Salesforce Certified Force.com Developer
1. This certification is no longer offered.
2. If you have already done with it, it still counts.
3. It still counts as a valid prerequisite to Salesforce
Technical Architect Certification.
4. This certification proves that you are quite
comfortable with declarative aspects of the
Salesforce Platform.
Salesforce Certified Advanced Developer
1. This certification is no longer offered and have
been replaced by Platform Developer II
2. If you have already done with it, it still counts.
3. This certification proves that you are very
comfortable with the programmatic aspects of
the Salesforce Platform. Apex and Visualforce
are just a sleight of hand for you.
Salesforce Certified Administrator
1. This is available and thriving.
2. This certifications is the start of your
Admin/Consultant Career
3. This is a prerequisite to the following certifications• Salesforce Certified Administrator
• Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant
• Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant
4. This credential proves that you have a broad
knowledge of Salesforce application, you can
configure and manage Sales and Service Cloud
Applications.

• 90 minutes allotted to complete the exam• 65% is the passing score
• Registration fee is USD 200
• Retake fee is USD 100
• Available in English, French, German, Spanish and Brazilian

(ADM 201) course is recommended

Administrator
1. Salesforce Certified Administrator is a
prerequisite.
2. This says that you have handled a fair share of
Salesforce orgs.
3. That you are completely comfortable with
designing robust and scalable applications for
the clients.

• Recommend taking Administration Essentials for Experienced Admin (ADM-211)

Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant
1. You need to be a Salesforce Certified
Administrator as a prerequisite to take this exam.
2. This proves that you are proficient in
understanding customer’s needs.
3. You can design and maintain Sales Cloud
Applications as per customer’s business
requirements.

About the Exam

• 68% is the passing score

Implementation Expert experienced in
implementing Service Cloud solutions as per

Salesforce Platform App Builder
1. This is the certification introduced to replace
Salesforce Certified Force.com Developer.
2. It is a prerequisite to Salesforce Technical
Architect Certification.
3. Apart from the usual declarative stuff, you
should be comfortable with Lightning
Experience, Lightning App Builder to create
robust Salesforce applications.

applications on Force.com Platform.
2. You are quite comfortable with the basic
knowledge of Apex and Visualforce.

1. Platform Developer I is the prerequisite for this
certification.
2. You must have mastered Apex and Visuaforce.
3. Apart from that you should have a pretty good
idea about SOAP, REST APIs, Heroku and
building Lightning Components.

performance technical solutions on the
Force.com Platform.
2. Come up with the right ways of integrating
multiple platforms and applications with proper
authentication.
3. Manage delivery lifecycle of applications.

(CTA)
About the Exam
The Salesforce Certified Technical Architect program has three components:
(1) self-evaluation,
(2) multiple-choice exam, and
(3) review board presentation.
To earn the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
credential, you must successfully complete all three
components in this order. Successful completion of each
component is required to move on to the next step.
Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
(CTA)
Self-Evaluation
• 42 multiple-choice questions
• 30 minutes allotted to complete the exam (online, non-
proctored)
• There is no registration fee
• Current status as a Salesforce Certified Force.com
Developer or a Salesforce Certified App Builder is a
prerequisite
Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
(CTA)
Multiple-choice Exam:
• 60 multiple-choice questions
• 120 minutes allotted to complete the exam (proctored)
• 63% is the passing score
• Registration fee is USD 500
• Retake fee is USD 250
• No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced
during the exam
Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
(CTA)
Review Board Presentation
• Presentation and discussion of the architecture solution for
a hypothetical scenario
• Registration fee is USD 6000 and USD 3000 for each
subsequent attempt
• 4 hours allotted to complete the exam
• No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced
during the exam
• Recommend training, reference materials and full exam
outlined in the Study Guide.

Webassessor is the site where you can register for
all Salesforce Certifications

Maintaining Your Salesforce Credential
• Three times a year (winter, spring, and summer), Salesforce
releases new system feature updates.
• In accordance with these updates, all certified professionals
are required to maintain their certification by taking a
maintenance exam aligned with the Salesforce product
release cycles.
• Depending on your Salesforce credential, the number of
certification release exams published per year may vary.

About Release Exams
• 30-minute online and non-proctored exams that you can take
at your convenience.
• Typically they up to 15 questions long, but can vary
depending on the volume of new release changes.
• The exams are also open note, so you can refer to the online
training and release notes during the exam.
• You are permitted three attempts at each release exam.
Certification Expiration
• There is a due date to every release exam.
• If you do not pass the release exam(s) by the required due
date, all credentials maintained by that exam will either expire
or, in some cases, become suspended.
Certification Expiration
• If your Salesforce Certified Force.com Developer credential
expires and you also hold the Salesforce Certified Force.com
Advanced Developer and/or Salesforce Certified Technical
Architect credential(s), those credentials will be placed in a
suspended state.
• You will then have one release cycle from the expiration date
to recertify as a Salesforce Certified Force.com Developer, at
which point the Salesforce Certified Force.com Advanced
Developer and/or Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
credential(s) will be reinstated.
