SATURDAY, 16 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at 8 p.m. at the Malta Interna-tional Airport and check-in for our flight departing at 10.05 p.m. After our ar-rival in Bari (at 11.25 p.m.), we shall be transferred to our 4-star hotel, located in Barletta, followed by room allocation and overnight. Puglia, located in the south of Italy – the heel of Italy’s boot, is a true land of contrasts, flavours, colours, culture and great things to discover!
SUNDAY, 17 MARCH: After breakfast we offer you an optional day excursion, visiting the town of Matera in the region of Basilicata. This provincial capital stands in the heart of a region dissected by deeply eroded gorges. Matera has gained international fame for its ancient town, the “Sassi di Matera” (meaning “stones of Matera”). The Sassi originate from a prehistoric settlement, and are suspected to be some of the first human settlements in Italy. One might think that these were typical Italian hill-towns until you realize that the ‘houses’ are all windowless grottoes with damp walls and earthen floors. Before returning to our hotel we shall stop for a short visit in the town of Bitonto. In the center of this old town, one finds the cathedral (c. 1200), perhaps the finest example of Apulian Romanesque architecture. Return to our hotel for dinner (optional) & overnight.
MONDAY, 18 MARCH: Today we offer an interesting optional day excursion visiting the small town of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Grotte di Castellana. We begin our day by driving to Castellana-Grotte, famous for the network of caves found here. Discovered in 1938, these vast caves were created by underground rivers which filter down through the limestone soil of the Murge Hills. We shall have enough time to visit the nu-merous caves (entr. extra) with their richly-coloured stalactites and stalag-mites. We shall then visit the town of Alberobello, site of the unusual districts of trulli, the characteristic white-washed conical-roofed houses of the area. The story behind Alberobello, once a town of trulli only, is a typically Italian one – its design was originally to fiddle taxes and fool the authorities. Enjoy walking through the centre of the town with trulli interspersed among build-ings in a surreal fashion or the most picturesque parts of Alberobello, with over a thousand white pointed top dwellings, clustered together just like a hobbit town! We return to our hotel to prepare for dinner (extra) followed by overnight.
TUESDAY, 19 MARCH: (Public Holiday in Malta): Today, after breakfast and room check-out you may wish to join our optional excursion visiting the beautiful national park of the Gargano Peninsula. We shall begin with a stop in San Giovanni Rotondo, the famous Padre Pio pilgrimage shrine. After enough time to visit the town including the famous church dedicated to San-ta Maria delle Grazie. We shall then drive through the Foresta Umbra, the only remaining part in Italy of the ancient oak and beech forest that once covered much of Central Europe. The Gargano is a promontory of stunning beaches, cliffs and forest on the Adriatic coast, admired for its rugged beauty. We shall return to our hotel followed by our transfer to Bari airport where we check in for our flight departing at 10 p.m. and scheduled to arrive in Malta at 11.25

SATURDAY, 16 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at Malta Int. Airport at 11.30 a.m. and check-in for our Ryanair flight departing at 1.40 p.m. for Madrid in central Spain. After our arrival, at 4.40 p.m. we shall then transfer to our 3-star hotel for room check-in. Afterwards you may wish to explore the centre of this city followed by overnight.
SUNDAY, 17 MARCH: After breakfast, join our optional day excursion as we shall drive northwest of Madrid to San Lorenzo del Escorial, the burial place of Spanish kings and queens. The monastery, a vast rectangular edifice, was built by King Philip 2 as a memorial to his parents and also for a great Span-ish victory of 1557 over the French (entr. extra). It has a magnificent library with rare volumes and manuscripts including the diary of St. Theresa. We later head back to the capital for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Spain’s capital city viewing some of the most important and impressive landmarks of one of the liveliest capital cities in Europe. After some free time at leisure for personal sightseeing and shopping, we return to our hotel.
