BAPTISM
Let us welcome all the new Babies and their
families who were Baptized this past weekend.
ALL PARISH OFFICE WILL
BE CLOSED THE MONDAY
AFTER EASTER APRIL 2ND.
WE WILL REOPEN ON
TUESDAY, APRIL 3RD.
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU !!! HAPPY EASTER TO ALL WHO
BELIEVE IN CHRIST !!!
The significance of Easter is much greater than the
significance of Christmas. Revelation of Christ’s humanity in
Christmas is beautiful, very comforting and consoling to have
Emmanuel, that is - God with us -, but revelation of Resurrection is
much greater, it shows us Christ’s divinity and his power over death
- our greatest enemy. It is revelation of Christ’s greatest gift to us, it is the gift of salvation, it is the gift of
eternal life.
Resurrection of Christ becomes a promise to us, that we can be with God in eternal life, if only we
deposit our trust in God. Christ became human, to make us somewhat divine through rising from the dead
to eternal life. By defeating death, Jesus brings the greatest victory into the perspective of everyone’s life.
He turns the greatest sadness's of human life, into the promise of unthinkable life forever in the kingdom
of heaven.
This perspective is so big and so seemingly remote to our today and now thinking, because we are
very materialistically oriented. Our images of resurrection do not adequately transmit the message with its
depth. In our culture, the Resurrection and Easter are represented to us by images and concepts that are
like parables, talking to us through images and concepts that are comparable in its effects. But to think
about Resurrection and experience Resurrection, or to think about the death and experience death it is two
different worlds, it is almost unthinkable. These two experiences, are the last experiences of our existence,
and we all talk about it on the basis of our faith experience. How many of us had an experience of the
resurrection, or how many of us experienced death ???
So when we speak about Easter using the images of : an Easter bunny, or an Easter eggs, Easter
lamb, Easter bread, Easter food, Easter basket, Easter flowers, empty tomb, Easter cloth, Easter water,
Easter candle, they all speak of Resurrected Christ, but the experience of suffering, pain and death is
already transformed into this new imagery of the life after. These are the two extremes of human
experience that we all are scared to experience. We all know, that there will be no glorious experience of
Resurrection, before the scary experience of death. These are the two last experiences of our human
earthly, and then heavenly existence. It is dramatical, yet beautiful transformation. It is the transformation
from the caterpillar into the butterfly, or from the seed into the flower, beautiful yet dramatic. Faith makes
it sound simple, rationality makes it seem impossible. For Christ it is natural, for us it’s supernatural. It is
amazing and almost unthinkable, it is the best possible thing that can happen to a human being by
becoming almost divine.
Jesus save us from eternal damnation, save us from our sins, save us from our death. Jesus
remember us when you come into your kingdom.
Happy and healthy Easter to everyone !!! God bless You all !!!

Catholic Education at it’s BEST
On Wednesday, 3-14, Our Lady of Providence celebrated
Pi day with many fun Math activities. The celebration cul-
minated in a Pi memorization contest. All the participants
did a great job! Congratulations to Olivia, Alexa, and
Kyra, who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
At Our Lady of Providence School, the safety and security
of our children is our number one priority. On Wednesday,
as a Catholic school, we chose not to have a student
walkout at 10:00 AM. Instead, at that time, we stopped
all activities and prayed together as a school family for the
safety of all our students, staff, and families, and
remembered in prayer the student lives lost to violence in
other schools. We responded in prayer rather than protest,
which is not age-appropriate or safe for our children.
Thank you again for choosing Catholic Education and for
entrusting your children to our care.

From the Deacon’s Bench by Deacon John
Now that the hectic days of Lent are over, we are fully involved in the joy of the Easter season. These days are marked with a special kind of happiness that should really envelop our entire day. Because of what Jesus did for each of us, fulfill His Father’s will, going to the Cross and Rising from the dead, eternal life forever with God and those who love God is a reality open to each of us! ALLELUIA!!!
The Season of Easter is a perfect time for all of us to learn more about our Faith, about the reality of Jesus’ Passion, and Resurrection. The Church this special time of learning this moments of Catechesis Mystagogy. This is an especially important time for new members of our church, but the reality is that each of us needs to grow in our faith, to come and be more deeply involved in the great mystery of Jesus.
Mystagogy means to “interpret the mystery”. Mystery, not in a “who done it’ kind of way, but mystery in the sense of exploring the depths of the love of God in Jesus Christ. So, we continue to explore the mystery, to engage in Mystagogy, when we begin our latest Bible study “The Passion and Resurrection Narrative”.
April 12, 2018, 7pm in the large basement room of the priests Residence (entry by the garage doors), is our start date. The study is a short one lasting about six Thursday evenings. Our concentration this study is on the Gospel accounts of the Passion of Jesus.
We all know the story, the account of Jesus’ trials and triumph. Now we delve deeper, in the words of the writers of the Gospels who were the eye wit-ness to the singularly most important even in history, the resurrection.
Please make plans to join us as we enter in the mystery, as we engage in Mystagogy. Please register by calling 631-273-8113, parish office.

reina vivo.
Dinos, María, ¿qué has visto en el ca-
mino?
Resucitó Cristo, mi esperanza;
precederá en Galilea a los suyos
Sabemos que Cristo verdaderamente
resucitó de entre los muertos.
Tú, Rey victorioso, ten piedad
Amen, Aleluya.
