Literacy Students  will  start  to  differentiate  between  fact  and  fiction  by  reading  a  variety  of  books  about  insects.    They  will  start  to  identify  the  sequence  of  events  in  a  story  (beginning,  middle,  and  end).    We  will  continue  working  on  new  letters  and  sounds.    Ask  your  child  about  the  letter  of  the  week.

Sight  words  will  be  taught  in  context  according  to  how  they  are  used  in  the  unit  or  in  classroom  instruction.      Students  will  start  using  beginning  sounds  to  make  words  and  use  phonics  to  spell  simple  words  (own  name).  They  will  attempt  to  use  familiar  letters  and/or  sounds  to  write  a  simple  message.