MONDAY, 18 MARCH: After breakfast, join our day excursion as we visit the spectacular city of Toledo located south of the Spanish capital city. A former capital of Spain, Toledo is steeped in history and full of magnificent buildings. Join the tour leader for a walking tour of this small city, where there is always something to see and enjoy with every step, through a maze of narrow, wind-ing lanes, you shall pass by churches, old houses and palaces. After lunch (not incl.), free time for further sightseeing or souvenir shopping before we return to our hotel in time for dinner (optional) followed by overnight.

WEDNESDAY, 27 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at 3 p.m. at the Malta Inter-national Airport to check-in for our direct Air Malta flight to Lourdes. Flight departure is at 5 p.m. and we should arrive in Lourdes at 7.30 p.m. Transfer to our comfortable 3 star Hotel Angelic, followed by assignment of rooms, dinner & overnight.
THURSDAY, 28 MARCH: After breakfast we offer you an optional day excursion visiting Biarritz, Ibardin and St. Jean de Luz (basic packed lunch provided). The coach will take us to the centre of Biarritz, which is located on the Atlantic coast and just 11 miles from the border with Spain. Join the tour leader for a walk through the town. We then proceed along the coast to the nearby St. Jean de Luz, a beautiful town located on the Basque coast. We then head to the mountain village of Col d’Ibardin, located on the border between Spain and France, where one can enjoy wonderful. Dinner at our hotel.
FRIDAY, 29 MARCH (GOOD FRIDAY): After breakfast we suggest you visit to the Grotto where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette in 1858. Join the tour leader for a walk around the town to visit places of interest around Lourdes including the Boly windmill and Cachot where Bernadette’s family lived for some time and the parish church where she was baptised. After lunch join our optional afternoon excursion as we visit the beautiful town of Pau with its impressive Chateau de Pau. The famous King Henry IV was born at the castle 1553. Return to the hotel for dinner at our hotel.
SATURDAY, 30 MARCH: After an early breakfast we can offer you an optional day excursion to Toulouse, often described as “la ville Rose”, or the Pink city. Toulouse is the fourth largest city in France and is also world famous due to the aerospace industry particularly the Airbus airplane factory. Join the tour leader for an interesting walk through the city centre of this attractive south-ern city with its wealth of 15th and 16th century townhouses, churches and bridges. You will have some free time for lunch (packed lunch is included) and the afternoon is free for personal sightseeing or shopping. We return to Lourdes in time for dinner.
SUNDAY, 31 MARCH (EASTER SUNDAY): After breakfast we shall participate in the International Mass in the underground basilica of St. Pius X which has a capacity for 20,000 pilgrims. After lunch we offer you an afternoon optional excursion visiting Gavarnie. We shall drive across the picturesque valley of Lavendan where we may enjoy the views including beautiful castles, fortress, churches, and waterfalls. After a photo stop at “Pont Du Napoleon” we move on to Gavarnie where one can admire the highest sited waterfall in Europe at an altitude of 4,400 feet. To get there one has to either walk or else on horse-back (extra). Return to our hotel for dinner followed by late room check out.

EASTER PILGRAMAGE TO LOURDES
27 MARCH - 01 APRIL MONDAY, 25 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at 6 a.m. at Malta Int. Airport to check-in for our Airmalta flight departing at 7.55 a.m. After our arrival in Milan Linate at 9.55 a.m. our private coach shall transfer us to our 3-star hotel located a short distance from the centre of Riva del Garda, at the northern tip of Lake Garda. We then offer you the opportunity to join our optional afternoon ex-cursion visiting the wonderful city of Verona, the legendary home of Romeo and Juliet. We shall see the mighty Arena, one of the largest of the ancient Roman Empire and shall walk along the colourful streets to the enchanting Piazza delle Erbe and Via Cappello, where one finds a Gothic palace said to be Juliet’s house. We shall then return to our hotel for assignment of rooms, fol-lowed by dinner (optional) and overnight.
