TERM 3 ISSUE 8 10th September 2020

Everyone has a role supporting positive school attendance.

Every day counts. Missing just one day a fortnight can amount to four weeks of lost learning over a year. Over their school life, this can equal one year of missed learning.

Regular attendance at school helps you to maximise your potential.

Whilst it is still important to keep your child at home if they have flu-like symptoms, we are now beginning to closely monitor attendance again.

The Department of Education requires us to investigate and respond to cases of poor attendance. Patterns of regular non-attendance have been identified for some students and these will be closely monitored for follow-up actions.

Building Works

We are starting to see some progress in the building works that have been taking place during this term to improve access to our classrooms and shared school spaces.

We have been learning to write Limericks in 1/2B.

These are the ones we wrote for Father’s Day.

There once was a silly daddy, Who sat on a mean fatty, He got ants in his pants

And did a fun dance I fell in love with my daddy.

by Evie

There once was a cute daddy, Who bumped into a baddy.

He fell in a hole Bumped into a pole

Then found a real baddy.

by Jaiveer

There once was a tall cool daddy, That said loudly “I’m a laddy!”

The lad ran away To see another day

Then dad saw another laddy.

by Jessica

There once was a cool daddy, Who thought rhyming was being a baddy

He saw a cat Slipped on some fat

Then tried to rhyme with daddy.

by Sari

There once was a clever, cute daddy, He taught me to play the Ratty.

I was not good at it So he got me the twit

But I preferred to play the Ratty.

by Ethan

There once was a mad dad named Blake, He said, “I love black” then called Jake.

He went to the shops, Talked to someone called Pops,

Then went home and drank a shake.

by Heath

There once was a cranky daddy, Who fell on a giant patty.

He flew up high Then touched the sky

There goes my cranky daddy.
