Recently, Rush-Copley Medical Center’s board of directors unanimously approved
a formal agreement to integrate with Rush University Medical Center as an
academic health system. While we’ve been working to restructure the system,
Rush-Copley’s collaborative clinical efforts with Rush are already well underway.
Rush-Copley’s clinical collaboration extends to some of the medical center’s leading service lines. Rush-Copley’s Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit is now staffed with Rush physicians. Cardiovascular surgery is performed with academic medical center surgeons from
Rush. And, Rush-Copley’s stroke services are augmented by a telemedicine “robot” that puts Rush neurologists in our Emergency
Department to help evaluate patients presenting with stroke symptoms. An additional telemedicine robot for stroke is also planned for
the Emergency Center at Rush-Copley Healthcare Center in Yorkville. These are just a few of the initial clinical programs that are
already benefiting from Rush-Copley’s strengthened relationship with Rush. This collaboration with Rush will help Rush-Copley to
continue to provide the best care possible for our community and continue our commitment to providing advanced medicine with
extraordinary care.