TUESDAY, 26 MARCH: After breakfast, we offer you a wonderful optional day excursion as we explore Lago di Garda. After departing from our hotel we shall stop at the beautiful town of Limone. Located on a narrow strip of land at the foot of a tall, rock cliff, Limone is considered one of the most popular towns of the lake, although still boasting a small-town charm. We continue our drive on the west coast of the lake before stopping for a short while at the small peace-ful village of Gardone Riviera. We then continue southwards until we arrive at our next stop - Sirmione, probably the most picturesque town on the lake. The old town is situated on a peninsula at the southern-most point of the lake, jut-ting out of the mainland and is surrounded by the water. We shall then drive to the east side of the lake, stopping in the town of Bardolino, famous for its wine before returning to our hotel followed by dinner (optional).
WEDNESDAY, 27 MARCH: Today you may join the tour leader for an unforgetta-ble optional day excursion as we visit Venice, considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world! On arrival, we take a boat to Piazza San Marco (boat fare not incl.). You will have plenty of time to explore some of the famous landmarks that this wonderful city has to offer. You can admire St. Mark’s Ba-silica, the Ponte dei Sospiri, built as a passageway between the Palazzo Ducale and the prison, the Campanile and the famous Rialto Bridge. We shall have enough free time for lunch (extra) and to wander along the alleyways and the unique canals of this outstanding city, before returning to our hotel in the evening for dinner (optional).
THURSDAY, 28 MARCH: After breakfast we offer you an optional excursion, visiting the interesting Parco Natura Viva, a Zoo & Safari Park (entr. incl.). We shall have enough time to explore the Zoo and see many wild species in their habitat whilst also drive through the safari park and see from close-up many animals found in the African savannah, among which one finds, giraffes, ze-bra, lions, hippopotamus and chimps. Later we shall go to a shopping centre located close by, where you should find some good bargains. Before we return to our hotel, we shall stop for a short visit at Garda, a picturesque lake side town. Return to our hotel in time for dinner (optional).
FRIDAY, 29 MARCH: After our breakfast we depart for an optional tour to the Dolomite Mountains - Madonna di Campiglio, driving north on the breath-taking route through the Rendena Valley. Madonna di Campiglio is a famous skiing resort with quaint houses and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon you may wish to take a cable car ride (extra and subject to weather) and go on top of one of the surrounding mountains and enjoy magnificent views of the Dolomiti Mountains. Later we drive south back to our hotel for dinner (optional).
SATURDAY, 30 MARCH: After breakfast you may join our tour leader on our optional excursion visiting Padova & Mantova. We begin our day by visiting Padova, a city which was once a prosperous trading town in Roman times and is also famous because St Anthony the Hermit died here in 1231, at the age of 36. Join the tour leader for a walk in the historic city centre. After lunch (not incl.) we shall continue on our excursion and visit Mantova. On arrival the tour leader shall take you for a short walk through this ancient but beautiful town where you can see some magnificent buildings, which were built under the rule of the Gonzaga family. After some free time we shall return to our hotel for dinner (optional). Afterwards you may wish to go to the centre of Riva del Garda (by taxi – extra) and enjoy the rest of the evening in one of the bars and cafes.
SUNDAY, 31 MARCH: After breakfast, transfer (optional) to the incredible Gardaland Theme Park (entr. not incl.). Gardaland is Italy’s largest fun park and offers 35 top attractions in a 45 hectare green area. There are 4 characteristic villages and attractions such as the Top Spin, roller-coasters such as the Blue Tornado, the Valley of the Kings, the castle of Merlin and the Magic Mountain. There are also fantastic shows in the Delphinarium, in the Blue Theatre, Garda on Ice and more. Gardaland also offers many restaurants including pizzerias, a self-service restaurant and a restaurant with an a la carte menu. We depart from Gardaland at 6 p.m. and return to our hotel for dinner (optional).

