Design Impact (DI) is looking for a Senior Social Innovation Specialist to join our staff in Cincinnati, Ohio. Working closely with our partner organizations, communities, funders, and staff, the Senior Social Innovation Specialist will design and facilitate social innovation programs that result in systems’ level changes. As a small team, DI asks that each staff member be comfortable with wearing many hats, which at times may include some administrative or detail-related responsibilities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Social Innovation Specialist is responsible for successfully designing and facilitating various social innovation programs, specifically aimed at complex social issues such as education, poverty, healthcare, policy administration within governments, etc. This includes collaborating with partners, developing new curriculum, implementing programs, and growing our network and client base. In this role you would lean on your understanding of innovation, design, and/or other relevant change processes, as well as your ability to consult with partners on their specific programmatic and organizational needs. Partnership Development

• Build professional relationships with clients and program partners

• Identify opportunities to apply innovation content to our work

• Deepen the trust between DI and community partners and strengthen DI’s role asbridge-builders

Project Management

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders

• Manage multiple project aspects simultaneously (budget, hours, relationships, timeline)

• Meet or exceed deliverable expectations as outlined by client

• Evaluate project progress on an ongoing basis and adjust activities accordingly

• Delegate and e�ectively engage DI sta� members and volunteers

QUALIFICATIONSWe’re looking for someone who is flexible, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. This person demonstrates a learning mindset and comfort with self-reflection. Finally, they strive towards equitable systems, more connected communities, and relationships with people from various economic and geographic backgrounds.

Ideal candidates have:

• A minimum of 8+ years of relevant, professional experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (public policy or administration,business/innovation, organizational development, community development, design)

• Significant experience in facilitating creative learning environments with large and small groups

• A deep working knowledge of innovation and/or systems change processes

• Experience working with nonprofits, philanthropy, policymakers, and/or communities a�ectedby poverty

• Excellent written communication skills; knowledge of any other language is a plus

• Extremely strong verbal communication skills, both with large groups and interpersonally

• A genuine and demonstrable interest in interdisciplinary work and intercultural collaborations

• Ability to lead diverse teams

• Ability to work independently; are self-motivated and responsible with minimal supervision

• A positive attitude with the desire to work with people from various backgrounds

• Ability to work through conflict honestly and openly

• Ability to provide and accept clear and direct feedback

LOCATIONThe Senior Social Innovation Specialist is a full-time position based in our Cincinnati office. While most of the position’s responsibilities are conducted in Cincinnati, occasional travel will be required as many of DI’s partners are spread out across the country. Regional travel will require access to reliable transportation.

TIMING, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITSThis open position currently pays $55,000 - 65,000 per year depending on experience, and we are looking to fill it immediately. Selected candidates are eligible for health, vision, and dental benefits upon starting work with Design Impact.
