No. 15, the following rule will be observed by the Police throughout the Colony:—- When a Warrant for the apprehension of any person has been issued by a Magistrate at any Station, the Police Ofiicer or Constable in charge of such Station will forward to each Police Station in the Colony, and to the Detective Ofiice in Perth, a copy of such Warrant, countersigned by himself, attaching to the Copy Warrant the Form No. 198, giving an accurate description of the person required to be apprehended. Arrests in all cases can be effected by the Police on such Copy Warrants. Circular Orders and Miscellaneous Information.

CO. 7««.—In accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance 39 Vic. No. 15, the following rule will be observed by the Police throughout the Colony:—-When a Warrant for the apprehension of any person has been issued by a Magistrate at any Station, the Police Ofiicer or Constable in charge of such Station will forward to each Police Station in the Colony, and to the Detective Ofiice in Perth, a copy of such Warrant, countersigned by himself, attaching to the Copy Warrant the Form No. 198, giving an accurate description of the person required to be apprehended.

Arrests in all cases can be effected by the Police on such Copy Warrants.

Officers in charge of Divisions will see that the Police in their Divisions make themselves acquainted with the provisions of the above Ordinance.

On 1st inst., from EUzabeth WooUam, Fremantle, —3 dress skirts, light tweed, jdaid shawl, and um­brella ; complainant was under influence of Uquor when making this report, and no further description could be got; enquiry wiU be made.—CI. 122.

On night of 3rd or morning of 4th inst., from the verandah of shop of Y. Boladeras, Goderich Street, Perth,—half a bag bran; description of bag, thin material, and marked 165 in black ink, and Y B with red ink.—C.L 123.

On 3rd inst., from dwelUng-house of Hannah Brown, Murray Street, Perth,-—8 yards light colored Unsey. Vide Apprehensions.—CI. 124.

On 24th ult., from the premises of T. Farmer, WilUam Street, Perth, the property of Frank A. Bailey, Perth,—grey colored Inverness cloak, with a velvet coUar, nearly new.—CI. 125.

On 1st inst., from a coat which was hung up in the yard of Customs Warehouse, Fremantle, the property of Frederick Duffield,—a .£1 note. No description given. Michael Nugent, free, suspected. —C.L 126.

On 4th ult., from person of John Cummings, at Eoebourne,—gold hunter lever escapement (French), no glass, steel hands, and second hands, white dial, outside of case slightly tarnished, No. 3376, figures 18 stamped under ring; also Abyssinian albert chain, with common key attached. On night of 26th ult., from premises of John Simpson, back of Greenough Flats,—an iron plough wheel and pin.—CI. 133.

On night of 3rd inst., from a house lately occupied by WilUam Capom, in Mill Lane, Perth, 9 pigeons, three are mottled, and are identifiable, the property of William Caporn. Young John Dyson, boy, strongly suspected.—C.L 134.

Apprehensions. THOMAS TOOLE, c.p., Eeg. No. 5718, by P.C.

McGlade, at Gordon Plains, Albany District, on 19th ult., on warrant issued at Busselton, 26th May, 1875; charged with deserting service of George Simpson; sentenced on 31st. ult., at Bunbury Police Court, to one month's imprisonment with hard labor, and also ordered to fulfil his engagement.

ANN DUNNE, by P.C. Sullivan, at Perth, on 3rd inst. MARY ANN TAYLOR alias B IG MARY ANN PLANT, by Corporal Archdeacon, Perth, 3rd inst. These two prisoners charged with breaking into, and stealing from the residence of Hannah Brown, Murray Street, Perth, 8 yards of light colored linsey; and also charged with breaking a quantity of tumblers and ornaments, with an axe.

CHAELES BENNETT, c.p., Eeg. No. 5716, alias CAPTAIN COFFEE, and JOHN H . EASON, t.L, Eeg. No. 10037, alias KANGAROO JACK, by Sergeant Campbell and L.C. McKay, at Fremantle, on 30th ult.; charged with breaking and entering the Customs Warehouse, at Fremantle, on night 26th ult., and stealing therefrom a ^-tierce of tobacco. Property recovered by police at Fremantle.