TUESDAY, 26 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at 6.30 a.m. at the Malta Interna-tional Airport to check-in for our Air Malta flight to Rome, departing at 8.35 a.m. After arrival in Rome, our coach shall collect us and we shall then visit the walled city of Assisi. Enjoy a walk around the town including the Basilica of St. Francis, which comprises of two 13th Century churches built one above the other and a crypt, which houses the Saint’s tomb. After some free time our coach shall take us to our 4-star hotel located in Montecatini Terme, where we shall be assigned our rooms. After dinner (optional) you may then wish to enjoy a short familiarization walk around the area of our hotel.
WEDNESDAY, 27 MARCH: Today we offer you an optional day excursion visit-ing Rapallo and Portofino, located on the wonderful Ligurian Coast. Portofino is a popular resort, especially for the world’s wealthy and in fact many luxuri-ous yachts constantly dot the horizon of this lovely port. We shall then visit Rapallo, another famous town with its striking landmarks - the large marina and the castle, stuck out at the end of a small causeway. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon. In the evening enjoy dinner (optional) at the hotel.
THURSDAY, 28 MARCH: After breakfast join our optional excursion to beauti-ful Bologna, also known as the ‘red city’, not only due to the colour of many of its buildings but also due to political connotations! After we arrive in the city, which is also the regional capital of Emilia Romagna, we shall walk to the heart of the city. After enough free time we shall return to our hotel to prepare for dinner (optional).
FRIDAY, 29 MARCH: Today, after breakfast, we offer you an optional day excur-sion as we visit the beautiful and popular Cinque Terre, a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera comprising of five villages, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. We shall have the opportunity to visit two of these villages, namely Vernazza and Monterosso as these two villages are the main points of attraction of the Cinque Terre (boat extra & weather permitting). The views are spectacular from the sea as well as from land. We shall return to our hotel, followed by dinner (optional).
SATURDAY, 30 MARCH: Today we offer an optional day excursion visiting what is considered to be one of world’s greatest artistic cities – Florence, the capital of Tuscany. We shall have enough time to wander through this incredible city. We shall then visit the beautiful old Tuscan city of Lucca. Hidden behind im-posing Renaissance walls one finds the Cathedral with its exquisite façade and other attractive buildings. We shall return to Montecatini Terme in the early evening in time for dinner (optional).
SUNDAY, 31 MARCH (EASTER SUNDAY): After breakfast, join the tour leader for an optional excursion as we visit the central Tuscan towns of Siena and San Gimignano. After driving through the wonderful Tuscany countryside, we shall arrive at one of Italy’s most enchanting cities – Siena, with its medieval centre bristling with majestic buildings. We shall then drive on through roll-ing Tuscan countryside to the famous hilltop walled town of San Gimignano, famous for its 14 medieval towers. Enjoy some free time exploring the heart of the town before we return to our hotel, followed by dinner (optional). This evening you may wish to enjoy a walk to the centre of town.
MONDAY, 01 APRIL: After an early breakfast and room check-out, we offer you the possibility to join our optional half day excursion visiting the northern Tuscan town of Pisa. The city of Pisa which was once a maritime power, rival-ling Genoa and Venice, but now it is undoubtably famous for its iconic Lean-ing Tower. But the tower is only one of a trio of works of art and architecture in the city’s Piazza dei Miracoli, as one also finds the Duomo and the Baptistry. Return to our hotel in the afternoon followed by transfer to Rome airport in time to check in for our return Air Malta flight departing at 7.35 p.m., before arriving in Malta at 9 p.m.

MONDAY, 25 MARCH: Meet the tour leader at 7.30 a.m. at the Malta Int. Air-port to check-in for our Airmalta flight to Munich, departing at 9.25 a.m. After arrival, our coach shall transfer us to our hotel located in a picture-postcard village a few minutes’ drive from Innsbruck. As it is still too early to be given our rooms, we offer you an optional afternoon excursion visiting Innsbruck. On arrival, a short walking tour is conducted by the tour leader to highlight the various important sites found in the capital city of the Tyrol region. We shall head back to our hotel in the early evening followed by assignment of all rooms and dinner (optional).
