Save our Earth!!
Our Earth is sick …According to a recent report published by the green group Friends of Nature in Hong Kong, the pollution level in Hong Kong is so high that it causes all types of environmental damage. This leads to extreme weather conditions such as strong typhoons, rising air temperature, etc. If we do not stop polluting the environment, our Earth will be destroyed.
Major type of pollutionMany tourists to Hong Kong complain about the heavily polluted air which makes it difficult to breathe and may even lead to asthma. The polluted air lowers the visibility of the Victoria Harbour so it becomes hard to see the opposite side of the harbour clearly.
The polluted air is caused by the exhaust fumes emitted by cars on the road. Besides this, factories produce smoke as well. Areas with lots of factories such as Kwai Chung and Cheung Sha Wan are badly affected areas.
Make the air cleanHere is what we can do to help combat air pollution: Take public transport. If possible, walk. Switch off air conditioners. Try using the fan instead. Stop using hairspray.
Let’s join hands and help improve the worsening air quality in Hong Kong. Make Hong Kong clean and help our Earth recover!
