Ms. Soo Hoo:

It’s time to shed the weight of winter and spring forward with an array of flowing, ethereal silhouettes, and emerging Singapore fashion brand Ownmuse has an array of sumptuous selections.

Ownmuse founders Johanna and Shu Juang created the line two years ago for young women who want to showcase everyday elegance with comfort and ease. The design duo studied under veteran Singaporean designer Thomas Wee, and recently showcased their collection in conjuction with his line at Singapore’s Digital

Fashion Week.

About the collection:Inspiration: slouchy chic

◊ Pieces embody the juxtaposition of softness and structure◊ Color blocking adds structure to clean and minimal silhouettes ◊ Pants are loosely cut, yet tailored◊ Exemplifies minimalism trend

Ownmuse’s aesthetic carefully balances classic form with contemporary edge and has been likened to Asia’s version of Stella McCartney or Phoebe Philo. Ownmuse is also a favorite among many Hollywood celebs such as Lucy Liu, who recently wore the label to a New York charity luncheon.

In addition to apparel, Ownmuse offers a meticulously crafted line of hand-beaded accessories, which provide a striking counterbalance to the design house’s chic, yet understated ready-to-wear.

Johanna and Shu Juang will be presenting their latest collection to retailers in New York next week between February 1 and February 6. If you would like to receive a digital catalogue or make an appointment to view the collection, please contact me at 918-209-2927 or [email protected]

RuPaul’s Drag Race Contestants To Be Featured in Local Company’s New Advertisement Campaign

Taos, NM— Contestants from popular reality TV competition show RuPaul’s Drag Race will be featured in a new advertising campaign headed by locally-based company Taos Mountain Energy Bars. The brand has partnered with the show and offered contracts to Drag Race fan favorites in order to promote the new advertising campaign - #TMEBold.

The collaborative effort is designed to promote Taos Mountain Energy Bars’ new bold look, flavor and energy on a national scale. The campaign showcases four personalities of select, well-known drag queens featured on the show and matches those personalities to each of the four bars offered by the company.

“Of course I am absolutely honored to be featured in the ads,” said contestant and popular queen, Trixie Mattel. “I mean, I have noticed that some brands are looking for something new, looking to tap into something unexpected, and being able to

showcase our talents and personalities is very exciting.”

PRESS RELEASE

Mission: Write a press release that showcases the debut of Taos Mountain Energy Bars’ new ad campagin featuring drag queens from Rupaul’s Drag Race. For a cohesive

view of the campaign’s creative work, see pages 32-39.

The ads will also feature themed outfits that correspond to the flavor of each Taos Mountain Energy Bar as well as short videos, print ads and meet-and-greet events. “We wanted to set ourselves apart while emphasizing the personalities of our bars,” said Kyle Hawari, co-founder of Taos Mountain Energy Bars. “The queens have been extremely helpful in personifying our product, as well as providing great entertainment along the way.”

The campaign will launch December 2015.

Mission: Promote the debut of art exhibit “Circadian

Rhythms” in the form of a social media blog post.

The University of Oklahoma’s student-led organization New Media Collective debuted a captivating exhibition entitled “Circadian Rhythms” on April 4, 2014, in the Lightwell Gallery of OU’s School of Art and Art History.

This year’s exhibition featured works of both traditional and nontraditional elements inspired by the concept of time and cycles.

The show offers audiences a chance to view new media and performance art pieces that showcase emerging technologies by innovative student artists.

From the stunningly still pieces, such as Trace and Until Tomorrow, to the dynamic performance pieces, motion and time remain consistent and impactful motifs throughout the exhibition.

Many pieces, such as I have ### followers, incite a thought-provoking response from the audience through insightful reflections on social media communication.

The New Media Collective exhibit is designed to promote personal growth for students studying photography, film, video, performance, technology and media arts. If you wish to partake in the exhibit experience, the Lightwell Gallery is located on the second floor of the OU School of Art & Art History at 520 Parrington Oval in Norman, OK 73071.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please contact OU’s School of Art and Art History via email at [email protected] or by phone at 405.325.2691.

PARSONS PROCESS

Client: Parsons Summer Intensive Studies Program: Fashion Design

Concept: Use New York City as a muse in order to design a 10-look capsule collection.

Execution: The accompanying collection of photos represent the inspiration portion of my Parsons Process. Throughout the five-week program, I learned the process of taking a design concept from incep-tion to completion utilizing aspects of 2D design, model drawing, garment construction, and graphic design. In the following pages, I present a portion of my process that culminated in the final collection.

Mood BoardsConcept: Create a collection of mood boards to illustrate the

concept of the collection.

Execution: The story arch of the collection follows the trajectory of a young woman who moves to NYC after marrying into elite society. As she molds herself to the priveleged lifestyle, she becomes an emotion-ally hollow, yet outwardly opulent shell of her former self. The fol-lowing mood boards illustrate this concept through a variety of visual metaphors including shadows, chains, and a variety of materials that juxtapose glamour, edge and an abundance of embellishment.

TEXTILE DESIGN

Concept: Utilize Photoshop to create a variety of textiles suited for

digital screening.

Execution: In order to create original textiles for the collection, I digitally manipulated photos taken from a paper-folding workshop in which fellow students and I created different sculptural forms using pa-per. Following the exercise, I added color and filters to each image to provide depth and dimension to the textiles. The collection’s featured textile - as seen on the rendered models- was chosen because the color and form possesed an arach-nid-like quality, a vital metaphor for the infectious nature of society within the collection storyline.

AD Campaign

Client: Taos Mountain Energy Bars

Concept: Create a comprehensive ad campaign that promotes Taos Mountain Energy Bars’ new bold look and flavor on a national level.

Execution: Based on research conducted throughout my senior capstone project, the following campagin was created in order to gain maximum exposure for a new brand in a crowded market. I selected the drag queen theme for the ad campaign for both its boldness and clever wordplay as well as its newsworthiness as it pertains to pop culture.
