SS Modules 1 & 2: Getting Started & What are soft skills?
Description: These course dive into a discussion about the
importance of soft skills and how they allow us to effectively
work with others no matter your position, organization, industry,
and peoples to be able to contribute to a more efficient, and
more productive workplace.
SS Module 3: Communication
Description: This course focuses on one of the most important
of all soft skills. It explores how communication is a large part of
our professional and personal life and different ways in which we
do it – non verbal, verbal, and body language.
SS Module 4: Teamwork
Description: Even if you work independently most of the time,
inevitably you must also work with others. In this workshop you
will find ways to build teams and be part of a team to accomplish
what needs to be done in the most efficient and accurate
manner that can be challenging, especially when team
members come from diverse set of soft and technical skills.
SS Module 5: Problem-Solving
Description: No matter what industry or role, problem solving
will be a part of your job. This course features ways to help use
techniques and methods to solve problem in order to enhance
productivity and cultivate relationships.
SS Module 6: Time Management
Description: Time is one of the most precious resources that
you have both in work and personal life. The ability to effectively
manage your time is key to productivity. You may not be able to
create more time; however, this course aims to help you apply
time management skills to make the most of your time.

SS Module 7: Attitude and Work Ethic
Description: Creating a positive attitude is one of the best things
you can do for your productivity and your workplace happiness. In
this course you will learn how consistently having a positive
attitude are approachable and can build more effective workplace
relationships. You will also learn how solid work ethic also helps
you find reward in the work you do and shows a dedication not
just to goals and outcomes but to your overall professional
development.
SS Module 8: Adaptability/Flexibility
Description: People often mistakenly think that the ability to
change according to the needs of a situation or a willingness to
compromise shows a certain type of weakness of lack of
principle. However, this course will bring prospective to that
argument in that it examines the ability to compromise, change in
response to evolving situations and needs in order to thrive in an
ever fast-pace workplaces.
SS Module 9: Self-Confidence (Owning It)
Description: Self-confidence is the single greatest thing that you
can do for your own success. This course discusses the elements
of self-confidence and distinguishes from the notion of it being
egotistic or acting as if one is better than another.
SS Module 10: Ability to Learn
Description: No one like to be scrutinized or criticized, but the
ability to learn from it key to professional and personal
development. This course looks at how feedback and being open
to it will improve your professional and personal growth.
SS Module 11: Networking
Description: Networking is more than just a catchphrase. This
course helps you understand the importance of networking and
what why it is a key to building relationships. Networking is more
than meeting people or connecting with them on the Internet. It
involves building mutually beneficial links where you can learn
from and benefit from each other and the relationship.

Introduction to Microsoft (MS) Word 2010 Four-2 hour Sessions (Upcoming)
In this course you will learn valuable word processing skills such as creating, saving and retrieving documents; inserting and deleting text; formatting text, and using cut, copy and paste feature. Before you take this course, you should have some experience with using a computer and the Windows operating system. Workshop outline:
Section 1: Understanding Word Processing
Section II: Creating , Saving and Editing a Document
Section III: Managing Files
Section IV: Tables, Clip Art & Photos & Finishing Touches
Prerequisite: You must be knowledgeable of basic computers in-cluding mouse and keyboard skills. All sections must be taken in the order as listed above.
Basic Computer Training
Introduction to Microsoft (MS) Excel _ Four-3 hour Sessions
This course teaches Microsoft Excel basics. Excel is a spreadsheet program that helps you manage mathematical information. It is fre-quently used in today’s workplace. Once you begin to understand the basics, you will find it is an easy and fun application to use. For exam-ple, you can use Excel to budget your personal finances and keep track of your investments. You can also use Excel to follow loan re-payments, compare different mortgages, and create invoices and more. Prior experience with the computer and an understanding of the Windows operating system is recommended.
Course Outline:
Section I: What is a spreadsheet? Section II: Entering Data and Printing Section III: Creating a Spreadsheet Section IV: Learning about Charts and Graphs Section V: Using Excel for Financial Planning Section VI: Working with Templates

JS Module 01 & 02: Getting Started & Ready Set Go!
Description: Searching for a job can be intimidating. How do
you know what job you’re best suited for? How do you build a
winning résumé and cover letter? Where can you find job leads?
How do you network without feeling nervous? What happens
when you land an interview? And most importantly, where do
you find help when you need it? This course will give you the
answers to all these questions. Also, it will help recognize the
job-related values that are important to the individual as well as
the hiring company. Identifying the purpose for working and the
assessment of skills can help determine the types of jobs to
apply for. The creation of clearly defined SMART goals can give
you a concrete plan for the direction in which you would like to
steer your career.
JS Module 3: Building Your Resume*
Description: Your resume is one of the most important parts of
the job seeking process. Whether you are chosen for an
interview or not depends a great deal on the professionalism
demonstrated in your resume and the language you use to
communicate your skills, abilities, and experience. In your
resume you must put forth the strong impression that you are
the best option for the companies’ employment needs. This
course will guide you in creating a relevant resume.
JS Module 4: Polishing Your Resume*
Description: We know that a sharp resume is the key to open
the door to the interview with the employer. When the employer
has so many options to choose from, as superficial as it may
sound, looks count. Your resume must be sharp looking,
impressive and stand out from the others. The attention to detail
that you stress in your work must be reflected in your
documented first impression, your resume. In this module we will
give some tips on how your resume can cause a lasting positive
impression, how to handle branding and other extra touches to
set you on the path to gaining employment.

is key. The goal is to do everything within your power to present
yourself as the best candidate for the job. Dressing the part and
practicing the way you will answer and ask questions, is vital to
the success of the interview. This course provides you with
interviewing skills.

the elements of a cover letter and its relationship to a well-prepared resume.
JS Module 6: Creating a Portfolio
Description: Having a collection of your best work available in a portfolio is a
great way to not only tell the employer what you are able to do, but also to show
them what you have done for others. Learn what is needed to put together a
portfolio and that it is not only for artists and writer.
JS Module 7: Networking Skills
