Small Group Welcome
Choose a few review questions.
1. What do you think is great about being a part of God’s family? Answers will vary.
2. What does God do to show He’s a great Father? Answers will vary. Examples: He’s always with me, He sent Jesus to forgive our sins, always listens, gives me what I need, loves me no matter what, etc.
3. God is a good father, but sometimes people think He’s not. What do you think makes them feel that way? Answers will vary. Examples: their human father let them down, hurt them, wasn’t around, etc.
4. What do you think can help people know God is a good father? Answers will vary. E.g. talk with God, read the Bible, we can show God’s love to them, etc.
1. Introduce yourself, and welcome new kids by name. 2. Kids share what happened during the past week. 3. Check up on past week’s prayer requests and events. 4. Discuss the welcome question: What kind of animal

Small Group Activity
You’ll Need • Craft foam peel and stick collage frames (1 per child) • White paper (1 sheet per child) • Markers (1 set per group)
To Do Say: When we choose to follow Jesus, God is our dad. That means all of us who follow Jesus are in God’s family. Let’s draw a family picture of some of God’s kids. 1. Give each kid a paper and a collage frame. 2. Kids stick the frame in the middle of the paper. Note:
There will be extra paper outside of the frame. 3. Kids write their name on their paper and draw people
who follow Jesus inside of the frame. 4. Kids decorate their frames with craft foam shapes
included with frame. Note: Kids can trade shapes with each other if they want more colors.
5. If time allows, kids draw and color on the paper outside of the frame.
Choose questions to ask while kids work. 1. At Konnect HQ, Dot watched a show about a dad
and his kids. What do you think Dot liked about the dad on the show? Answers will vary.
2. When we choose to follow Jesus, who do we get as our perfect dad? God
Choose an action step question.
1. What can you do to remind yourself God is a good father? Answers will vary.
2. Think of someone who might not know God is their father, and tell what you can do to show God’s love to them. Answers will vary.
Pray together.
1. Ask kids to share things they’d like to pray about. 2. Write down their prayer requests. 3. Pray together over the prayer requests. Not sure what to pray? Pray this: God, thank You for being our dad. Please help us remember what a good dad You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.

1. What do you think faithful means? Keeping promises, being there for people, trustworthy, etc.
2. God keeps His promises even when we make mistakes. What do you think about that? Answers will vary.
3. How can waiting on God with a good attitude help you? It grows patience, hope, faith, excitement, etc.
4. God always keeps His promises, but sometimes we have to wait. What do you think it’s like to wait on God to answer a prayer? Answers will vary.
5. Share a prayer you waited a long time for God to answer, or a prayer you’re still waiting for God to answer. Answers will vary.

You’ll Need • DIY craft foam Christmas ornament (1 per child) • Markers (1 set per group)
To Do Say: God is faithful and true because that’s who He is! He always tells the truth; He finishes everything He starts, and He keeps every promise He makes! 1. Give each kid an ornament. Say: Think of something great God has done this year. Draw or write about it on your ornament. 2. Kids write their name, then draw or write a time God
was faithful to them on their ornaments. 3. If time allows, kids continue decorating the
ornaments and/or write the point or verse on them. 4. Kids take the ornaments home with them.
Choose questions to ask while kids play. 1. At Konnect HQ, Ray, Mike, and Harper picked
special Christmas ornaments. What did the ornaments remind them of? Ray: God keeps His promises; Mike: God doesn’t hide things from us—He tells the truth; Harper: God helps us do the work He gives us to do.
2. How can the ornament you made help you trust God? When I remember the good things God’s done, I can trust He’ll do good things in the future.

You’ll Need • Ephesians 5:2 labels (strip of 10 labels) • Green cups (21 per group) • Cup Stacking Activity Supplement (1 per group) • Live a Life Filled with Love bracelet (1 per kid)
To Do Say: Let’s play a fun Christmas game! Stack the cups in the order of the Bible verse to make a Christmas tree. Once we get it the easy way, we’ll try a harder way! 1. Follow steps on the activity supplement to stack the
cups in order of the Bible verse (printed on back). 2. If kids get the order wrong, start over. 3. Once kids master the “easy” Christmas trees,
challenge them to master the “hard” Christmas tree. 4. Give each kid a bracelet to take home for their efforts. 5. If time allows, kids play again. Time them and
challenge them to beat their records! 6. Collect the cups at the end of the activity for reuse.
