EL AGP 19.9% 12.9%

After analyzing our NSPF data, we see a need for improvements in ELA and Math proficiency. Our chronic absenteeism rate needs to be reduced. There is a need for more students to complete advanced diplomas and advanced courses.

Positive Statements:The positive trends at Eldorado HS include that we have increased the percent of proficiency but not at the rate that is needed. We also have consistently increased our percent of students graduating from Eldorado HS.

Areas of Opportunity: Eldorado HS area of opportunity is increasing the percent of students who are proficient in the areas of math and reading. This will be the focus of our SPP this year to increase proficiency in all grade levels in both math and ELA. We will also focus on reducing the percent of students who are chronically absent.

Prioritized Needs:Eldorado HS will be conducting a NCCAT-S this year and will report the prioritized needs for the 20-21 school year.

ESSA Levels of Evidence:Goals and action steps address the above areas of opportunity. HOPE 2 Intervention

Focus of Intervention:The focus of the intervention is to identify and support students who need behavior modification. To provide a place on site where students can participate in school in an alternative onsite setting and receive instruction in their current high school curriculum. This will allow students to complete current course work. It will help students to stay on track as they continue to receive grade level instruction. Funding has been allocated 1 1/2 CSM positions to run the on site behavior program.

Monitoring Plan:The plan will be monitored by Infinite Campus reports, conducting daily attendance checks, students' completion of assignments, and teacher input. A spreadsheet has been created to track the discipline of the students ensuring an equitable distribution of discipline. Social worker provides SEL lessons for 50 minutes a day.

Evaluation Plan:Infinite Campus reports will be monitored to ensure reduction in suspensions, referrals and expulsion rates.

COMPONENT II: Inquiry Process & Action Plan Design- Priority Need/Goal 1

Based on the CNA, identify all that apply:☑ General Education ☑ FRL ☑ ELL ☑ IEP ☐ Other

Priority Need/Goal 1:All students will increase proficiency in ELA from 23.3% to 34.1% as measured by the American College Test (ACT). *Goals have been calculated to meet NDE long term goals by 2022.

Root Causes:There is a need for a formalized structure of collaborative planning to assist teachers with aligning lesson plans to the common core state standards as well as common assessments over the standards to address mastery. There is a need for professional learning in effective instructional strategies and differentiation as these practices impact students' access to information and therefor student success. Lack of effective Tier I instruction.

Measurable Objective 1:Increase the percent of 9th grade students above the 60th percentile in ELA from 23% (Fall) to 30% (Winter) and from 30% (Winter) to 35% (Spring) by 2020 as measured by MAP formative assessments.

Measurable Objective 2:Increase the average score of students in English 10 from X% and English 11 from X% by 5% by February 2020 and an additional 5% by May 2020, according CERT.

COMPONENT IV: REQUIRED ELEMENTS FOR TITLE I SCHOOLS:

Title I Schools operating a Schoolwide Program must complete Items 1 through 5 on this page.

1. Describe the school's strategies to attract effective, highly-qualified teachers to your school.Eldorado High School offers a highly supportive environment for teachers. Teachers collaborate with their Professional Learning Communities and administration works to recognize teachers for their accomplishments through various teacher appreciation events.

 2. Describe the school's strategies to increase family engagement in accordance with Section 1116 of ESSA (see resource link), such as family literacy services and the provision to parents on how the school will share academic information in a language they understand.Family involvement is essential to ensure students have the support needed for a successful academic experience. We hold a number of events designed to engage students and their families including Open House, Online Registration events, SOT and Scholarship meetings. Notices for these events and other important information is provided in English and Spanish. In addition, a number of staff including administrators, teachers and support staff are bilingual and available to help ensure communication needs are met. We also utilize Communities in Schools as be a liaison to the parents and community.

 3. Describe the school's plans for transition and articulation between school programs (ie: assisting preschool children from early childhood programs such as Head Start, Even Start, or a state-run preschool program to elementary school, elementary school to middle school, and middle to high school, etc.).There is a specific ninth grade counselor that will meet with students to help them with the transition for Middle to High School. We also have on site social workers that will be able to help students with any issues that might arise. Our counselors, fine arts department and magnet programs begin working with students in middle school. Meetings are coordinated with each of our feeder schools to provide students with information needed for registration and course selection. Counselors also review each student's academic records to ensure correct placement in core classes. When appropriate, students are placed in remedial classes. Credit checks are conducted throughout the year and counselors are able to help students understand and meet graduation requirements.

 4. Identify the measures that include teachers in decisions regarding the use of academic assessments.Teachers give students common assessments, evaluate the results and then during PLC meetings discuss interventions that can be used to bridge the gap, or how to reteach a concept that has not been mastered by the students. Teacher feedback is an important part of the decision making process. We conduct PLC meetings in addition to staff meetings where teachers are able to meet with administration to discuss any issues relevant to the school community. Conversations center around discipline, grading, assessments, and school culture.

 5. Provide assurance that federal, state, and local services are coordinated and integrated into the school improvement effortsCommunity and Schools will continue to be a vital components to ensure success and achievement of all students. Each entity has an office and work space available on campus and each are accessible for all students. The ultimate goal of all of these programs is to increase Eldorado HS's graduation rate. These programs along with SIG and Title I extend the day for credit retrieval classes and tutoring for students.