H. J. LEEDEE, publican, Avon Bridge Hotel, Northam, was charged by P.C. Maher, before Eesident Magistrate, on 1st inst., with seUing fer­mented and spirituous Uquors to John Wood, on Sunday, the 14th ult. Charged admitted; fined ^£50 and costs.

WILLIAM NEWALL, exp., late Eeg. No. 8093, was summoned to appear at Geraldton Police Court, on 27tb ult., charged with selling spirituous liquors without a Ucense on the 21st ul t ; also charged with supplying spirituous and intoxicating liquors to Johnny Mudginga; both charges admitted. Fined £^0 and costs on first, or in default 2 months' hard labour, and ,£5 and costs or in default 1 month hard labour on second.

Search Warrant executed by L.C. McKay and P.C. McKenna, on house of John Holland, exp., Fremantle, on 3rd inst., in search of spirituous liquor, believed to be kept by HoUand, for illegal sale, Holland being posted up in accordance with 64th Clause of 39 Vic, No. 5. Two bottles of rum found on Holland's premises.

Conditional Eelease 8328 Francis King, has reported leaving Perth, to reside in Canning District, Sth inst.

JOHN WAEEEN, exp., late Eeg. No. 6078, charged at Newcastle Police Court, on 3rd inst., by his wife mth violently assaulting her on 20th ult. Warren was bound over to keep the peace for 6 months, himself in ,£50, and two sureties of =£50 each. Sent to prison in default of sureties.

Deserters from Merchant Vessels. From barque Waterwitch, Frenchman's Bay,

Albany, on 28th ult.—Joseph Eay, Michael Eyan, James Moody, David Lonergan, and John Gully, seamen, free; P.Cs. Hayman and BoveU found Eay and Eyan same day concealed in some native huts outside the town; the other three were arrested on warrant by P.C. Learey, on 29th ult., near the 4-mile Perth road. They were sentenced at Albany Police Court, on 29th ult., to 21 days' hard labour, or untU the Waterwitch sails.

•—about 45 years, about 6ft. high; large raw boned native, and YULEGITE alias TOBEY, ab. native. Des­cription—about 22 years, about Sft. 9in. high; curly hair; are charged on wan-ant, issued at Blackwood, on 24th ult., withwUfuUy and maliciously spearing two sheep in August, 1875, the property of John Mann, Greenfields, Blackwood. Both these natives are under sentence of imprisonment at Eott-nest.

Deserting Wives, Families, Service, &c. NOOTALL, ab. nat. Description—Thin, about 19

years of age, about Sft. 4in. high, round visage; is charged, on warrant issued at York, on 30tli ult., with deserting the service of James W. Brown, Avon-dale Fark, in whose employ he was engaged as shepherd. Nootall is supposed to be between Nor­tham and Newcastle.

Description—Stout, age 42 years, height^5 ft. ^ | in . , red hair, grey eyes, round visage, fresh complexion. Marks—Mole on right cheek; mole on breast; is much freckled; square shoulders, and walks erect. Fenian. Absconded from Fremantle 8-30 am., 17th April, 1876. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler "Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

15. MAETIN HOGAN, Imperial Convict, Eeg. No 9767; arrived in Colony per convict ship Hougou­mont; received a Ufe sentence 21st August, 1866. Description—Stout, age 37 years, height Sft. 6in., dark brown hair, dark hazel eyes, long visage, dark complexion. Marks—D left side; cut left cheek; cut left eyebrow; walks firmly; has the gait and appear­ance of a cavalry soldier; is a coachpainter. Fenian Absconded from Fremantle 8.30 a.m., 17th April, 1876. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler " Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

16. MICHAEL HARRINGTON, Imperial Convict, Eeg. No. 9767; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Hougoumont; received Ufe sentence 7th July, 1866

Description—Middling stout, age 48 years, Sft. 7|in. high, brown hair, grey eyes, full visage, sallow com­plexion. Marks—D left side ; pockmarked. Fenian. Absconded at 8.30 a.m. from Fremantle, on 17th April, 1876. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler " Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

