SEAMLESS LAYER 2 TOPOLOGY

GPON provides a Layer 2 transport of Ethernet frames that does not interfere with your Layer 3 topology or its command and control infrastructure. GPON supports multiple networks and does not alter the way the network infrastructure within your Layer 3 IT fabric is set up and operating. In addition, GPON does not alter the way your Layer 3 IT fabric is managed and monitored. All your current tools such as ArcSight, HP OpenView, or CiscoWorks remain unaffected. In essence, GPON is a robust, reliable, and seamless Ethernet-frames transport mechanism.

CARRIER-CLASS AND STANDARDS-BASED TECHNOLOGY

GPON is an extension of the standards-driven, carrier-class, fiber optic technology used nationwide to deliver voice, video, and data content to the curb. Based on the ITU G.984 and similar to IEEE 802.3ah standards, our GPON solution achieves the next technological leap by transmitting voice, video, and data content to the desktop or end user via advanced fiber optics deployed throughout the building. This is accomplished by means of the same 99.999% (“five 9s”) of reliability and carrier-class ratings that channel singlemode fiber content to the curb. UNIQUE LAYER 2 AES ENCRYPTION

Mission demands of some of our clients require the convergence of their communications within a highly secured environment. When a mission requires such capability, we architect and deliver a highly secured GPON Layer 2 infrastructure, one that includes 128-bit AES encryption and meets the most stringent information-security requirements. GPON has been certified to carry sensitive information of the highest classification levels, and it is important to note that extremely sensitive information critical to US national security is being transported today through the same GPON deployments that we can deliver to your organization.

ROBUST TEMPEST CAPABILITY

GPON is an Ethernet solution that significantly reduces transient electromagnetic-pulse emanations. In compliance with TEMPEST (Transient Electro Magnetic Pulse Emanations Standard) requirements, GPON greatly minimizes the risk of remote snooping. Because of this, GPON is the Ethernet technology of choice for a series of critical Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and Intelligence Agency deployments.

DEVICE-SPECIFIC COMMUNICATION

GPON offers device-specific communication within a user-friendly, remote-management platform that provides configuration, move, add, or change updates and quality of service all the way down to the port level. With GPON, there is no need to go to a riser closet to connect Ethernet switch ports or change punchdown block configurations. All changes can be done remotely from a computer or laptop to ports that may lie up to twenty-five miles away from the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) room of the facility.

SEAMLESS WALL-PLATE CONNECTIVITY

At the endpoints of its infrastructure, GPON converts Layer 2 traffic from light to standard voice, video, and data electrical signals. GPON accom-plishes this by means of highly reliable, plenum-rated, carrier-class, set-top boxes. Through short copper cable runs, these boxes provide the standard RJ-11 (Phone), RJ-45 (Computer), and RG-6 (TV) connections that supply seamless wall-plate connectivity to the end users.