TUESDAY, 26 MARCH: A hearty breakfast will start your day perfectly in order to enjoy an optional day excursion visiting Herrenchiemsee & Salzburg. We shall first stop in Prien and by boat (not incl) we shall visit Herrenisland, site of King Ludwig II’s final monument – Castle Herrenchiemsee (entr. not incl.). We then continue to Salzburg and you may join the tour leader for a walking tour of this beautiful city. Have some free time for lunch (extra) or shopping on Getreidegasse, Salzburg’s main shopping street. Return to our hotel followed by dinner (optional).
WEDNESDAY, 27 MARCH: Today, after breakfast, we offer an optional day ex-cursion in Italy and the Alto Adige region. Crossing the Brenner Pass, which connects Italy with Northern Europe and has its highest point at 1347 meters above sea level, we would enjoy unforgettable views of the grand mountains. We first stop in Bressanone, surrounded by a ring of mountains.
Some free time for shopping and lunch (not incl.) before visiting Vipiteno. Ex-plore the picturesque main street of this town before we return to our hotel in time for dinner (optional) followed by overnight.
THURSDAY, 28 MARCH: Today we can offer you an optional full day excursion visiting Munich, the capital of Bavaria. On arrival we shall enjoy a city tour of Munich including the Olympic village, the Bavarian Parliament, the Peace Angel, the old and new Pinakothek, Koenigsplatz, Glyphotek and other places of interest. The coach will drop us in the city centre and you can join the tour leader for a walk along the famous Kaufingerstrasse, where all the big depart-ment stores can be found. Dinner (extra) in our hotel and the rest of the even-ing is free.
FRIDAY, 29 MARCH (GOOD FRIDAY): Today we offer you another interesting optional day excursion. We shall first visit the famous Tratzberg Castle (entr. fee included), built in 1500 to serve as a hunting castle for Emperor Maximil-ian. SATURDAY, 30 MARCH: After our breakfast we offer you another optional day excursion, this time visiting the wonderful region of Tyrol. Our first stop would be in the village of Alpbach, from where we will take a cable car (incl.) to the Wiedersberger Horn (2128 metres). You will be able to see amazing views over one of the most beautiful valleys in the Tirol. We shall then visit Rattenberg, a centuries old typical village. Here we should have the opportunity to visit Nagelschmiedhaeuser (entrance incl.), the oldest and most incredible house to be found in the village. We shall then drive to the skiing resort of Krimml, world famous for the spectacular waterfalls found here (entr. incl). We return to our hotel in time for dinner (optional) and overnight.
SUNDAY, 31 MARCH (EASTER SUNDAY): Today, after breakfast, we offer you a marvellous optional day excursion visiting the famous Eagles Nest and Lake Koenigsee in Germany. Our first stop shall be at Mount Kehlstein, where by taking a small bus (extra), we will go up to the renovated Hitler’s tea house, known as the ‘Eagles Nest’ (weather permitting. Should it be impossible, as an alternative we would visit the Salt Mines). From here we would enjoy the incredible views over the Alps. After returning to the base of the mountain, our coach shall take us to the nearby Lake Koenigsee, Germany’s highest lake, framed with steep mountain walls. MONDAY, 01 APRIL: After an early breakfast and room check-out, we offer our final optional excursion as we first drive north-west to Garmisch-Partenkirch-en, one of the most famous German skiing resorts. We stop for free time in this charming village which is located at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain – the Zugspitz, on the German/Austria border followed by a stop on the shores of the beautiful lake Eibsee. We return to our hotel in the early afternoon fol-lowed by transfer to Munich airport in time for check in of our Airmalta flight departing at 7.55 pm. 30 MARCH - Check in at the Malta International Airport at 12.30 p.m. for our direct Ryanair flight to Torino. Departure is scheduled for 2.30 p.m. and upon our arrival we shall be transferred to our 3-star hotel located in central Turin. The rest of the evening is free at leisure.