17. THOMAS HASSETT, Imperial Convict, Eeg. No. 9758; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Hougoumont; received life sentence 15th August, 1866. Description—Middling stout, age 36 years, height Sft. 8in., brown hair, Ught grey eyes, long visage, fresh complexion. Marks—D left side; cut mark left side upper Up; a rough carpenter, Fenian. Absconded from Fremantle 8-30 a.m., 17th April, 1876. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler " Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

18. EOBERT CRANSTON, Imperial Convict, Eeg. No. 9702; arrived in Colony per convict ship Hougoumont, 1868; received life sentence 26tli June, 1866. Description—Middling stout, age 36 years, height 5 ft. 6 | in., brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Marks—Cross inside right arm; a farmer. Fenian. Absconded at 8.30 a.m. from Fremantle, on 17th April. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler " Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

19. JAMES WILSON, Imperial Convict, Eeg. No. 9915, arrived in Colony per convict ship Hougou-mont; received Ufe sentence 20th August, 1866. Description—Middling stout, age 40 years, heiglit 5 ft. 8^ m., brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Marks—D left side; is a labourer. Fenian. Absconded from Fremantle, on 17th April, 1876. Escaped from the Colony in the American whaler " Catalpa," G. Anthony, Master.

Stealing in Dwellings, from the Person, &c. Vide C. I. 109.

The three cheques therein described recovered by P. C. Maher, in the bush between Northam and New­castle, on 9th inst., in a bundle concealed; in the bundle was the Certificate of Freedom belonging to Henry Brown, exp., late Eeg. No. 8487, wbo was arrested on the charge.

On 9th inst., from dwelUng-house of William Jinks and Charles Atcheson, Melbourne Street, Perth,—silver hunting geneva watch and thirty shillings in silver, the property of William Jinks; also two £1 W. A. Bank notes, seventeen shillings in silver, and a silver gilt, double-back engine turned. Consular f-plate geneva horizontal watch, No. 41794, the property of Charles Atcheson. The robbery was effected by some person putting an arm through a broken pane of glass in the back window and unfastening it; the thief left the house by the front mndow, which was left unfastened.—C.L 140.

On night of 31st ult., from dwelling-house of Catherine Chesterfield, Fremantle,—a woman's black silk jacket, smaU bow on back; white blanket hem­med at the ends, woollen star at each comer; white flannel petticoat, and brown linsey skirt. Informa­tion received at Fremantle Police Station, 8th inst.— C.L 141.

Vide C.I. 124. The property therein described, was found in com­

plainant's house, on the execution of search warrant, by L.C. Hall and Cunningham, on 7th inst.

On night of 3rd inst., from the premises of Charles Massingham, Grassdale, York, his property,—two wool bales, two corn sacks, one marked E. P., jack plane, handle fastened on with a screw, trying plane, smoothing plane, brace and set of bits, 2-inch chisel, |-inch chisel, inch auger, one hand and one tenon saw, small carpenter's square and pair of compasses, square and compasses marked M, pair of pinchers, and three or four gimblets, single tooth gauge.

These articles are suspected to have been stolen by William Davis, exp., late Eeg. No. 7971 alias " Squash," who was at Grassdale on evening of 3rd inst.—C.L 135.

On Sth inst., from William-street Jetty, Perth,—a x-tierce of tobacco, ex Sea Ripple, marked ?_? ^ s 242 * 174 ibs. nett weight. The tobacco was brought from Fremantle, on 3rd inst., per steamer Lady Stirling, and was landed from steamer at jetty, on Sth inst.; was last seen about 11 a.m. on that date. The tobacco is the property of Barker & Gull, Guildford, to whom it was supposed to have been taken by Guildford steamer on Sth, but it was ascertained on Sth that the tobacco was not put on board or for­warded to consignees. Michael Eowland, free, and Wm. Patterson, exp., are working the Guildford boat. The steam dredge, worked by party of con­victs, was lying near the jetty on that day.—C.L 136.

