Athletics Day. . . Room 3
I had a good time at athletics and gave everything a go. I felt amazing but very tired.
Isla Bull
Yesterday I went to Ramanui School to do athletics. We did running, jumping and throwing. Athletics was hot but fun and really tiring. My favourite event was eight hundred metres and long jump because I won both of them. I had so much fun at athletics. I thought it was very busy. After, I was very hungry and thirsty.
Kaylynn Pulman
Yesterday we went to Ramanui School for athletics. There was long distance running and
shot put. My favourite was long jump because I tried my best. I felt really incredible. I even
made new friends.
Te Hukinga Robinson
Yesterday we went to Ramanui School for athletics because they have a giant field. I did the best at high jump because I was able to do the scissor kick over the bar. The day was amazing. Liam Jordan
I felt happy at athletics because my favourite event was there, it is the sprints. I came first in the 400m heat, Bailee came second. I was at Ramanui School and we walked there. I felt tired after the athletics. We walked back. I did 14565 steps at athletics on my Fitbit!

Be a Good News Statistic
Tēnā koutou katoa. November is Mass count month. It’s an annual statistical
snapshot of participation at Sunday Mass. The statistics are
not just about numbers; they are about us and our faith.
Last year our numbers were up. That was a good news
story. A significant part of that trend is the wonderful co-
operation between DRSs, Principals, Children’s Liturgy
Leaders, and Priests. No one believes faith is unimportant.
And in our hearts, we know the best way to keep our faith
growing and vibrant is coming along to Mass or Miha.
Mass makes not just Sunday special but the whole week, as it brings purpose to
our lives. Especially to those of you who maybe have not been to Mass for a
while, I encourage you to feel at home at Church. It’s our place.
See you Sundays! Bishop Charles.
Our condolences . . .
Eric George Cresswell: Our Deepest Sympathy goes to the Cresswell family at this
time, as they mourn the loss of a loved Dad and Grandfather. Eric was a familiar figure within our school coming to read
stories to our young children.
We give thanks and praise for Eric’s life. For the Cresswell family we ask God to comfort and strengthen
you at this time. May Eric rest in peace.
Room 1’s Athletic experiences Long jump
On Wednesday the 6th of November Mrs Stephens was on
long jump. When I did long jump we got to have three turns
each and it was 9 year boys and girls together. The girls went
first - I was the 5th girl to go and I had two no jumps. The last
jump I did was a really good jump because it was 1.75
metres.
Lara O’Neill
High Jump
When it came to my try I made it then i had to sit down and wait for my next try. I got really hot when i was waiting. I had to stay with Maddy and keep jumping because I was doing well and I was the last one who had to stay. Then it was time to go back to school. Then I went to get my bag and went home.
Elena Jager
Middle distance running
On Wednesday the 6th November we did athletics. Mrs Curtis was
teaching middle distance running. Middle distance was 400m but
the 800m was optional. I did it! Rooms 1,3,4,5 and 9 went to
athletics. In my run I came 4th. That was my favourite part.
Josh Midgley
Shot Put
Shot put was hard but I liked it. The balls were really
heavy. Some people got a ‘no throw’. My sister Elena
got a ‘no throw’. When we threw the balls people
measured our throw. We were allowed to throw the
ball twice.

100m Sprints 2018
On Wednesday, the 6th of November Rooms 1, 3, 4, 5
and 9 went to Athletics at Ramanui School. Everyone
started with sprints. When it was the 9 year boys turn
I lined up. Mum put us behind a cone so we knew which
lane we were in. I was in the first row, Luca was in row
2. Mr Bird clapped the clapper and all 7 people started
running. When everyone got to the end our times got
called out as they were recorded on a stop watch as
they were heats, not finals. I got 17 seconds.
