“When the first night of Ramadan comes, the satans

and mischievous jinns are chained up, and the gates of

the Fire are closed, and none of its gates are opened.

The gates of Paradise are opened and none of its gates

are closed. And a caller cried out: ‘O seeker of good,

proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.’ And Allah has necks

(people) whom He frees (from the Fire), and that

happens every day.”

(Hadith reported by Ibnu Majah)

“O you who have believed, (TUU-BUU – ILALLAAH) repent to

Allah with (TAUBATAN –NA-SUU-HAH) sincere repentance.

Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and

admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the

Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who

believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and

on their right; they will say, "Our Lord, perfect for us our

light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things

competent.“

“Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against

themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of

Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who

is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

(Qur’an: Zumar : 39: 53)

“ And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to

Him (AS-LIMUU-LAHU) before the punishment comes upon

you; then you will not be helped. And follow the best of

what was revealed to you from your Lord before the

punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not

perceive, Lest a soul should say, "Oh [how great is] my

regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah and that I

was among the mockers."

(Qur’an: Zumar : 39: 54-56)

“ And those who do not invoke with Allah another

deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be

killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful

sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will

meet a penalty. Multiplied for him is the punishment

on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein

humiliated - .."

(Qur’an: Furqan : 25: 68)

“ … Except for those who repent (MAN-TAA-BA),

believe (AA-MANA) and do righteous work (‘AMALA –

SWO-LIHA). For them Allah will replace their evil deeds

with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

And he who repents and does righteousness does

indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance."

(Qur’an: Furqan : 25: 69-71)


““If you were to commit sin until your sins reach

the heaven, then you were to repent, your

repentance would be accepted””

““Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of

those who commit sin are those who repent.””



““Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, extends out His Hand

(Mercy) during the night so that the people may repent for

the fault committed from dawn till dusk and He extends

out His Hand (Mercy) during the day so that the people

may repent for the fault committed from dusk to dawn.

(He would accept repentance) before the sun rises in the

west (before the Day of Resurrection).””

There are five (5) conditions needed for a ‘Sincere repentance’ to be

accepted, which are:

1.SINCERITY TO ALLAH, the Most High:

This is by the person doing it only for the sake of Allah and seeking His

reward and salvation from His punishment.

2.REMORSE: for the sin that was committed, such that he is sad he did

it and wishes he had never done it.




3.CEASING (stop): to commit the sin immediately.

If the sin was against Allah, then he should

a) stop doing it if it was an unlawful act (HARAM), or

b) hasten to do it if it was an obligation (WAJIB-FARDH) that he

or she had abandoned doing.

c) And if the sin was against a created being (such as towards

other humans), then he should hasten to free himself from it,

whether by returning it back to him (making reparation) or

seeking his forgiveness and pardon.




4.DETERMINATION: make strong resolve not go back to doing that sin

again in the future.

5.BEFORE DEATH THROES: The repentance should not occur before

the time when its acceptance is terminated, either by death throes

(sakaraatul-mawt) or by the occurrence of the major sign of

Qiyyamah i.e. of the sun rising from the west.

“AND IF My servants ask thee about Me - behold, I am

near (FA-IN-NEE- QO-REEB); I respond to the call of

him who calls (U-JEE-BU-DA’WA-TAD-DAA-’I),

whenever he calls unto Me (IDZA-DA-’AAN): let them,

then, respond unto Me (FAL-YAS-TA-JEE-BU-LEE), and

believe in Me (WAL-YU’-MI-NUU-BEE), so that they

might follow the right way (LA-’AL-LAHUM-YAR-

SHUDUU-N).”

(Qur’an: Baqorah: 2: 186)

I asked: "O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr

(Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?"

He replied, "You should supplicate:

ALLAA-HUMMA – IN-NAKA – ‘A-FUW-WUN –

TUHIB-BUL –’AFWA – FA’-FU- ‘AN-NEE

(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving,

and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).“

(Hadith reported by Tirmidzi)


““Verily, when a believer commits a sin, a dark spot will Verily, when a believer commits a sin, a dark spot will

Who does not beget nor was begotten and Who does not beget nor was begotten and

none is equal to Him’none is equal to Him’

for verily none can forgive sin except You.”