SUNDAY, 31 MARCH (EASTER SUNDAY) - After breakfast, we can offer you a full day optional excursion visiting Turin & Susa. We begin the day by explor-ing the capital of Piemonte as you join our guide for a walking tour of the main sites including Piazza San Carlo, Churches of San Carlo and Santa Cristina, the Duomo, Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Carignano. Enough free time is given for further personal sightseeing before we head to Susa located west of Turin in the Valle di Susa and just a few kilometres from the French border. Susa contains some important Roman ruins and medieval monuments. Explore the heart of this town such as Piazza San Giusto and other principal monuments. Return to our hotel in the late afternoon.
MONDAY, 01 APRIL – After breakfast and room check-out our coach shall transfer us to the port of Savona for embarkation on the incredible Costa Favolosa, followed by cabin allocation and lunch. WEDNESDAY, 03 APRIL – Our next port of call is Palma de Mallorca so after an early breakfast explore the city where history and modernity melt together wrapped in the deep blue of the Mediterranean. A landmark not to be missed is the dramatic Gothic cathedral, La Seu, which took about 500 years to build. Explore some of the interesting sights this city has to offer. Alternatively you may wish to visit the Caves of Drach, which feature marvelous stalactite and stalagmite formations and a large underground lake.. After the ship sets sail at 5p.m. prepare for yet another full and exciting evening on board such as a visit the ship’s casino, where you can try your luck at roulette, black jack or at the slot machines?
THURSDAY, 04 APRIL – Today we shall enjoy a full day cruising, and so it would be appropriate to explore the numerous amenities and activities of-fered on board. You will be spoilt with all the choices varying from sunbathing by the pool, whirlpools, shopping, aerobics, exercising in the fitness centre, casino and much more. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the town before then head south, to our next stop, Sirmione, prob-ably the most picturesque town on the lake. FRIDAY: Today you may join the tour leader for an unforgettable optional day excursion as we visit Venice, considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world! FRIDAY, 03 MAY: Today, after breakfast, we offer you an optional day excur-sion as we visit the beautiful and popular Cinque Terre, a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera comprising of five villages, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. We shall have the opportunity to visit two of these villages, namely Vernazza and Monterosso as these two villages are the main points of attraction of the Cinque Terre (boat extra & weather permitting). SATURDAY, 04 MAY: Today we offer an optional day excursion visiting what is considered to be one of world’s greatest artistic cities – Florence, the capital of Tuscany. WEDNESDAY: Meet the tour leader at 7 p.m. at the Malta International Airport for check-in on our Airmalta flight departing at 8.55 p.m. After our arrival in Ljubljana our coach shall take us to our superior hotel in Bled followed by room allocation and overnight.
THURSDAY: After breakfast join our optional excursion as we drive to Bohinj, a town famous for its gorgeous lake, which is considered to be one of the top attractions in Slovenia. We shall enjoy a half-hour walk uphill through the woods to the scenic Savica waterfall. Afterwards we drive to Bled Gorge. The 1,6 km long gorge carves its way through the vertical rocks of the cliffs. Enjoy the natural beauty of the waterfalls, pools and rapids before we return to our hotel for lunch (optional) and afterwards we shall explore the city-center of Bled. Visit the historical Bled Castle (entr extra) and after enjoy a cup of coffee whilst enjoying the scenery of the lake in one of the local bars. Return to hotel in time for dinner (optional) and overnight.
