As we resume our public Masses at phase 1 of the COVID-19 pandemic we must observe certain guidelines. Therefore, in order to serve our community better and work with the best logistic possible, we would like for you to call the parish office 479-524-8526 if you are planning to participate at any of our Masses. At this point we can only make use of 14 pews. Our dispensation for Sun-day Mass is still being granted by our Bishop indefinitely. If we runout of our limited space due to required 6 ’physical distancing, you may try to attend some of our weekday Masses as an option. Please make sure to review some of the guidelines for attending Mass, such as wearing a mask to cover your mouth and nose, sanitizing your hands as you come in, avoid attendance if you do not feel well or have been exposed to someone who test-ed positive for COVID-19, etc. Upon your arrival our ushers will take you to your seat. So please follow their instructions. Thanks for your understanding during these chal-lenging times.

I would like to extend my appreciation to all of those who have made our livestream Masses possible and those who participated in them spiritually during the past challenging months since public worship was suspended temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandem-ic. However, with the resumption of public Mass-es and still spaces available in our parish of St. Mary’s, we will no longer be livestreaming our weekly Masses. As Catholics, our ultimate goal is to sacramentally participate in any of our Eucharistic cel-ebrations. Many of you have found spiritual consola-tion through our virtual Masses, and for some of you this was, and may still be, the only way to spiritually participate in Mass. In the meantime, we will continue to livestream our Sunday Masses (https://facebook.com/StMary-SiloamSprings-100137671646410/) until we are able to use our facili-ties to a full capacity. Meanwhile, all guidelines and health precautions are still in place, including social distancing and the use of face masks. We will contin-ue to pray for all of you, especially those who have been affected by the coronavirus. Father Salvador

The altar flowers for this weekend were donat-ed by Villalobos Family in memory of Ernesti-

na Villalobos . If you wish to donate flowers for Sunday, pick up an envelope in the vestibule.

Please make the checks to St. Mary Church. Thank you!

Now that we are having Mass in the church, we are following all the safety precautions from Bishop Anthony Taylor. Phase I Restrictions: • Come to Mass wearing masks: All Partici-pants, including children over 10 years of age, must wear masks or other covering of their mouth and nose. • If you signed up to come to Come to church early: We can only provide seats for 25% of the church capacity. • Do not give the sign of peace by hand. • Holy Communion will be one specie only: the Body of Christ. • Holy Communion will not be distributed on the tongue. • There won’t be blessings for those who don’t receive Holy Communion: If you can’t receive Holy Communion, please do not go in the line to the altar. • Respect the 6ft. distance. • Please listen and respect the directions and guidelines from the ushers: The ushers have been trained by Father Salvador with all the requirements from the Diocese of Little Rock. • If you are sick, or you don’t feel well, or you think that you were close to someone that was positive with COVID-19, please stay home.

The Sunday Mass obligation remains sus-pended indefinitely for all people, not only for those who cannot attend due to a parish’s crowd-reduction measures. Even so, all people remain obligated to “keep the Lord’s Day Holy”, which they can do in any of a large variety of ways, including the fol-lowing: • Sunday participation in Mass can be live streamed, or with TV-active participation, not just passive viewing. • Attending weekday Mass in lieu of Sun-day when Sunday Mass in unavailable. • Private prayer for an hour- which is the amount of time you would have spent at Mass, mediating on Scripture readings for the Sunday Mass, praying the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours, novena prayers, etc.

Got too much ‘stuff’? Time to ‘quaran-clean’? The Knights of Columbus will be glad to take your unneeded, salea-ble goods for our semi-annual yard sale to be held Sat. 8/29. Call Gerry Donner at 524-5550 or Chyle Rollins at 957-1411 if you have questions. Some donations we may be able to pick up; the hall will also be open prior Thurs and Fri night from 5-6 p.m. to receive drop off items for the Sat. sale.

Next week, we will take up the Col-lection for the Church in Latin America. For many in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers all present obstacles to practicing the faith. Your support for the collection provides lay leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, and other programs to share our Catholic faith with those who long to hear the Good News of Christ. To learn more about how your gifts make a difference, vis-it www.usccb.org/latin-america.

With all the current changes, please check for any new changes using our communication resource places.

Corpus Christi It is no wonder that followers of Christ are called the Body of Christ. After all, sharing in the same spiritual food and sacred meal, they become what they eat and reveal the Divine Image. There is so much power for healing in the community of believers. Through the Eucharist, Christ becomes as present in those who have partaken of his Body and Blood as he has the elements themselves. The very pres-ence of God touches the depths of the human soul and visits a part of us that no human being can ever hope to explore. We are God’s. The sacred Eucharistic meal is a celebration of intimacy, the re-union of two loves in constant search of and longing for the other. The community of believers receives the power and the presence to touch and heal in the name of the One they have welcomed within. It is now within their grasp to change the way life is lived and to more intentionally put into practice the Beatitudes that the Divine Guest has re-vealed. We are asked to be like Christ and work to create a world of sufficiency, where the greed of some no longer cre-ates the want of others but where all of God’s children can find a home and a place at the table of life. The One who makes a home within calls us to live a life that transforms. We are changed our-selves and now become agents of change for others. We are the Body of Christ. God is with us. We have been nour-ished. Sadly, many are afraid to try. We know what we are called to do, but we struggle with feelings of doubt as to whether God really is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Do our systems have to change? Is it possible that we somehow missed the mark when we put all of our so-cial networks in place and established the business of our lives? Perhaps we have to radically rethink our approach and that can scare us. We might have to give something up or change, and we don’t want to. As long as want, injustice, division,

prejudice, and scarci-ty still exit, there is tre-m e n d o u s work for the Body of Christ.

SCAM ALERTS Recently, another round of SCAM E-MAILS has gone out impersonating Bishop Taylor. These scam emails use a fake “gmail” ac-count and even include a picture of him. One of these is particularly insidious, since it ref-erences a priest being diagnosed with COVID-19 (which is false), in an attempt to scare the recipient into thinking that Bishop Taylor needs immediate financial help. It should go without saying that Bishop Taylor will NEVER contact anyone person-ally asking for gift cards, money, or other fi-nancial assistance. Please do not respond to any such emails; delete them immediately.
