DE Sich zu Hause einigeln heißt mitnichten sich abschotten. Im Gegenteil: Das neueste Mitglied der Mell Familie ist eine möbelgewordene Einladung zum gemüt lichen Stelldichein mit vielen Freunden, Familie oder Kollegen. Betonung auf „gemütlich“. Wusste man auf der guten alten Küchenbank, Modell „Truhe mit Lehne“, schon nach kurzem Sitzen nicht mehr, auf welche Gesäßhälfte man sein Gewicht verlagern sollte, sind die separat aufliegenden Sitz-kissen und die hohe Rückenlehne des jungen Kolle-gen aus der Design feder von Jehs + Laub so weich gepolstert, dass man auf ihnen endlos um die Ecke denken, reden, essen, spielen oder arbeiten kann. Und ob das in der Küche sein muss, sei dahinge-stellt . Das filigrane Metallgestell macht jedenfalls überall eine gute Figur.

EN Curling up at home certainly does not mean cut-ting yourself off from the outside world. On the con-trary, the latest member of the Mell family is a furniture invitation to a cosy rendezvous with friends, family or colleagues. With the emphasis on ‘cosy’. EN Introducing Roc. With its round basic shape, the chair has no direction, but it is never out of place. The half-shell of the delicate backrest is covered with fabric or leather and available in high and low ver-sions. A sense of security and comfort are included as standard features.

With Roc, even the two-part foot sections are rounded. The two facing aluminium brackets are pol-ished or lacquered, and provide Roc with the necessary support.

DE Kissen sind archetypische Sitzmöbel, besonders in den arabischen Ländern. Mit den Jalis Stühlen werden sie auf europäisches Sitzniveau gehoben und zum Stuhl verwandelt. Was aussieht wie ein Kissen mit Knick, ist ein aufwändig gepolstertes, stabil konstruiertes Sitzmöbel und ein Verwandter des gleichnamigen vom Orient inspirierten Jalis Sofas. Ein schöner Kontrast dazu ist die filigran wirkende Unterkonstruktion. Dazu passen, durch korrespondie-rende Unterteile, die Jalis Esstische mit einer filigranen Tischplatte in Lack oder Furnier. Diese ist jeweils an den Kanten abgeflacht – so wirkt sie besonders fein – fast als würde sie schweben.

EN Cushions are archetypal pieces of seating furni-ture, especially in Arab countries. With Jalis, they are raised to a European seating level and transformed into chairs. What looks like a cushion with a kink in it is in fact a complexly upholstered, stably built item of seat-ing furniture relative of the eponymous Orient-inspired upholstered Jalis suite. A pleasing contrast is provided by the seemingly delicate base construction. Matching these, thanks to their corresponding lower sections, are the Jalis dining tables with lacquered or veneered table top. This, in turn, is flattened off at the edges, giving it a particularly refined air — almost as if it were floating.

DE Seit 63 Jahren steht ein kleines rotes Herz für Sitzmöbel, die so ganz anders sind als andere. Aber was bringt dieses Herz zum Schlagen?

design prämiert, gleichzeitig aber in puncto Lang-lebigkeit und Fertigungsqualität konsequent kon-servativ sind. Denn obwohl COR mittlerweile mit mehr als 200 Mitarbeitern über 35 Millionen Euro Umsatz im Jahr erwirtschaftet, denkt das Unterneh-men im Kern immer noch genauso handwerklich wie seine Gründungsväter.

„Qualität in reiner Form“ lautete das Credo von Leo Lübke senior und seinem Partner, dem Fürsten zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg, die 1954 in Rheda-Wieden- brück mit der Fertigung von Polster möbeln be - gan nen. Ein Name für das junge Unternehmen war schnell gefunden: COR, lateinisch für „Herz“. Denn drei Her-zen zieren das fürst liche Wappen des Mitbe-gründers.

Zehn Jahre nach Un- ter nehmensgründung entwarf ein findiger COR Handelsvertreter namens Friedrich Wil-helm Möller ein Möbel, das flexi bel wie ein Baukasten, anpassungs- fähig wie ein Chamä-leon war und damit ziemlich bald ein Best-seller werden sollte. Lange bevor Trendfor-scher von „Cocooning“ sprachen, machte man es sich bereits auf Conseta gemütlich. Bis heute sind mehr als 820.000 Conseta-Ele- mente von Rheda-Wieden brück aus in die Welt gegangen. Kein an deres COR Möbel ist ein derartiger Long-seller wie Conseta, aber viele haben Design preise erhalten und Anerkennung, begeisterte Kunden und nicht selten Nachahmer gefunden. Heute steht das rote COR Herz für eine inter national anerkannte Design marke und ein Unternehmen, das sich im Grunde seines Herzens treu geblieben ist. Noch immer werden COR Möbel ausschließlich in Rheda-Wieden-brück gefertigt. Noch immer ist COR ein Unter nehmen in Familienhand (und wird seit 1995 von Gründer enkel Leo Lübke geleitet). Mit anderen Worten: Schöne, langlebige Polstermöbel sind für COR immer noch eine Herzens an gelegenheit.

Even though COR now turns over more than 35 million euros a year with more than 200 employees, at its core the company still thinks in workmanlike terms, just as its founding fathers did.