On or about 8th April, 1876, from the clothes chest of Thomas Mclntyre, seaman, ex Letty Gales, Bastard Sextant, description—black ebony, maker's name " Ford;" Norrie's Epitome, has been rebound, traverse tables misplaced, canvas cover, and name of Thomas Mclntyre inside cover; Ainsley's guide, navigation book, name inside; Crimean shirt, broad yellow and dark stripes; white jean coat, double-breasted ; white jean single breasted vest, white pearl buttons : pair jean and pair drill trowsers ; two white shirts, with collars attached; large jack knife, dagger blade and buckhorn handle; pair of pearl sleeve Unks, large size; looking glass with cover on a hinge; dressing box containing ship's discharge, and razor and case with small looking glass inside attached to box.—C. During night of 6th, or early on morning of 7th inst., from the person of Eobert Flint, while in the house of Hannah Brown, prostitute, Murray Street, Perth,—silver open face lever. No. 12. The watch is out of repair, and is identifiable. Hannah Brown arrested. Vide Apprehensions.—C. I. 139.

EGBERT OSBORNE, exp., late Eeg. No. 8672, by L.C. McKay and P.C. McKenna, at Fremantle, on Sth inst.; charged with feloniously stealing pair moleskin trousers. Vide C.L 131; also charged with receiving same, knowing them to have been stolen. Osborne brought up at Fremantle Police Court, on 6th inst., and elected to be tried at Supreme Court. Committed for trial.

No. 1324, and who made his escape from this Colony some years ago, while en route from Albany as a prisoner under escort, to Fremant le Pr ison; he was arrested and sentenced to seven years ' penal servitude, in London, 27 th February , 1866, and again arrived in this Colony, per Convict Ship Hougoumont, in 1868, bu t on arriving at the Convict EstabUshment, Fremant le , was recognized by the Assistant Super­intendent , as escaped prisoner Reg. Circular Orders and Miscellaneous Information.

CO. 7486.—In accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance 39 Vic. No. 15, the following rule will be observed by the Police throughout the Colony:— When a Warrant for the apprehension of any person has been issued by a Magistrate at any Station, the Police Officer or Constable in charge of such Station will forward to each Police Station in the Colony, and to the Detective Office in Perth, a copy of such Warrant, countersigned by himself, attaching to the Copy Warrant the Form No. 198, giving an accurate description of the person required to be apprehended.

Arrests in all cases can be effected by the Police on such Copy Warrants.

Officers in charge of Divisions will see that the Police in their Divisions make themselves acquainted with the provisions of the above Ordinance.

On night of 8th inst., from the tent of Peter Clancey, who is in service of Captain Archdeacon, one mile from Bunbury, on Vasse Road,—pair light colored tweed trowsers, worn; old striped cotton shirt; flannel shirt; double-breasted black cloth waistcoat, with black covered buttons; two pairs of white cotton socks; these articles were in a pillow sUp: also small calico bag containing 2 lbs. tea, and a stone bottle of ink.—C.L 140.

On 16th inst., from Maurice O'ConneU, t.l., Reg. No. 7810, somewhere in Perth,—two Crimean shirts, Ught color, and striped; two blue neckties; black billy cock hat ; elastic belt, and two pair white socks. —C.I. 142.

Sentenced to 3 months' hard labor and fined .£30, or in default 3 months' hard labor, cumulative on former sentence.

THOMAS WILDING, of Mookine, charged hy P.C. Lavery, at York Police Court, on 6th inst., with cutting and removing timber from waste lands of the Crown without license ; fined =£5 and costs. •)

Conditional Release, Reg. No. 9007 George Stain­forth, fined 5s. at WUUams River Police Court, on 3rd inst.

I t has been reported by Nathaniel Howell, Beau­fort Street, Perth, that an entry was effected by some persons into his residence, on 14th inst., by getting through the bedi'oom window; the tracks of two persons (large tracks) were fouud outside that window ; these tracks were followed by native tracker to the back of Perth Prison, and across several grants into StirUng Street, where they were lost on account of traffic having passed over them.

