The Pain the the Great OneThe Pain and the Great One are brother and sister. Abigail calls Jacob “the Pain” and

Jacob calls Abigail “the Great One.” Abigail is 8 and Jacob is 6. They do not get along very well. Who will be the best? Who will have the best manners? So read “Soupy Saturdays with the Pain and the Great One,” a collection of short stories.

Mr. Soupy The Pain and the Great One went to the barber, Mr.Soupy, with their dad. The Pain was

wearing earmuffs because he thought the barber was going to hurt his ear. The Great One made cardboard covers for his ears so he could get his hair cut.

Soccer DocThe Pain joined a soccer team. His friend Justin’s dad is the coach . The Pain always got put

in goal. The Pain did not enjoy being in goal because the team always lost. The coach finally changed Justin to goalie and the Pain played offense. The Pain’s team finally won their first game!

The Great PretenderThe Pain knows how to ride a bike but the Great One does not. She lies to all of her friends

that her bike is being fixed. The Pain was going to tell all her friends that she did not know how to ride a bike. She decides to tell her friend Emily that she does not know how to ride a bike.

Party GirlThe Great One is having a half birthday sleep over party. One of the Great One’s friends was

sick and could not come. The Pain was also sick, so another friend was not allowed to come. Only Emily could come but she went home before they went to sleep. The Party was horrible!

Olive The Pain and the Great One think they are going to baby sit their aunt’s baby but really they

are going to baby sit her dog, Olive . The Pain gave Olive a bath in his mom and dad’s bedroom shower. The Pain was told on by the Great One. His mom and dad where not happy.

Weirdo on Wheels The family drove to their aunt’s house in the country to drop Olive off. While they were

there the Great One’s Uncle taught her how to ride a bike!
