native English speakers.
•It only tests two skills: Listening and Reading.
•Your score is recognized around the world.
•You could get up to 990 points

•The TOEIC test takes two hours.
•It tests your listening and reading skills through a range of authentic(real-life) tasks.
▫ Tasks are designed to reflect the kinds of situations you might encounter in the global world we are living in.
Is there a passing grade for TOEIC?Is there a passing grade for TOEIC?
• No there isn’t. The objective of the test is to measure your skills no to pass or fail.
• However, since this is a graduation requirement at CCCN, there’s a minimum score you need to have to show you have accomplished the objectives of the program.▫You need:
550 points for ENIS or SP 810 points for the Advanced Program

Listening PartListening Part•45 minutes long.
•After it has started, the listening segment won’t be stopped
or played again.
•Skills tested:▫Understanding vocabulary in context ▫Understanding English idioms in context ▫Understanding grammar usage
Listening Part SectionsListening Part Sections•Part 1: Photos 10 items
▫You have to see photographs and hear four sentences describing the photos to choose the best one. *
•Part 2: Questions-Response 30 items
▫You have to listen to a prompt and choose the best response. *
*Questions and answers are spoken only.
Listening Part SectionsListening Part Sections•Part 3: Conversations 30 items
▫You have to listen to 10 conversations with 3 questions each between two speakers.
▫After each, you will answer questions that might be either printed on the test or just recorded on tape
•Part 4: Short Talks 30 items
▫Listen to 10 talks with 3 questions each between two people talking about office issues, or individuals giving a news report or other information.
Reading Part Reading Part
•75 minutes long
•Skills tested:
▫Understanding vocabulary in context
▫Understanding English idioms in context
▫Understanding grammar usage
Reading Part SectionsReading Part Sections•Part 5: Incomplete Sentences 40 items▫You have to read incomplete sentences, and choose
the correct word or phrase to fill in the blank.
•Part 6: Cloze Passages 12 items▫You have to read slightly longer passages and fill in the
missing text with appropriate responses.
Reading Part SectionsReading Part Sections•Part 7: Reading Comprehension 48 items
▫You have to read longer passages and answer
questions that involve the main idea, inference, point
of view, vocabulary in context, and more.
Tips to get ready Tips to get ready for the testfor the test
Before the testBefore the test• Immerse yourself in language as frequently as
possible:▫Read ing, videos, watching movies and t.v, listening to
recordings and songs, speaking English whenever you get the chance
•Get familiar with the test format▫Know the kind of questions you will get
•Practice against the clock! You must learn to manage your time properly
The day of the testThe day of the test•Be here at least 15 minutes before the test starts
•Don’t forget you need to bring:▫Your ID or passport*▫Your grade card from EN12 or SP8*▫#2 pencil
(*If you forget this you will not be allowed to take the test)
During the testDuring the test•Work quickly and carefully
•Don’t spend too much time on a single question
•Mark your answers directly in the answer sheet
▫Make sure you fill the circles completely
•Pace yourself in the reading part