JOHN ROBINSON, exp., was convicted at Northam Police Court, on 8th inst., on charge of seUing colonial wine, without Ucense, on 22nd April, and was fined d£30, or in default 4 months' imprison­ment ; also charged same day, with supplying aboriginal natives with spirituous liquor, on 22nd AprU, was convicted and fined £b, or in default two months' imprisonment.

A notice, as under, has been posted in Perth.

Reported by Roebourne police, that James McGee, pensioner, lately of enrolled force, Premantle, was, accidentally drowned at Flying Foam Passage, N.T\. Coast, on 12th ult. Deceased had no property or effects in that district. ^

5. J A M E S B A K E R , Reg. No. 9068, Imperial Con­vict ; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Corona, 1866, under sentence of 15 years p.s., 25th March, 1865. Description—Slight, present age 69, 5ft. 3^in. high, grey hair, grey eyes, round visage, dark com­plexion; a laborer. Absconded from Nor tham Convict Road Par ty on the l l t h Ju ly , 1871, last heard of at DeBurgh 's , Moore River.

8. J O H N or J A M E S K E A R N S , Reg. No. 10097, Colonial Convict; under sentence of 5 years p.s., a t Albany, on the 19th February, 1873, his Imperial Reg. No. was 7747, sentence 6 years p.s., on the 7th May, 1861. Description—Stout, present age 39, 5ft. 4in. high, brown hair, oval visage, dark complexion, Marks—Bayonet stab in neck, D left side, bullet mark on right leg, willow left arm, J . right a r m ; a laborer. Absconded from Point Resolution Road party on the 10th August , 1873.

9. H E N R Y PARKENSON, Reg. No. 8674, Imperial Convict; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Vimiera, December, 1865, reconvicted for larcenies in this Colony. Description—MiddUng stout, present age 36, 5ft. 6 | in . high, brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Marks—Dot and H on left a r m ; a laborer. Absconded from Nor th Fre­mantle Depot on the 8th March, 1874, believed to be in or near Pe r th .

No. 6033) ; arrived in the Colony per con­vict ship Lincelles, January , 1862 ; reconvicted at the Supreme Court, Per th , 7th October, 1869, sentenced to 7 years p.s. Description—Stout, present age 39, 5ft. 3-|in. high,fresh complexion. Marks—Hear t on palm of left hand, cut on left hand, black spots on left a r m ; a glover and tailor. Absconded from Freshwater Bay Convict Road Pa r ty on the 13th March, 1875, believed to have been on the Swan two months ago.

25. TOMMY W O B U T , ab., undergoing magisterial sentence at Pe r th PoUce Stables. Description—• Stout , about 30 years of age, about 5ft. 4 | in . , round visage, very wide mouth , and bold appearance; absconded on 8th inst., from Pe r th Police Stables. This native belongs to the Albany District, and was seen going in tha t direction.

26. GEORGE COWPER, Imperial Convict, Reg. ISIo. 9701, from York District, on 21st January, 1871. This man is better known as Martin Griffin, Reg. No. 1324, and who made his escape from this Colony some years ago, while en route from Albany as a prisoner under escort, to Fremantle Prison; he was arrested and sentenced to seven years' penal servitude, in London, 27th February, 1866, and again arrived in this Colony, per Convict Ship Hougoumont, in 1868, but on arriving at the Convict EstabUshment, Fremantle, was recognized by the Assistant Super­intendent, as escaped prisoner Reg. No. 1324 Martin Griffin. Description—Middling stout, present age 49, height 5ft. 4|in., grey hair, hazel eyes, oval visage, long nose, fresh complexion. Marks—pock­pitted, bald, part of a ship on right arm, ship, long mark, and " AVERY," left arm, anchor left wrist, tattooed back of right hand, very talkative, speaks quickly.

Reg No. 7774, EDWARD MARKS, is further des­cribed by Vasse PoUce, as having one of bis hands crippled.

