Spanish reading script

Hola amigo! We are learning to speak in Spanish to act out a play.

Here is the Spanish script I want you to use to act out a play for this week.

I just want you to read both characters lines in this script as it will be good

practice for your Spanish.

I have added a table below to help you to read out the Spanish words. Try to use

expression as best as you can and do not forget to try your best.

If you would like to use google translate to help you, you can do this but be aware

it will translate the Spanish slightly differently into English. Sometimes not every

language translates that the same phrase the same. For example, ‘Buenos dias’ can

translate to in English ‘Good morning’ or ‘Good day’. In Spanish, it means good

morning, so do not worry if you use google translate and the English translates

differently.

Script

You: Buenos dias, amigo! (Morning mate)

Friend: Hola! como estas? (Hey! how are you?)

You: Estoy asi asi? (I’m ok)

Friend: Muy bien! Hace frio hoy. (That is good! It is cold today)

You: Si! hace mucho frio (Yes! It is very cold)

Friend: Ok, hasta pronto amigo! (Ok, see you later mate!)

You: Nos vemos, chao! (Catch you later, bye!)

Friend: Adios! (good bye!)

Kawaii – Plan for Final Artwork Over the next couple of weeks we are going to be working towards creating our own Kawaii style

artwork. This week we will be trailing a couple of designs and practicing some drawings, ready for our

final piece.

You must include:

At least 3 different Kawaii characters (the more the better!)

At least 2 different ‘plans’ or trail drawings in your Visual Diary.

Take a look at some of the designs below and think about how you can arange some of your drawings to

create a final piece. Remember this is just our planning stage, so our drawings do not have to be perfect.

This is just a time to get all your ideas down on paper.

Our final artwork will be completed on our return to school.

How to Play

You will need a set of UNO cards OR a set of playing cards.

Pick up one UNO card or playing card from the pack. Perform the

activity written next to the card that you have picked up (the card

name written first relates to UNO cards, the second to playing cards).

Skip / Jack (J) Card: skip one lap around your backyard or house.

Reverse / Queen (Q) Card: jog/walk 1 lap backwards around your

backyard or house (be careful when walking backwards).

Draw 2 / King (K) Card: pick up 2 cards from the UNO pack or the

playing cards. Perform the activity which corresponds to the card

colour on the next page, and use the number on the card as the

amount of repetitions you need to do e.g. Pick up a yellow UNO

card with the number 5 on it and a blue UNO card with the

number 4 on it, do 5 star jumps and 4 sit ups.

Wild Draw 4 / Joker Card: draw 4 cards from the UNO deck and do

all 4 activities.

Wild Card: Choose your favourite activity from the colour chart

and do that activity 10 times.

Number Cards – when you pick up a number card you will need to

match the colour of the card with the exercise on the next page. You

will then need to do the number of repetitions matched to the number

card you have picked up. Example: If you draw a card that is 5 red. Go

to the red/heart sign with the exercise listed and do 5 tread mills.

After completing an activity put the card on the bottom of the pack

and pick up another card. Set a timer and play the game for 30mins.

Music – Week 7

We are learning about pitch, which means high and low notes in music.

This is the third musical element we have learnt about this term, since we have already covered tempo and dynamics.

Pitch means how high or low a note is. For example, thunder is a very low pitch while a whistle is a very high pitch. Can you think of another example of a low pitch and an example of a high pitch?

ACTIVITY – Put your hand on your throat and start with a super low note! Move the pitch of your voice up higher until you get as high as you can go. Did you feel you voice move from your chest up to your head? Try going the other way and feel your voice move down from the top of your throat down into your chest.

When a sound changes pitch (higher or lower) the speed of the vibration changes. The speed of the vibration of a sound is called the frequency.

High pitch = high frequency Low pitch = low frequency

and try the straw activity. See if you can get 3 straws of different lengths to play a song like “Mary Had a Little Lamb” (this will be a challenge!).

REMINDER – sound is vibration! All sound is just movement or vibration through the air. This is why there is no sound in space, because there is no air to vibrate! Put your hand on your throat and speak to feel the vibration from the sound.
