • Remove/empty containers that can hold water such as flowerpots,buckets, tires, toys and plastic swimming pools. Birdbaths and petwater bowls should be changed at least twice a week. • Cover your boat or store in a covered place. Drain any standingwater and make sure the bilge pump is working. Turn over canoes,kayaks and small boats to store upside down. • Keep rain gutters clean and draining and repair any outdoorhousehold leaks. • When watering the lawn, be aware of any excess water that mayaccumulate. Fill in low areas around the yard. • When mosquitoes are noticed in your yard, spray with an outdoormosquito spray. Be sure to use according to directions on the label.To control mosquitoes in your house, use a “flying insect spray”. Besure to use according to directions on the label. • Household pets can be exposed to West Nile Virus (WNV).Contact your veterinarian for more information.
