    Platforms

    Primary: Facebook & Youtube

    We have created a Facebook and a Youtube page for the film. Due to the pending name, they are temporarily both called Hot Sun Advanced Film Project 2014.

    - The Facebook page is the center for all marketing. It will be used to market the film and share the story of its making.

    - All Youtube uploads will be shared on the Facebook page. - All blog and crowdfunding updates will also be shared on the Facebook page

    We will utilize the Hot Sun blog connected to our main website to post pieces about the trainees experiences working on the crew. Workflow

    1. Grace writes blog during the week 2. Sends draft to Minni to edit Friday morning 3. Minni posts finalized version on Hot Sun blog Sunday 4. Shares post to Kibera Film School Facebook page 5. Shares that post on Hot Sun Advanced Film Project 2014 Facebook page

    Twitter

    We decided a Twitter account would not be necessary until we are closer to the release of the film. For now, the @hotsunschool account will share Facebook posts and Youtube uploads. Until we have a title, cast and crew are encouraged to hashtag #HotSunFilm or #HotSun on all their posts. This will be communicated to everyone through the launch email.

  • Dissemination

    When platforms are ready to launch

    - We predict the launch date will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014 - We will:

    1. Utilize Seed & Spark template from their Social Media Handbook to email cast, crew, and supporters asking them to like and subscribe to our pages

    2. Tell every single person we talk to to check out our platforms 3. Share across all Hot Sun accounts: Twitter, Facebook, main website 4. Include links in newsletter to new pages

    Who to target for sharing

    - Aim Kenya-specific and global - Can utilize our existing Twitter lists for identifying connections

    Communities that are relevant Organizations that do similar work Artists who influence us Press, including bloggers within our subject niche

    - Where: We will create a running list with the main website, Facebook, and Twitter links (List Here) so the social media release team has a solid foundation when they begin

    - Responsible for this research: Grace and Minni

    Crowdfunding (In the works)

    - Funds raised will go towards post-production and distribution - Focus on:

    - Why our project is important - Why people should care - Why people should give us money

    (A lot of this information will be answered transiently and in coordination with posts on our Facebook page)

    - Crowdfunding updates will be disseminated through the films Facebook page - The MOMENT we have a trailer or snippet, it will be posted to the crowdfunding page
