Monday 4th November, 2019 Hello Everyone! We have another exciting week coming up with many activities! Tickets went on sale today for the SRC Movie night this Friday night. Speaking of films, the Film By The Eucalypts film day and night is this Wednesday at the Hub in Springwood. Congratulations to SPS budding film makers who were successful in being selected to have their films screened! We also welcome our Class of 2020 Kindergarten students this Thursday at the first Orientation session for kindergarten students. Congratulations to all our students who represented our school at the annual Summer Games last Friday. I am informed by our teachers that the students played with a high level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Well done to you all. Remind your kids everyday how special they are and how much you love them! Hug the ones you love and hold on for an extra second or two, it makes a world of difference. Mr Mehmet The Week Ahead… Monday and Tuesday Tickets go on sale for SRC Movie Night! Wednesday Film By The Eucalypts day and Night! Good News Week!

Congratulations to Aiden and Flynn! Last weekend Aiden Gwenossis and Flynn Driver competed in the NSW State Tennis Championships at Nepean Tennis centre. This was an invitation only event where the top players from around the state came together to compete. Flynn and Aiden both played well in the singles. Aiden made it to the main draw quarter finals and Flynn made it to the final in the consolation draw. Aiden and his partner won the doubles, becoming the NSW State Champions for Under 10s boys. Well done!

VOLUNTEER ETHICS TEACHERS REQUIRED Springwood Public School is currently in need of more ETHICS teachers to meet the demand for ethics classes. Ethics classes are provided each week (on Thursdays) if parents wish as an alternative to Special Religious Education (SRE) or Scripture classes. We rely on parents, grandparents and community-minded people to become ethics teachers. Teaching ethics classes is a rewarding way to be involved in your local community, learn new things and help children develop really important skills for life. Ethics classes support children to develop the skills they need to voice their opinions, consider the ideas of others and to make decisions based on evidence and reasoning rather than habit or peer pressure. The curriculum is fully approved by the Department of Education and has been professionally developed. Topics are age-specific and include telling the truth, being kind, forgiving, fairness and empathy, disagreeing respectively, working out what is true, listening to others and taking turns to speak. Comprehensive training and support is provided. Previous teaching experience is not required. If you or someone you know are interested and to find out more visit PrimaryEthics.com.au or phone the SPS Ethics Coordinator Susan on 0435 057 225.
