Course Description
This seminar course is designed according to three important educational pillars: Research (to encourage the idea of teacher as a researcher)
Teachers will identify questions on prime topics around brain-compatible learning and teaching practices
Teachers will be introduced with “reflective practices” as means to identify where the changes are needed in their classroom
Methods This will lead teachers to implementing differentiated methods and lessons to
ELL’s while developing students’ language ability This course aims at demonstrating teachers how to create and sustain teaching
throughout a five-day plan of activities while differentiating instruction for culturally and linguistically and cognitively diverse students using brain-compatible strategies and assessment practices
Assessment This is assessing students understanding, integrating “authentic assessment. In this course, assessment tools will be introduced to facilitate practicing such
concept. Important terms and concepts that this course will emphasize on are: brain-compatible research and outcomes, differentiated instructions, teaching methods, lesson plans based on the above, and authentic assessment of students’ learning.
