I have found myself frequenting various doctor's offices this spring for regular check-ups, tune-ups and, if you will, some scheduled maintenance! In fact, I would appreciate your prayers as I go in for an out-patient procedure (hernia repair) on Monday, which will slow me down some this coming week or two.

In the past 11 months, the Finance and Pastoral Councils have been invaluable in helping me understand the parish, its history, joys and challenges. I rely upon them as voices from within the community and as a sounding board for ideas. In working with them, I have identified the following priorities:

Continue to foster the development and growth of the community of Saint Mary Cathedral; Develop a viable business plan for the Cathedral School for the next

decade; Invite investment in a Cathedral endowment for the long term future.

I look forward to sharing specific ways these three goals have led to and continue leading us in our own parish's "tune-ups and scheduled maintenance." For example, this week José Rodríguez joins our staff in the new parish staff position of Director of Advancement. Working closely with the Financial Council and myself, we hope to: realize a strong finish of the Restore, Renew, Rejoice campaign; develop enhanced communica-tion regarding our weekly and monthly financial picture, and lay the foundation for a Cathedral endowment fund.

As we head into the summer months, I pray we may all experience: renewal in our daily prayers; safety in our travels; and the joy of time with family and friends! Fr. Tim

Seguir fomentando el desarrollo y crecimiento de la comunidad de la Catedral de Santa María;

Crear un plan viable de negocios para la escuela de la Catedral para la próxima década;

Padre Tim
