About Our Group
We offer the necessary training designed to provide a broad understanding of solid state physics as well as the fundamental techniques of materials science and engineering.
We begin with a background in basic chemistry, mathematics, and physics -- the foundation for broad-based materials properties, processing, and applications courses.
About Our Group
We provide technical support for companies and universities involved in the preparation and characterization of new materials, and failure analysis of commercial products manufactured locally and abroad.
We also provide exclusive training for industries who intends to learn failure analysis, high vacuum technology, and different characterization techniques.

The Solid State Physics Research Group maintains a state-of-the-art laboratory facility that provide students with hands-on training in materials synthesis, processing, and characterization.

Safety
All students are required to pass the Experimental Methods subject and take an Apprenticeship subject in order to work in the Solid State Physics Laboratory.
Students are taught on the safety precautions in the laboratory.
Research Activities
The Solid State Physics Research Group participates in different Conferences sponsored by professional organizations such as MICROSPHIL, SPP, PPS, and ASEMEP to enhance the students educational experience. Programs like PHYSOJT lets the students combine their training in the lab with real-world experience in the field they choose.
Professional Organizations mentioned give a head-start on forming a network of colleagues, public speaking experience, and leadership training.
The Solid State Physics Research Group assists students in securing summer employment within their discipline through the summer PHYSOJT program.
Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships and Research Grants are available to all students who meet the qualifications. Most scholarship and grants are based strictly on academic merit and track record in research and publication. However, we do have several scholarships and grants that make provisions for those students with financial need thru our STUFAP program and research funding thru the URCO, DOST PCASTRD, CHED Funding, and Externally funded researches sponsored by industries.
