At the historic Rabot Estate on the island of St Lucia we’re doing something that very few chocolate makers do – we grow our own cocoa. And it isn’t just any cocoa, because St Lucia’s Trinitario beans are some of the world’s most sought after fi ne fl avour cocoa.

The vast majority of cocoa, however, is grown by small holders who can struggle to make a living, which led us to create a unique programme of Engaged Ethics. It’s a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up approach to helping cocoa growing communities in Ghana and St Lucia. And with sustained investments of expertise, sweat and passion we’ve seen tangible results in helping to revitalise cocoa growing and improve livelihoods.

In St Lucia, we’re also helping to revitalise the island’s cocoa sector through our Cocoa Growers Programme – offering farmers free advice and assistance; the supply of high quality Trinitario seedlings; as well as a guaranteed market for their beans, bought at prices above those of the world market.

We’re the fi rst, and only, chocolatier to ever make chocolate just from St Lucian beans and you can experience the full fl avour nuances of Rabot Estate’s heirloom cocoa and other rare chocolates in our Purist range.
