World Mission Sunday

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY – a day that leads us to the heart of our Christian faith – leads us to mission! Your generosity on World Mission Sunday supports the work of priests, religious and lay leaders in the Mis-sions who share our faith with those most in need. This year we can even “chat” with our chief missionary, Pope Francis, and learn more about his missions and missionaries.

Learn more at ChatWithThePope.org.

Chat – Pray – Give this World Mission Sunday.

Attention Parents & Guardians!

All Souls’ Day November 2

All Souls Day is a day set aside for honoring the dead. According to Catholic belief, the soul of a person who dies can go to one of three places. The first is heaven, where a person who dies in a state of perfect grace and communion with God goes. The second is hell, where those who die in a state of mortal sin are naturally con-demned by their own choice. The third option is purgato-ry, which is thought to be where most people, free of mor-tal sin, but still in a state of lesser (venial) sin, must go. Purgatory is necessary so that souls can be cleansed and perfected before they enter into heaven. Through the prayers of the faithful on Earth, the dead are cleansed of their sins so they may enter into heaven. Envelopes for including your deceased loved ones in the parish Purgatorial List can be found in your latest set of contribution envelopes. If you do not receive envelopes, some of these enrollment envelopes can be found at the church doors. The names of the deceased will be listed in Mass intentions throughout the year. Also, one Mass per week is offered for the repose of the souls on the Pur-gatorial List (Poor Souls in Purgatory.)