No. 1, HENRY RINGTON, Imp. Con., Reg. No. 4620, is shown in Ust of convict ship Nile, as Henry Rington; but in another part of ship Ust, he is shown as Henry Kington, with the same description, &c. There is evidently some mistake in spelling the name, and he may be going in name of Kington. Police to add this other name to former description.

No. 7, DENNIS MANNING, Imp. Con., Reg. No. 9513, is further described for information of police, by L.C. Cunningham, as an Irishman, short necked, has a Jewish appearance, walks with a roUing gait, has a deal to say, especially upon horses, carries his arms wide from his body, and will most likely pass for a groom, as he has a good knowledge of horses. Circular Orders and Miscellaneous Information.

CO. 7i7».—On the arrival of a vessel at any sea­port of this Colony from a foreign port, the Police Officer in charge at the port wiU forward to the Chief Office, with as little delay as possible, a return giving the names, Christian and Surname, of all passengers by such vessel, and any information he is able to gather as to who they are, whence tliey have come, what is their object in coming to the Colony, and where they are going.

This is in addition to the usual Inward and Out­ward Report, and refers only to passengers who remain in the Colony.

The Water Police are instructed to co-operate with the Land Police in this matter.

Stealing in Dwellings, from the Person, &c.

On the 26th May last, from the hut of George Webster, of Mount Erin,—100 lbs. flour; 30 lbs. sugar; 2 lbs. tobacco; 2 Crimean shirts, red and white plaid pattern; 1 light colored tweed coat; 1 oil coat; 2 blue blankets; 1 horse rug, brovra, with red stripes at each end ; 1 razor, and sundries; most of these things can be identified. Ab. natives Wil-baccoo alia.f Caronor, and Ginwah, suspected. These natives belong to the Talerang District.—C.I. 143.

From the hut of James NeUl, t.L, 10047, on the morning of the 21st inst., at the 7-mUe gully, York Road,—2 lbs. of salt pork, and 4 lbs. of sugar. The bag containing the sugar was made of white drUl, identifiable.—C.L 144.

From the hut of Michael Lenahan, shepherd, Vic­toria Plains, on the 12th inst.,—clothing, and other articles valued at ^£3. No description of clothing sent; Ea.stward natives strongly suspected. Des­cription will be given as socrti as ascertained.—C.L 145.

From the person of James Young, in the Shamrock Hotel, on the night of the 24th inst.,—£2 in silver, one gold locket, description—round, engraved on the edge of one side a wreath of Scotch Thistles, the other side plain with a circle in the centre for name, the likeness of his mother inside. One small gold chain, small links, to wear around the neck, and comes down about the centre of the breast. The link next the swivel broken.—C.L 146.

Apprehensions. JOHN SIMPSON, free, seaman, by P.C. Armstrong,

on warrant, on 22nd inst., on Premantle Road; charged with stealing a shirt, pair of blankets, a boot, sou'wester hat, bar soap, two pairs trousers, and seal skin cap, from taproom of Emerald Isle Hotel, Fremantle, the property of William Warren, on 22ud inst. Property recovered, prisoner having leit them at James Bro-ftn's, Fremantle.

WILLIAM CLEVELAND, exp., late Reg. No. 1992, at Vasse, by P.C. Keen, 20th inst., on warrant issued at Vasse, on 17th inst.; charged with continual drunk­enness and neglect of service. Charge withdrawn.

Committed for trial at Supreme Court, Perth.

THOMAS GORMAN, t.L, 7416, by Lance-Sergeant Back, Vasse, on 17th inst.; was charged with com­mitting a breach of t.l. regulations, pleaded guilty at Vasse Police Court, and sentenced to 3 months' hard labour.

GEORGE KEMP, exp., late Reg. No. 7172, by Sergeant Waldock, at York, on the 16th inst.; charged with larceny of a number of jam wood stakes from a fence, the property of J. H. Monger, York; convicted at York on 20th inst., and fined £1, and to pay 6s. for wood taken.

Brought up on remand on the 25th inst., and was committed as a Lunatic to the Asylum.

