SBICs manage about $24 billion of assets and

investments in America’s small businesses.

Congress increased SBA annual authority from $3

billion to $4 billion.

This has been a core part of SBA’s mission since

1958.

SBIC was the second program enacted into law after

SBA was formed, right after the main 7(a) loan vehicle.

Today, we have about 300 licensed SBICs.

The SBIC program is a true public-private partnership.

Our government invests in our investors,

and that gives us a leg up in the global

economy.
