The street will be closed at 8 a.m. on _____ (date); please be sure to move your car (or limo).

HERE’S WHAT TO BRING (for our communal dinner):● A table and/or chairs if you have them.● A side dish to share (salad, pasta, fruit, etc.), along with your own beverage and item(s) to grill (don’t forget

hot dog/hamburger buns).● Your best bars (not brownies…but this doesn’t mean no chocolate!).

Here’s the schedule of activities:

8 a.m. The street is blocked at the alley ______ (street names).

ongoing At some point during the day, a city fire truck should stop by for a visit.

Games and activities for kids, including bike riding, basketball, jump roping, dipping in the kiddie pool, bags game, sidewalk chalk, and water balloons. Bring out your favorite activity/game to play with other kids (thanks to lots of different neighbors).

We’ll have lemonade throughout the day for thirsty kids (thanks, Susan and James).

10 a.m. Art project for kids, combined with some music, dancing, and reading (thanks, Teri).

3 to 6 p.m. Bike decorating for the bike parade (thanks, Gina and Karyl).

Candy-sushi making (thanks, Michelle F.).

Some time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., the city’s bouncy tent will arrive; it will be inflated and open for one hour.

5:45 p.m. Bring your tables and chairs to the middle of the block so that we can eat dinner together; plates, napkins, utensils, cups, and condiments will be provided. Please bring a side dish to share and your own beverage and item(s) to grill. There will be hot grills and cooks ready to grill (thanks, Jim and Anthony).

6 p.m. Bike parade (thanks, again, Gina and Karyl)!

6:15 p.m. Dinner will be served “family style” on a long table set in the middle of the street. Sample the “block’s best bars” contest entries for dessert.

7 p.m. Annual block party ceremony, complete with the announcement of the “block’s best bars” contest winner (thanks, Judge Bob) and the singing of the ___ (address) Block Party Theme Song.

7:15 p.m. The Lawless Brothers (Jim’s band) plays original and cover songs (weather permitting).

after dark S’mores over the fire pit (thanks, Maria F.).