LIMPING JACK, ab. native, at York, by P.C. Lavery; charged on warrant with going on premises of C Massingham, with dogs, and killing six sheep and lambs with same; discharged at York on request of complainant.

Miscellaneous. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.—John Wray, jun., charged

by P.C. BoveU, at Albany PoUce Court, on 13th inst., with cruelly treating a horse. Case proved, and defendant fined £4i.

Sergeant Campbell charged George Davies, free, at Fremantle Police Court, on 19th inst, with taking in pledge an article from a child under 14 years of age, on the 22nd May. Fined ^£1.

John Kenny, pensioner, has reported, that on the night of the 24th inst. some person stole a tin dish and one plate from the rear of his house, in StirUng Street. Kenny complains that some person is in the habit of stealing paltry articles, on each Saturday night, from his yard, and that he suspects John i McCormack, who came out in the Naval Brigade.

On 4th inst., Absolom Russ reported seeing the wreck of a three-masted vessel on the beach near Jurien Bay, which must have got there since he was at that place, three months before. Mr. Edward Bro(;kman states that at the latter end of April, or begining of May last, he saw a three-masted vessel cruising about outside the Bay, for six or seven days; the weather was not rough, most of her sails were set; she did not appear to be in distress. Lance-Corporal Lawrence, wbo visited the wreck on the 9th inst., gives the following description of the wreck:— Bulwarks about 3ft. 6in. high, painted green, a yellow paint streak ; bull painted black, sheathed with copper, bmlt of foreign timber, planking three inches thick; believed to have been about 150 tons burthen. About five miles from the wreck he found a ship's boat, about 18 feet long, painted white with a black streak around gunwale, no name on her; she had apparently been drawn up on the beach, an oar and boathook was in the boat, and the saUs and mast lying alongside her.

Inquests. Held at Geraldton, on the 14th inst., on the body

of Thomas WUUams, t.l., 9622, before G. EUot, coroner, and a jury. Inquest adjourned tUl 20th inst., when a Verdict of Manslaughter was given against David Jones, exp., late 6171, of Gwalla. From the evidence, it was adduced that the death of Williams was caused through Jones assaulting him, by striking him with a large stone upon the forehead, on the 30th May last, at Northampton, from the effects of which cleceased never recovered. WiUiams died whUe being conveyed from Northampton to Geraldton Hospital.

Held by J. G. Slade, on the body of Col. Reg. No. 10125, John Regan, at Fremantle Prison, 26th inst. Verdict—" Died from natural causes."

Horses and Cattle. Strayed from Gwalla in the beginning of May

last, a large bay horse, about 16 bands 3 in. high, branded with B on off side, small white blaze down face, and a smaU No. 2 horse bell on. Horse and bell the property of the Govemment.

JOEY, ab. native. Description—middling stout, age about 30 years, height about 5 ft. 4 or 5 in., hair black, visage round, complexion black; is charged on warrant issued the 24th inst., with deserting the service of S. P . Phillips, Toodyay, 9th May last.

Absconders. 1. HENEY RINGTON, Reg. No. 4620, Imperial

Convict; arrived in the colony per convict ship Nile, in January, 1858. Description—Middling stout, present age 46, Sft. 9in. high, sandy hair, dark brown eyes, long visage, fresh complexion. Marks—H.K. on each arm; a farm laborer. Absconded from a Convict Party at Point Resolution on the 10th October, 1868.

3. WILLIAM GOODLAND aliosBiLL ATTEL,Reg. NO. 8269, Imperial Convict; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Racehorse, 1865, under sentence of 20 years, p.s., March, 1863. Description—Stout, broad shoulders, present age 34, Sft. 7f in. high, dark brown hair, bald, light hazel eyes, long visage, fair com­plexion. Marks—Anchor and J right arm ; sailor and mermaid left arm ; a carpenter ; has a spot size of half crown on left side of head void of hair; has been in Royal Navy ; an Englishman ; walks with a quick short step, turns right foot outward. Absconded from Convict Boat Party, Fremantle, on the 16th December, 1870, and is believed he went overland to South Australia with Bernard Stein in October, 1874.

