  2. 2. + Tips to begin your technology integration Assess technology hardware resources (e.g., number of computer/iPad devices) that available easily acceptable. Evaluate what software, applications, computer and internet operations, you know how to use. Determine how you would like to use technology or where on the SAMR Model you would like to begin. Effective technology integration begins first by identifying the student learning task, and then identifies appropriate tool. Establish a cloud, then create individual folders. Share links with students or create a generic account using a classroom email. Students will have their own folder in which they share with the teacher.

Another suggestion is for teachers to join or establish a collaborative network of fellow teachers who are willing to share and collaborate ideas.
  7. 7. + What is the SAMR Model It is a framework through which a teacher can assess and evaluate the technology use in his or her classroom. The model is the relation between tool and task. It is tiered model transitioning from enhancing learning to transforming learning. Tools are technology hardware and software (e.g., iPad and applications). Learning tasks are student learning objectives. Click here to view a breakdown written by Raul Saldana.
  8. 8. + Technology goal in relation to SAMR model The goal is for teachers to move from the substitution state towards the redefinition stage so that the needs of the 21st century learner are met with active learning opportunities.