FRIDAY: This morning we suggest you join our optional excursion as we visit Piran, Postonja Cave and Predjama. Our first stop shall be in the city of Piran which resembles a large open air museum with medieval architecture and a rich cultural heritage. Narrow streets and com-pact houses give the town its special charm. After some free time we will depart and head to Postojna, a town famous for its magnificent underground caves. Postojna Cave offers a unique and adventurous train ride (extra) which will take you into the cave, under spectacular underground arches, which are embellished with chandelier-like stalactites, through a beau-tiful subterranean world full of playful limestone sculptures. After we then drive to the idyllic village of Predjama. There, the Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, perched high up in a vertical cliff. After the tour of the castle (entr. extra) we drive back to Bled fol-lowed by dinner (optional).
SATURDAY: After breakfast the rest of the morning is free for personal sightseeing. After lunch (optional) join our optional afternoon/evening excursion as we drive to the capital of Slove-nia, Ljubljana. After a short panoramic tour of the city, we shall enjoy a walking tour of the city centre. The old city centre has a unique architectural appearance, particularly due to its mixture of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture. We suggest a visit of the castle of Ljubljana (entr extra), followed by a stroll along Ljubljanica river and a visit to Tivoli park. After the tour, you have free time to enjoy the city of Ljubljana individually or go shopping to BTC, the big-gest shopping area in Ljubljana. Return to Bled in the evening.
SUNDAY: After breakfast we suggest you join our optional day excursion where we shall drive to the Vršič Pass (1.611 m), the highest pass in Slovenia and Eastern Julian Alps, with a breathtaking mountain panorama up to Triglav, the highest mountain of Slovenia. Vršič mountain pass links the Upper valley of Sava River with the valley of Trenta. We stop at Poštarski dom to take a short walk and enjoy in the incredible mountain views. We then continue to Kranjska Gora, a popular ski resort, and stop there at the village and have some free time for coffee and souvenir shopping. Then we continue our drive and enter Italy, to the town Tarvisio (‘Trbiž’), known for large selection and good prices of leather goods. You have some free time for shopping before returning to Bled in the evening in time for dinner (optional) and overnight.
MONDAY: Today’s optional excursion, after breakfast, shall see us heading east, in the direc-tion of Styria region. Our first stop shall be in Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian city that takes pride in roman and medieval heritage. We suggest a visit to the castle of Ptuj (entr. extra), a mighty fortified construction that rises on the slopes of Slovenske Gorice hills. We shall then stop at large shopping centre and after some free time we continue our journey to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia and it’s cultural, industrial and commercial center. Join the tour leader for a sightseeing tour of Old Zagreb. Highlights include the Cathedral, the City Museum, Dolac Market, the Stone Gate and St. Mark’s Church. You may wish to visit Zagreb’s Zoo (entr. extra), located in famous Maksimir park. Departure from Zagreb shall be late in the afternoon and arrival in Bled in time for dinner (optional).
TUESDAY: After breakfast we suggest you join our day excursion as we drive to neighbour-ing country Austria. Our first stop shall be in Worthersee, a lovely lake located at the central Carinthian foothills and which was largely formed by glaciers during the last ice age. It is Carinthia’s largest lake. Enjoy a boat ride (extra) or just a stroll along the shoreline. We then continue towards the Austrian town of Klagenfurt. Join the tour leader for a walk through the old town centre. After enough free time for further personal sightseeing and shopping we then drive to nearby Hochosterwitz Caste (entr extra), an outstanding example of a medieval fortress. After we return to our hotel you may wish to join us for the evening optional Folklore Night (incl dinner).
WEDNESDAY: After breakfast and room check-out, you may wish relax by the lake or even hire a pedal-boat and row to the island in the middle of the Lake Bled, where you can make a wish by ringing the church bell! In the afternoon we offer our final excursion to Škofja Loka, a town located in Upper Carniola. The town is the birthplace of the Škofja Loka Passion Play, the oldest play in Slovenia. After a tour of the town, we return to Lake Bled in time for dinner (optional) followed by our transfer to Ljubljana airport for our Airmalta flight departing at 11.50 p.m. and scheduled to arrive in Malta at 1.55 a.m.(early Thursday).