“Quality in its pure form” was the credo of Leo Lübke Senior and his partner, Prince Bentheim-Teck-lenburg, when they began manufacturing upholstered

furniture in 1954. A name for the company was quickly found: COR, the Latin word for heart. This was to reflect the three hearts adorning the co-founder’s royal coat of arms.

Ten years follow-ing the foundation of the company, an ingen-ious COR sales repre-sentative by the name of Friedrich Wilhelm Möller designed a piece of furniture which was to be as flexible as a box of bricks, as adapt-able as a chameleon and hence fairly soon a bestseller. Long before trend researchers spoke of “cocooning”, people were already relaxing on Conseta. To date, more than 820,000 Conseta elements have been sent all over the world from Rheda- Wiedenbrück. No other COR furniture has been such a longseller as Conseta, but many have found design awards

and recognition, delighted customers and, not infre-quently, imitators. Today, the red COR heart stands for an internationally recognised design brand and a company which has, in essence, remained true to its heart. COR furniture is still manufactured exclusively in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. And COR is still a family run company (and has been managed by the founder’s grandson, Leo Lübke, since 1995). In other words, long lasting upholstered furniture is still a matter of the heart for COR.

1954 Im Herbst 1954 gründeten Leo Lübke im Namen seines Sohnes Helmut Lübke und S. D. Adolf Fürst zu Bentheim Tecklenburg die Fabrik zur Herstellung von Polster möbeln. Die Firma wird auf Helmut Lübke eingetragen, der die Geschäftsführung im jungen Alter von 18 Jahren übernimmt und das Unternehmen 40 Jahre erfolgreich leitet.

Autumn 1954: the Upholstered Furniture Factory is founded by Leo Lübke in the name of his son Helmut Lübke and His Highness Prince Adolf of Bentheim Tecklen-burg. The company is registered in the name of Helmut Lübke, who takes over the reins at the ripe old age of 18 and goes on to steer the firm through successful years.

1969 Bereits 1969 begann die äusserst fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit mit dem Designer Peter Maly. Damals, relativ unbekannt, entwickelte er für COR die Sitzmöbelgruppe Trinom.

1969 sees the start of COR’s highly productive relationship with designer Peter Maly. A rela tive unknown at the time, he designs the seating group Trinom.

1970 In den siebziger Jahren wurde das Modell Orbis von Luigi Colani eines der erfolg reichsten Modelle.

In the seventies Orbis, designed by Luigi Colani, becomes one of the most successful furniture models of the day.

1972 In dem Jahr entstand die Sitzlandschaft Trio der Schweizer team form ag. Im Jahr 2015, 43 Jahre nach dem ersten Entwurf, entstand von den gleichen Designern eine „neue“ Trio, die an die Erfolge von damals an knüpfen konnte.

1994 Helmut Lübke übergab die Unter- nehmensleitung an seinen Sohn Leo.

2000Das Modell Arthe von Prof. Wulf Schneider & Partner gewann den red dot für höchste Design-qualität, die beste Auszeichnung, die das Design Zentrum NRW zu vergeben hat. Die Mitarbeiter-zahl betrug über 200 Personen.

Arthe, designed by Prof. Wulf Schneider & Partner, is awarded the red dot for High Design Quality, the highest honour the North Rhine-West-phalia Design Centre has to bestow. The company now has over 200 employees.

2002COR und interlübke eröffneten den ersten gemeinsamen Markenshop in Hannover. In diesem Flagshipstore wurden die beiden Marken exklusiv in neuem Ambiente präsentiert. Das Modell Scroll gewann kurz nach der Premiere auf der Internatio-nalen Möbelmesse in Köln den red dot: product design award.

COR and inter lübke open the first joint showroom in Hanover. In this flagship store the two brands are exclusively presented in a new ambience. The Scroll model wins the red dot: product design award shortly after its première at the inter national furniture fair in Cologne.

2004Das Jahr der Jubiläen. COR wurde 50 Jahre und Conseta 40 Jahre. Der Klassiker erhielt den interior inno va tion award in der Kategorie „best classic“. Ein weiteres COR interlübke Studio wurde in Berlin eröffnet.

2005Nach 2004 erhielt COR zum zweiten Mal den Designpreis des Landes NRW. Auf der IMM in Köln wurde erstmals der COR-Preis für Journalisten verliehen.

After winning once in 2004, COR again receives the Design Award of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The COR Award for journalists will be given at the IMM in Cologne for the first time.

2008Nach dreijähriger Bauzeit wurde das COR und interlübke Haus in Wiedenbrück eröffnet. Es beinhaltet auf 3000 m² neben den Aus-stellungen von COR und interlübke auch die Sammlung COR.

After a construction period lasting three years, the COR und interlübke Haus is opened in Wiedenbrück. On an area cover-ing 3,000 m² it contains the exhibitions of COR and interlübke as well as the COR collection.

2013Conseta, Shrimp Sessel sowie Quant Stühle gehen an Bord der MS EUROPA 2, die ab Mai 2013 für Hapag-Lloyd Kreuzfahrten in See sticht. Insgesamt werden 251 Suiten mit 681 Möbeln von COR ausgestattet.

Conseta, Shrimp easy chair and Quant dining chairs are going on board the MS EUROPA 2, which sets sail for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises starting in May 2013. A total of 251 suites with 681 items of furniture from COR.

2014Treue trägt: COR vollendet das 60. Unternehmensjahr und Conseta feiert 50. In München eröffnet ein neues COR interlübke Studio.
