Narrative Icons: Story Quilt Representations of Children’s StoriesAfter observing preschool children repeatedly enfolding consistent story themes into their play and into their interactions with one another and the adults in their lives, the children were asked to self-identify the stories they were the most involved with and to then represent those stories by creating a narrative icon in fabric, which they sewed onto a collaborative story quilt using a sewing machine.