6. JAMES BAKEE, Reg. No. 9068, Imperial Con­vict ; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Corona, 1866, under sentence of 15 years p.s., 25th March, 1865. Description—SUght, present age 69, 5ft. 3-2in. high, grey hair, grey eyes, round visage, dark com­plexion ; a laborer. Absconded from Northam

Convict Road Party on the l l t h July, 1871, last heard of at DeBurgh's, Moore River.

6. H E N E Y BEADBUEY, Reg. No. 5979, Imperial Convict; arrived in the Colony per convict ship LinceUes, January, 1862. Description—Stout, pre-sent age 35, Sft. 5|in. high, light brown hair, light hazel eyes, long visage, fresh complexion; a butcher. Absconded from Convict Boat Party, Fremantle, on the 3rd AprU, 1872.

7. DENNIS MANNING, Reg. No. 9513, Imperial Convict; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Norwood, July, 1867 ; sentenced to 10 years in 1865, but received additional sentences in this Colony for larceny. Description—Stout, present age 39, 5ft. 2in. high, black hair, black eyes, round visage, swarthy complexion ; a laborer. Absconded from Freshwater Bay Road Party on the 10th May, 1873.

8. JOHN or JAMES KEAENS, Reg. No. 10097,' Colonial Convict; under sentence of 5 years p.s., at Albany, on the 19th February, 1873, his Imperial Reg. No. was 7747, sentence 6 years p.s., on the 7th May, 1861. Description—Stout, present age 39, Sft. 4in. high, brown hair, oval visage, dark complexion, Marks—Bayonet stab in neck, D left side, bullet mark on right leg, willow left arm, J. right arm; a laborer. Absconded from Point Resolution Eoad party on the 10th August, 1873.

9. HENEY PAEKENSON, Reg. No. 8674, Imperial Convict; arrived in the Colony per convict ship Vimiera, December, 1865, reconvicted for larcenies in this Colony. Description—Middling stout, present age 36, Sit. 6|in. high, brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Marks—Dot and H on left arm; a laborer. Absconded from North Fre­mantle Depot on the 8th March, 1874, beUeved to he in or near Perth.

11. WILLIAM LEIGH alias FEANK KELLY alias WILLIAM L E E , Reg. No. 9964, Colonial Convict; (Imp. Reg. No. 6033); arrived in the Colony per con­vict ship Lincelles, January, 1862 ; reconvicted at the Supreme Court, Perth, 7th October, 1869, sentenced to 7 years p.s. Description—Stout, present age 39, Sft. 3|in. high, fresh complexion. Marks—Heart on palm of left hand, cut on left hand, black spots on left a rm; a glover and tailor. Absconded from Freshwater Bay Convict Road Party on the 13th March, 1875, believed to have been on the Swan two months ago.

25. TOMMY WOBUT, ab., undergoing magisterial sentence at Perth Police Stables. Description-Stout, about 30 years of age, about Sft. 4iin., round visage, very wide mouth, and bold appearance; absconded on 8th inst., from Perth Police Stables. This native belongs to the Albany District, and was seen going in that direction.

26. GEOEGE COWPEE, Imperial Convict, Reg. No. 9701, from York District, on 21st January, 1871.^, This man is better known as Martin Griffin, Keg. No. 1324, and who made his escape from this Colony some years ago, while en route from Albany as a prisoner under escort, to Fremantle Prison; he was arrested and sentenced to seven years' penal servitude, in London, 27th February, 1866, and again arrived in this Colony, per Convict Ship Hougoumont, in 1868, but on arriving at the Convict Establishment, Fremantle, was recognized by the Assistant Super­intendent, as escaped prisoner Reg. No. 1324 Martiu Griffin._ Description—Middling stout, present age 49, height Sft. 4|in., grey hair, hazel eyes, oval visage, long nose, fresh complexion. Marks—pock­pitted, bald, part of a ship on right arm, ship, loug mark, and " AVEEY," left arm, anchor left wrist, ' tattooed back of right hand, very talkative, speaks quickly. ^
